My Sunday Facial Routine

This is a sponsored post

It's Sunday, so before the week ahead, I like to give my skin some extra attention. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that I'm absolutely fanatical about the Foreo Luna Mini 2 in Fuchsia* | £119 (currently £101.15) | cleansing device and it's going to be on offer through Feel Unique with 15% off from 9th-13th of October! I already think this is one of the best-priced products of its kind out there, so if you've been in the market for a cleansing brush then now is the time to act! Today I'm going to be talking about my facial routine and all the ways in which you can use this device to maintain a glowing complexion this winter.

Of course the first thing I do is remove my makeup. One of my favourite 'treat' products for this is the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm | £39. It just has such a luxurious feel on my skin when massaged in and is gentle but effective at removing makeup with a warm, damp muslin cloth.

I also like to take the opportunity to give my skin a really deep cleanse and the Foreo Luna Mini 2 in Fuchsia* | £119 (currently £101.15) | is amazing for this. It's rechargeable but the battery life is also so good - I use this all the time and have only ever needed to put it on charge about twice! You simply switch it on and there are a variety of textures on the surface and settings, so you can customise your perfect cleanse. I use this with the Niod Sanskrit Saponins* | £21 | as it's pretty much my go-to pairing. This cleanser has such an unusual texture; it's almost like a paste and doesn't foam up much. I apply it to my dry skin then use the Foreo Luna Mini 2 on a fairly high setting. I like to use the back of the device for cleansing, which has slightly larger bristles designed for oilier skin. I like to take my time doing this so I can really work the product into the skin. The device actually buzzes each time you need to move onto the next part of your face. Adding this into my cleansing routine has made such a difference in terms of helping keep any breakouts at bay but also giving my skin that fresh, totally clean feeling without being at all harsh. It also gently exfoliates the skin, which I really like because it keeps things looking glowing, even as the weather gets colder.

After rinsing off my cleanser and patting my skin dry, I reach for a face mask. The Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Face Mask | £24.99 | is such a great all-rounder. It has a runny honey texture and smells amazing. As well as being nourishing, honey also contains antibacterial qualities, meaning it's great for keeping your skin clear without using anything too harsh or astringent. What I think makes the Foreo Luna Mini 2 really unique is the medical-grade silicone used for the bristles. This makes it gentle enough to use daily, but it also means it's more hygienic than most brushes (as the material isn't porous) and very quick and easy to rinse clean with some warm water. I apply a thin layer of the mask and leave it on for 10-15 minutes (whilst I relax in the bath or read a magazine). It doesn't harden or anything like that, in fact it semi-absorbs into the skin during this time. Before rinsing it off, I I go back in with the device, this time on a lower setting to give the product an added boost of effectiveness. I like to use the thinner bristles on the front of the brush for this, as they're so nice and gentle, and the design means it sits comfortably against my cheeks.

I rinse my skin and dry my face off again before my toning and exfoliating step. I recently rediscovered the Alpha-H Liquid Gold* | £33.50 (full size) | and I've really been loving it! It isn't one for very sensitive skin however, used occasionally, it definitely works for me. I use a little bit on a cotton wool pad and it evens out the tone and texture of my skin, leaving it looking fresher and more radiant pretty much instantly.

Lastly, I love using an oil product as an overnight treatment. I'm a huge fan of the Caudalie Vinosource Overnight Recovery Oil* | £26. It's a nice, lightweight formula that's still so nourishing. It gives me soft, smooth, plump skin overnight without breaking me out. Again, the Foreo device is great just for giving the product an extra boost of effectiveness and ensuring the oil absorbs fully into my skin. I like to use a nice gentle setting to give my skin a relaxing massage.

  6. The Emma Hardie Balm and Alpha H Liquid Gold are one of the few products that have seriously impressed me. Constant repurchase for Alpha H, I am still looking for alternatives to the Emma Hardie balm though, fingers crossed I find a cheaper alternative. Great post! Xx
