Monthly Makeup Menu #9

Another month, another opportunity to give you a little insight into the makeup products that have been firm staples for me over the past few weeks! Make sure to check out my full review posts too on these products.

As usual, I've been loving my YSL Touche Eclat, Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil, NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Espresso, Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer, benefit Erase Paste and Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black. However I do basically use those every single month, so I've skipped over them to avoid repeating myself and you can read about them here.

Face

Every time I bring this one back out and give it a go, I just think to myself: "yaaaassss!" It just looks so flawless and gives a good medium-full coverage. It has a semi-matte but not at all drying finish that keeps my face shine-free all day long. It's just as long-lasting as the legendary Double Wear but isn't quite as full-coverage, which makes it perfect for day-to-day use in my opinion.

It's not the Sephora Pro Airbrush #55 for once! For a slightly thicker medium or full coverage foundation, my go-to brush has always been this dense, rounded buffing brush by Zoeva. This is part of the original Rose Golden set but I've linked the individual brush you can buy with the standard finish. If you don't own this, I thoroughly recommend it as it buffs in my base flawlessly. I find the shape makes it really quick and easy to navigate around my face.

I picked these up a while back as I'd heard a lot about these concealer that come in a wide shade range but still for a drugstore price. I gave them a little go, wasn't quite sure and they were banished into my drawers and never seen again. As part of my Beauty Spring Clean, I decided to resurrect them. They come in a tube with an unusual brush-style applicator. The formula is quite thick and a little hard to squeeze out through the brush but I persevered. Pure Beige is slightly more neutral in tone and lighter, whereas Medium Beige is warmer and a tad darker. I'm still not completely convinced so I'll update you on these but the formula is a tiny bit drying and I do feel like I have to apply quite a bit under my eyes to get the coverage I want. However I do really like them on blemishes, so perhaps that's the way forward with these - I will keep you posted.

Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder | £11.95

I've heard so much about this power and have been meaning to get my hands on it for ages. Last month I finally took to plunge! I went with the smaller tub because it's more travel friendly but looking at the size and price difference, the larger tub is much better value. I've been using this powder to set my makeup using a damp Beautyblender and I have to say that I really rate it. It's so finely-milled and Banana is the perfect slightly highlighting (but nothing too over the top) shade for me. It really stops my makeup moving around during the day (which is usually a big issue under my eyes) without looking caky.

Cheeks

I've actually been using this eyeshadow as a highlight on my face, as it gives a gorgeous gold metallic finish. I actually think this is a great dupe for my Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in So Hollywood if you missed getting your hands on that limited edition release. It's that perfect true, light gold that seems to be the best kind of highlighting shade for me.

Zoeva 105 Luxe Highlight Brush* | £12.50

Anyone who is a regular on this blog will know I've been a huge fan of Zoeva brushes for quite some time. I'm also a huge fan go highlighting - I'd go so far as to say it's probably one of my favourite beauty products. So this brush was a match made in heaven. It has relatively dense natural bristles that are tapered but still slightly fluffy. It doesn't pick up too much product and it just makes blending out your highlight naturally so easy. I have a post coming up about my absolute favourite, can't-live-without makeup brushes and I'm really going to struggle to choose between the Zoeva 105 and the Sigma F35 brush I'd been using until I discovered this. It's pretty much perfect with the KIKO eyeshadow.

ColourPop KaePop Bronze Me | $8 | post

This is just the most amazing cream bronzer as far as I'm concerned! I love ColourPop's cheek products as they're sort of halfway between your usual cream formula and more of a mousse - they don't look greasy at all on the skin but are so easy to work with. This is the perfect bronze shade for me - it's warm but not orange, deep enough to contour with and although it's billed as matte, it has a very subtle gold sheen. It's so easy to apply and blend out and I'm really impressed with how well it lasts on my skin. I've been applying this with the Crownbrush Contour brush I mentioned last month. Find out how I ship this brand to the Uhere.

