Last month I was a little under the weather, which always calls for a bit of self-care, and given the recent lockdowns across the world, many of you probably have a bit of extra time to look after your skin. This was my once a week, extra-special routine that helped perk me back up!

To get things started, I like to light a candle and take off my makeup. I do this using the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm | £24 | full review coming soon. It just melts onto the skin in the most luxurious way! I like to take my time massaging it onto my skin so it warms into an oil which I then emulsify with water and remove with a damp cloth. It makes quick work of makeup and doesn't leave any residue behind on the surface of my skin. I then go in with my beloved Wow You! Zen Cleanser | £16 (15% off with code JASMINE15) | full review. This rich, but still somehow lightweight, cream cleanser got me through the winter months and I'm still loving it! It's formulated with nourishing good stuff like cucumber, oat and avocado. When I'm doing a longer 'treat myself' skincare routine, I like to use my Foreo Luna Mini 2* | £99 | full review (sponsored). This is a silicone cleansing device that I find far gentler and more hygienic than the a traditional brush like the Clarisonic. It really works the product in and takes my cleanse to the next level, ensuring any active ingredients are delivered to the skin, as well as providing some light exfoliation.

I love putting on a nourishing face mask before having a relaxing bath reading a book. The Summer Fridays R + R Masque | £46 | full review | is a favourite of mine for this. It's full of oils to give my skin intense moisture and contains some exfoliating particles to buff away dead skin cells. I leave it on for around 15 minutes before rinsing once I'm out of the bath. I don't always want to use a cloth to totally remove all traces of this mask because it's so, so moisturising and leaves my skin incredibly soft, so once I'm out of the bath I'll usually pat a toner onto my skin with my hands. At the moment my go-to is the Versed Baby Cheeks All-in-One Hydrating Milk | £16.50 | full review. This toner is full of moisturising ingredients and leaves my skin nice and soft after use.

I usually do the rest of my skincare routine when I'm cosied up in bed with a book or whilst chilling on the sofa watching something on TV. I like to apply something a bit more nourishing to my eyes and lips overnight. For the eyes, I often reach for the Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Cream* | £48 | full review | because it's super-moisturising without being too thick or heavy. It's also formulated with lots of antioxidants like algae, caffeine, Vitamin C, green tea and aloe. For my dry lips that still aren't quite over winter, the Primark x Alex Steinherr Sleep Spa Overnight Lip Mask | £4 | full review | has been a life-saver! It's a thicker balm that really helps keep my lips soft and moisturised.

As the main active in this routine, I've been using the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum | £55 | full review coming soon | around once a week since the start of this year. This is formulated with both lactic acid and salicylic acid to provide an intense overnight exfoliation treatment. By morning I notice my skin is much smoother and has a lovely glow. I've also found that long-term it's helped the overall texture and clarity of my skin. After this, I go in with a bit of the Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask | £40 | full review coming soon. This mask is great for making my skin extra plump and soft. It's formulated with hyaluronic acid to bring water into the skin, squalane to soften and moisturise and berries for their protecting antioxidant properties. It really does give you dreamy skin by the following morning!

For an extra hit of replenishing goodness when I need it, I lock everything in with a couple of drops of the Lixir Skin Night Switch Essential Lipids | £24 | full review. This oil is full of fatty acids (including ceramides) to not only moisturise the skin but help repair its natural barrier. I like to work it into the skin with a relaxing massage using my facial roller. This can also help with lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness in the skin.

What does your 'treat yourself' skincare routine look like?
