When you see a gorgeous product in beautiful packaging, you immediately assume they're going to set you back a fair amount. However when it comes to Milani, you'd be wrong! The formulation, shades and the packaging of their powder products is incredible and every single item in this post costs under a tenner.
First things first; Milani is not the most accessible brand in the UK but there are several ways to get your hands on it and I have tried all 3. Firstly is through Amazon UK. Whilst third-party sellers do stock their products, I always worry that it could be old stock not of the usual quality so I would only buy from Amazon directly. Secondly is through Beauty Joint, a US-based website which stocks a whole host of drugstore brands and offers cheap international shipping. What is calculated at the checkout is what you pay. Thirdly is through Beauty Crowd, which is a UK-based website so there's no waiting around for things to arrive. Whilst some of their products are priced considerably higher than they are in the US, Milani is pretty much spot on in terms of being the same prices as they would be if you were converting the dollars to pounds.
Baked Bronzer in Glow | £8.95
Starting with the newest addition to my stash: the baked bronzer. I chose the shade Glow as it was quite hard to tell online how deep the colour would be. Beauty Crowd stocks two shades but Beauty Joint also has a third. It has a shimmer in it that looks dewy and glow-y on the skin. It is definitely very warm in tone but not to the extent that it's orange; it's just a really true golden shade that's really lovely as a highlight on deeper skin or can be used as a more traditional bronzer on fairer skin. I kind of do a bit of both and apply this down the centre of my face and across my cheeks before I put on a blusher.
Baked Blushes | £6 each
Next is their much-loved Baked Blushes. These highlighting blushers are absolutely stunning both in texture and appearance. I'm rarely a lover of budget products when it comes to blusher but these are not only beautiful one the cheeks, but they apply remarkably well and the staying-powder is pretty good so they don't go patchy. Inside you can flip the pan out and as with the bronzer you have a mirror and a little brush. Whilst I don't use the brush, I find the mirror really useful.
Luminoso
Perhaps the best-known of the bunch and with very good reason. This is very similar in formula and finish to my beloved Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. It does have tiny particles of glitter in there but this doesn't translate to the skin, it just gives a slightly dewy look. It's a beautiful, subtle peach tone that's almost universally flattering. If you were to pick on thing from Milani, this is a great place to start.
Berry Amore
This has a little more of a noticeable shimmer in it than Luminoso, however it doesn't look glittery at all on the skin. If I had to compare the formula to high-end product it would be the Laura Geller Blush n Brightens. The shade isn't as deep as the name may suggest, and it's somewhere between a plum and a peach shade. If you want to try a more berry-toned blusher for Autumn but something that's daytime-approriate and not too dramatic then this is for you.
Rose D'Oro
This is pretty similar to Berry Amore both in terms of finish and colour. I would say this has more of a bronze to it though so is probably more suited for warmer skin tones. It's a sort of blusher and bronzer in one.
Terra Sole
This is pretty different to the others and unfortunately I think it may have been discontinued, as I can't seem to find it in stock anywhere. The formula differs from the others as it is mostly matte with the tiniest bit of sheen to it. The colour is really unique as well; somewhere between terracotta and brick red. Although it's pigmented, it doesn't leave you looking like a clown, you just apply it lightly and build up accordingly. I would say the more matte texture means it takes a tad more work to apply than the others however it's really lovely as an all-in-one blusher and contour shade.
Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose | £8
This is a product I definitely want to get my hands on in more shades! It's quite a crumbly texture so does kick up a bit of fallout when you swirl your blush in it. Having said that it applies really easily to the cheeks, especially for a matte formula. It gives a very even finish, so whilst it fades throughout the day a little it doesn't go patchy. It's a really natural muted pink rose shade when applied.
Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Amber Nectar | £8
This is a really unusual product, it's sort of like a highlighter but it's not shimmery or glittery, it just has a very slight pearly sheen to it. Amber Nectar has a slight peachy tone to it so looks lovely with a bit of a tan. This is perfect for work or everyday when you want a bit of illumination but you don't want anything too 'glitter ball-y'.

Have you ever tried Milani products? If not, which have caught your eye?
Ooh I love Beauty Crowd and had no idea Milani was stocked on there!! I've recently dipped my toes into the world of Kiko and feel Milani is my next venture - seriously loving everything here!

Milani products are so beautiful just to look at! I've had my eyes on Luminoso for a while, I'm just worried it's too peach toned for my pale skin?
ReplyDeletewww.thesundaymode.blogspot.com.au
I can't speak from personal experience but it seems to suit a lot of skin tones and I know Heather from porcelainbeautyx.com likes Luminoso for her skin tone so maybe check out her post on it :) xx
DeleteI love looking at Milani products as much as I enjoy doing it to the CT ones, everything looks so beautiful! I don't want to use them because I always think I'll ruin them haha. I love the review in every product, so helpful! Btw, I don't know if you've seen/tried it, but do you think that Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in Bronzed Fame could be similar to Glow? I can't buy Milani products in Spain, and that bronzer looks amazing, so maybe this is kind of a dupe?
ReplyDeleteHave a good day sweetie! xx

I think the MUR formula is quite different (more subtle and a pearlier finish) but I think they're fab too so go for it if you can't get hold of Milani :) xx
DeleteThere are two Spain based websites that sell Milani products! Primor.eu and Maquillalia.com! I actually ended up in here in search for reviews and I've bought a few things from both these stores, as I live in Portugal and they both have free shipping when you spend more than 20€.
DeleteI've never tried any Milani products but always wanted to - especially their blushes! Might have to place a sneaky order soon. Thanks for sharing the info xx

The Rose Powder blush is so pretty! The only Milani product I have is Luminoso and I have a hard time getting it to show up on my skin so sometimes layer it over the top of something like Frat Boy blush from The Balm!

These are all so beautiful! I didn't know there was a UK stockist so I'm definitely going to have to buy some now!
