At risk of sounding like a complete and utter cliche; how is it Christmas Eve already?! 2019 has flown by and I can't believe we're into the festive period already. Today I thought I'd do my traditional 'highlights of what makeup I'm wearing on Christmas Day'. Hope you enjoy!

I'm honestly a lot more chilled when it comes to makeup these days, so I'm going for a look that's fresh and glowing but still festive and photo-ready! Our morning is usually quite relaxed as we don't have young children at Christmas - we'll get up sometime between 8am and 9am, have a light breakfast then get into our Christmas jumpers for prosecco and presents! My mum is hosting this year, and I haven't had Christmas at my family home in years and definitely not with as many people, so I'll definitely be helping out in the kitchen, I think. We usually get changed into something smarter for Christmas dinner and with it being quite a long day with lots of running around, I want it to be a long-wearing makeup look, as well as a pretty one.

I plan on starting with my dream team: the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer* | £39 | with the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation* (250) | £27 | full review. I love this primer; it's a pearly cream that adds a subtle, sheeny glow to the skin that's nothing too shimmery or shiny. I love the Fenty because it's a 'proper' foundation but it's hydrating and natural on the skin; you can sheer it out or build up the coverage depending on what sort of look you're going for. It's long-wearing and it looks like skin, which is fundamentally what I want! It's nothing too overtly dewy; it's just fresh and meshes with the skin perfectly. I plan on setting this with my beloved Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder* | £42 | full review. This is a super finely-milled powder that locks makeup in place without making your complexion look flat or overly matte.

For the eyes, I'm actually going to use a product I got for Christmas last year; the Zoeva Unique Reflection Eyeshadow Palette | £21 | full review. This is a beautifully festive take on warm-toned eyeshadow with berry colours mixed in with the golds and slightly peachy nudes. It's a very wearable way to wear rich purples. I absolutely love the quality of Zoeva shadows too; these metallics are beautiful and look stunning on the eyes and the mattes are so easy to blend and work with. I love the looks I can create with this palette and will be going for a plum-and-gold vibe. As mascara, the Glossier Lash Slick Mascara | £14 | full review | is perfect for the occasion! It's natural, gives length and separation and - best of all - the tubing formula means it doesn't flake or smudge during the long day.

I'm going to tie in my cheek look with the eyes and lips using the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in Pillow Talk | £30. This is such a great formula, adding a natural flush of colour with a luminous glow. It takes seconds to apply and won't go patchy throughout the day. Pillow Talk is a beautiful rosy tone that's perfect with this sort of makeup look. Keeping the glow going, for bronzer, I like the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light | £45 | and the Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Highlighter in Sunset Glow* | £14. This bronzer is perfect for quick, easy, natural warmth and glow. It just meshes in with the skin, has no obvious shimmer but gives the skin glow and adds warmth without looking orange. It's my favourite more sheeny formulation. I also love the Milani highlighters with their smooth texture and pearly finish. They're natural but also give an amazing glow when they catch the light. This is my favourite shade; a sort of ambered gold-bronze.

Finally, let's talk lips! I'm running low on my Tom Ford Colour Shine Lipstick in Nubile | £40 | and it's going to be a pricey repurchase, but I honestly couldn't have my makeup collection without this product. It's got the pigmentation of a slightly more sheer lipstick but has a glossy finish that gives dimension and feels hydrating. I absolutely love this warm rosy colour and it's perfect with the other tones in this makeup look.

Whoever you're with and whatever you're doing; I hope you have a fantastic day tomorrow! I'll be back on Thursday continuing my festive and year-end content (then going into January we'll have an affordable beauty theme), so I'll see you then. What makeup will you be wearing on Christmas Day?