KIKO Artist Blending Wave Multicolour Blush in 03 Expressive Biscuit | £10.90

When I saw KIKO's Artist Limited Edition collection, I knew I had to have something from it and the blushers were the product that really called out to me. Although there's a mauve colour in the range, my recent clear out made me realise I really didn't need another blusher in that shade! I'd been on the lookout for a blusher that was sort of bronzy too so I had a bit of a 2-in-1 for busy mornings, and this really fits the bill. It's a sort of nude-brown-dark peach shade that's really flattering and adds some colour to my cheeks. It has a matte finish and is very pigmented, so I apply it with a light hand but it isn't patchy or difficult to get a nice finish with at all! You can take the shades individually or I tend to swirl it all together - I've swatched each shade and then the two mixed together below.

Zoeva 88 Luxe Powder Buffer Brush* | £24.50

This is such an unusual and unique brush; I really haven't seen anything quite like it before! It's pretty large in size and the natural bristles are very tightly packed. I've discovered that I really like this for powder blusher and bronzer products. It doesn't look like it should work but somehow it just does! I lightly tap it onto the KIKO blusher and the white bristles mean I can tell exactly how much product I'm working with. I then gently buff it into my skin and blend out. It really gives such an even finish. I never would've thought to pick up a brush like this myself so I'm really glad I got the chance to try it out because it's just great.

Eyes

ColourPop Kaepop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Sunset Blvd | $5 | post

I really have been obsessed with this ColourPop collaboration and I'd love more products from it, as I'm such a fan of everything from my haul. This is a gorgeous light nude champagne-gold-bronze shade with a subtle shimmer (it's ColourPop's Pearlised formula). Again it's in their unique spongy cream formula. This is relatively sheer and subtle but still so long-lasting and doesn't crease on me. I've been enjoying this for those minimal makeup days.

I think this is the first time I've ever had to re-purchase an eyeshadow stick, so you know this is love! This is just the perfect matte, crease-proof eyeshadow base for everyday wear. It's the ideal not-too-warm, not-too-cool shade that's relatively close to my skin tone. It works with any neutral eye colour - whether it's slightly more cool and taupe-y or very warm and bronzed.

Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette | £28.50 | post

This is just all your neutral eyeshadow palette dreams wrapped into one! If I'm travelling, this is a great one to reach for as I just know it's going to do everything for me. It has your bronzes, browns, golds, reds and taupes in a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. I'm a big fan of the Zoeva eyeshadow formula - it's just so pigmented, long lasting and easy to work with.

Zoeva Graphic Eyes in Mute* | £7 | post

I'm a huge fan of these Zoeva eyeliners - they're so creamy and pigmented but don't smudge or smear throughout the day. I'm loving the taupe-charcoal matte shade Mute for tight-lining. It really helps my lashes to look thicker but I find it a little softer than a black.

When I'm going for a warm neutral eye then I always reach for Smog. Again, I love this formula - Zoeva's is actually a really good dupe because this also has that creamy pigmentation that sets down and lasts all day. This has a really subtle metallic sheen to it and is a bronze-gold-brown shade.

L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara | £9.99 | post

I've fallen for this mascara hard! I love the angled little brush as you can get right down into the lash line with it and make sure you're getting every single lash. It curls my eyelashes so well and just gives them amazing length. I feel like it also adds a good amount of volume too without looking clumpy.

Lips

Dose of Colors Matte Lipstick in Truffle | £14.50 | post

I know it's not particularly seasonal but what can I say? I like a nude matte lip! I really love this as it's slightly cooler toned than my usual fare but doesn't wash me out (like Stone did). It's kind of like Velvet Teddy in liquid lipstick form; that mid-brown matte nude with that tiny hint of pink. I find the formula really comfortable and non-drying despite it having impressive longevity.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Liar | £15.50 | post

This was another rediscovery following my little clear-out. I absolutely loved it last year and now I've started wearing it again, I remember why. The formula is so creamy yet pigmented and has a nice little sheen to it. It's my perfect pinky-brown nude shade and just seems to go with any makeup look.

What do you think of my current makeup staples? What have been yours over the past few weeks?

I love the LA Girl yellow corrector concealer, but i don't really like the 'skin toned' ones, I think the formula is different. And i need dig out Double wear light, I love it too. Great picks :) xx
