A COSY WINTER EVENING ROUTINE

The nights are getting colder and darker, so I've been loving cosying up and relaxing at home once a week. These are the products I'm using and the ways in which I like to unwind...

- SKINCARE -

The first thing I like to do on a relaxing night in is take off my makeup! I'm actually really enjoying the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser* | £30 | review | for makeup removal. It's a product I'd previously only really used as a morning cleanser but it's actually really effective at shifting makeup. It smells so fresh and cucumber-y and leaves my skin soft and clean. I remove this with a damp muslin cloth and then put on a face mask (usually whilst having a soak in the bath!) I'm on my 3rd or 4th tube of the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Face Mask* | £22 | review | because it's such a great all-rounder. It's hydrating and softening when my skin is craving moisture or just looking a bit dull and tired, but honey is also amazing for helping reduce breakouts.

After letting the mask sink in for 15 minutes or so, I rinse it off and do my second cleanse. I'm really enjoying pairing my Omorovicza Cashmere Cream Cleanser* | £47 | review | with my Foreo Luna Mini 2* | £119 | review | at the moment. This cleanser is just so melting and moisturising, whilst being really nice and lightweight! The Foreo cleansing device just really massages the product into the skin, ensuring it's fully absorbed and just giving me a lovely facial at the same time.

Next I like to use a Rose Quartz Roller | on my skin - mine was about a fiver from eBay as I wasn't sure whether it was worth investing in this type of tool so I wanted to give it a test first. I either leave this in the fridge or run it under cold water and use the small end under my eyes and the larger end on the rest of my face. It just has this lovely cooling, de-puffing effect. Next I go in with my current favourite face oil - the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil | £34 | review. This is non-greasy but really hydrates and softens my skin, which is just what I want in winter weather!

I actually have a new go-to lip product for overnight, after having featured Nuxe Reve de Miel in these kinds of posts for about the last 3 years... I'm really enjoying the Primark x Alex Steinherr Sleep Spa Overnight Lip Mask | £4 | at the moment. This is a pink gel-based lip mask that leaves my lips so nice and soft by morning - it's amazing if you get dry patches! (I will be doing a full review of the collection soon, by the way, so keep an eye out...) My favourite hand cream that I use every night before bed is the Caudalie Hand & Nail Cream | £12. It's so hydrating, has a lovely grape scent and has a light texture that doesn't make my hands slippery.

- BATHTIME -

Whenever I get the chance, I like to indulge in a nice, long bath. There are two products I've been enjoying for my bathtimes: the Living Therapy Calm Bath Salts* | £22 | and the Lush Sleepy Shower Gel | £5.95 (110g). The bath salts have this lovely, relaxing, almost earthy scent to them with lavender, chamomile and sage. This just really relaxes my muscles and any tension, as well as leaving my skin feeling soft. Sleepy is a sweeter twist on lavender with notes of tonka and oat. It smells so good and lavender always calms me.

I like to use a moisturiser after having a bath to get that lovely 'soft skin against the sheets' feeling. I'm in love with the Rituals Ritual of Yalda Glow of Life Body Cream* | £18.50 | at the moment. It just has this gorgeous yoghurt-y scent with pomegranate and watermelon and has a light texture that's still rich enough for my dry skin.

- FRAGRANCE -

I'm such an advocate of pillow mists! I really like the REN & Now to Sleep Pillow Spray* | £18 | because it has this lovely earthy, herbal fragrance, so isn't overly lavender-scented if you aren't into that. I just find that using something like this helps relieve stress and tension before bed so I can sleep more easily. Whilst I'm relaxing in bed with a book, I like to have a candle on and my favourites include the Comfort Zone Tranquility Candle | £25 | and the Aromatherapy Associates Relax Candle* | £42. Tranquility has a gorgeous, aromatic, spa-like scent that fills the room but isn't at all overwhelming. It includes floral notes and cedarwood. Tranquility is also beautiful with bay and myrrh.

Have a lovely Christmas, no matter what you're doing! And I'll be back with a new post on Boxing Day. How do you like to relax and unwind on these cold winter nights?
