Autumn came around quickly… so it’s time to share my beauty favourites for this season!
Regular followers probably won’t be surprised to hear that I’ve chosen the Sachi Saponins Cream Cleanser* | £42 | full review | as my cleansing pick for autumn. This is exactly the sort of cleanser my dry skin needs when the temperatures drop and the central heating goes on! It's rich, creamy and non-foaming with moisturising plant oils and butters to soften the skin, plus ingredients that will help boost skin barrier function and keep everything healthy and in balance. It's really gentle and never fails to leave my skin soft, plump and calm after use. I like to follow this up with a beloved classic: the Laneige CeraPeptide Cream Skin Toner & Moisturiser* | £29.50 | full review. This is a gorgeous lightweight milky toner that adds a much-needed boost of moisture and hydration to my skin when it needs that bit extra. The glycerin base draws in hydration, the meadowfoam seed oil softens the skin and ceramides help strengthen the skin barrier whilst peptides encourage skin repair. A gorgeous all-rounder for parched skin!
I have a moisturiser I've been enjoying for the daytime and also something that's a little richer and more substantial for overnight. In the morning, I've found myself reaching a lot for the Caudalie VinoHydra Deep Hydration Moisturiser* | £20 | full review. This is the perfect balance of a moisturiser for me at the moment; it's full of hydration to keep the skin juice, bouncy and dewy when the weather is trying to make it dull and lifeless, but it also has a richness to it. It's formulated with shea butter and squalane for that deep nourishment but also glycerin and grape water for fresh, dewy and plump skin. In the evening, I find myself gravitating towards the Byoma Barrier+ Repair Treatment* | £16.99 | full review. This is a rich, restorative moisturiser that I personally like to use all over. It's formulated with cholesterol, ceramides and fatty acids to help keep the skin barrier healthy (even when the weather is harsh), nourishing and skin-softening avocado oil, shea butter for deep moisturisation and ectoin, which helps to protect and repair the skin. All-in-all it's a great option for transitional skin that's feeling a little off-balance... When I want a little something extra, I finish off my evening routine with the Zelens Power D Vitamin D Concentrate* | £105 | full review. This is a lightweight facial oil that can be used under or over your moisturiser. It's non-greasy but leaves my skin soft, plump and deeply nourished after use. It's formulated with Provitamin D3, which again is going to help barrier function, skin-conditioning squalane, Vitamin F to help reduce water loss through the skin and ingredients like bisabolol to help soothe and calm the skin.
I also have a couple of makeup favourites, though I guess not as many as I've featured in past autumn edits! (I guess I'm becoming a creature of habit...) My current go-to base is the Sculpted By Aimee Hydratint Tinted Serum* (Shade 6) | £23 | full review. I'm sure you got the picture from this post that my skin is dry! So, when the weather is cold, it just needs that extra little something in every step of my beauty routine and this product ticks that box. It's formulated with humectants to draw in hydration, skin-soothing cica and ceramides (which I'm sure you've noticed: I'm a big fan of!) This gives light coverage to even out the skin tone and mask any redness without giving too much coverage. It looks like your natural skin but more harmonised and radiant. Then my colour makeup product of choice at the moment is the Nudestix Nudies Bloom in Rusty Rouge | £30 | full review and swatch. I love this quick and easy formula and it's a product that says it will work for cheeks and lips and actually delivers! It has a creamy, glide-on formula and a pigmented, demi-matte finish that's long-wearing but non-drying and really quite forgiving and long-wearing. The colour is warm a brown-toned muted red that's perfect with a gold or brown eye look.
And now; let's talk about everything else! I revisit this on an annual basis and I guess I'll continue to do so until it's surpassed; my fragrance of the season is the Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry Eau de Parfum* | £73. This fragrance has those rich tones of bergamot, raspberry and black cherry, smoky palo santo and guaiac wood add the titular 'burning' notes, rose oil adds this sweet floral note and we also have notes of tonka and praline. It's a gorgeous scent with a balance of sweet, juice, smoky and rich notes.
In terms of body care, there are two products I have on heavy rotation right now. The first is the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm* | £23 | full review. I use this product both AM and PM but I especially love it in the evening so my lips are soft and nourished by morning. Plus it helps keep dry, cracked, peeling winter lips off the cards with a cocktail of deeply-moisturising plant butters and oils. On my body, lately I've been loving the Naturium Glow-Getter Multi-Oil Body Butter* | £22 | full review. This is a rich body butter that's still light enough to melt onto and over the skin effortlessly (so you're not rubbing it into the skin for ages!) It smells divine and packs in a bunch of nourishing oils like rosehip and squalane (which I love in my facial skincare products), alongside butter-based ingredients such as shea. Overall, this is a dreamy, non-greasy body butter to keep dry skin at bay as the weather cools down.
What are you reaching for this autumn?
