This month over at Cult Beauty it's all about skincare and choosing the right products to tackle your specific concerns. I often get dull, dehydrated skin and of course Spring is all about fresh, glowing skin, so today I'm going to talk you through the very best skincare for getting that radiance back. I also have a discount code for 15% off orders over £20 if you feel inspired to check out any of these products: CBXJTB (this is not affiliated, it's valid until 21/02 and you can check out the terms and conditions here). There's also an amazing competition running alongside this, so stay until the end of the post to find out how to enter.
My Skin
Although I do still get the occasional breakout, as I've gotten older, I've noticed that my main issue is lacklustre skin that can look a bit tired and dehydrated. My routine is built around trying to get my skin soft, smooth and hydrated. I include exfoliation as an important step because I do suffer from areas of hyper-pigmentation and it just helps to reveal more radiant, healthy-looking skin. If you have similar concerns then I really hope these products help! (You can pick up all of them from Cult Beauty.)
The Basics
Cleansing,
exfoliating, toning and moisturising are the key steps in any skincare routine
and for dull, dehydrated skin, I can recommend a few products that have really
worked for me. In the morning and sometimes after removing my makeup, I reach for the
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel | £31. This is best used on dry skin as it has
a gel-to-oil formula. I take a bit of time to really massage the product into
my skin before rinsing it with water. It emulsifies so is quick and easy and
won't leave behind any excess. This cleanser is packed full of vitamins and
nutrients (Vitamins A, C and E and pumpkin enzymes, to name a few) so leaves my
skin looking fresh and healthy.
I love using face mists as part of my morning skincare routine as they're so quick and fuss-free! I really recommend the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist* | £25 | for dehydrated and lacklustre skin. It contains various natural ingredients such as orange flower water, apple extract and rose flower water that smell beautiful and add that refreshing boost of hydration, leaving my skin softer and plumper.
The moisturiser I reach for when my skin needs a lightweight hydration boost is the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet* | £23. (Apologies I photographed the wrong product - there are 4 in this range with slightly different shades of pink packaging, however I'm talking about Sorbet version.) This is a gel-cream product that soothes, refreshes and hydrates my skin with grape water and antioxidants. It sorts out any dehydration lines or dry patches, giving my skin a fresh, healthy look without feeling heavy or greasy. It's perfect to use after quite an intense treatment or mask because it's incredibly calming. I don't know why it's so underrated but I'm already on my second tube!
Lately I've also been trying the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Introductory Kit* | £33 | which contains both a mini cleanser and moisturiser. It's so exciting this brand is now available on Cult Beauty and a set like this is perfect for us newbies. The cleanser has a slightly foaming cream consistency and contains both Lactic and Glycolic Acids as AHA exfoliants. It's a very gentle option that I reach for in the morning or as a second cleanse when my skin just needs a little something extra and it does the trick for me. The moisturiser also contains those magical chemical exfoliant ingredients and has a nicely nourishing texture without feeling heavy or greasy. It really smooths and hydrates, leaving my skin looking nice and fresh. Of course it's designed for daily use so it's exfoliating ingredients are in low quantities and shouldn't cause any issues unless you have particularly sensitive skin.

Quick Fixes
Also from the same Kate Somerville Kit is the famous ExfoliKate treatment. This is an intensive 2-minute miracle - the enzymes eat away at any dead skin cells and the physical exfoliation particles help the process along. If I've woken up in the morning with my skin looking a little bit worse for wear, this is an amazing option because it leaves the texture so smooth and even, as well as restoring radiance.
Sometimes you wake up in the morning and your skin just needs a little something extra or you have a big event coming up and want it to look its absolute best! It's of course no secret that I'm a die-hard fan of the Pixi Glow Tonic | £18 | for its incredible results and gentle formula. This contains Glycolic Acid, which is an AHA (essentially a chemical exfoliant) and the product should be used as a toner. It's amazing at evening out the tone, clarity and texture of the skin, as well as providing instant radiance. What makes it special for me is that it contains calming Aloe Vera and lots of other lovely ingredients, which means it doesn't feel harsh on the skin at all (just be sure to follow with a sunscreen, as Glycolic can increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun).
Another product I've been enjoying (and that can be used even on busy weekday mornings!) is the Lixir Skin Vitamin C Paste | £32. This brand will be launching on Cult Beauty before the end of the month, so keep your eye on the 'new in' section. You activate this gel-consistency product with water (so use damp fingertips to massage it into the skin) and rinse after a few minutes. It's an instant hydration and radiance booster, reviving tired-looking skin so it feels smooth and looks healthy.
I don't want to speak too soon by I think the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask* | £55.50 | might just have toppled my beloved REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask (review) from its perch! If you're looking for a product that gives you instant results then you can't go wrong with this (though I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin types). It contains both physical exfoliation (in the form of microdermabrasion crystals) and and chemical exfoliants (in the form of AHAs). You simply massage a thin layer over the skin, leave for 5 minutes or so and rinse. My skin has never felt so smooth or looked so alive! It's like a 'good skin day' in a jar, though it's an intense treatment, so I'd recommend only using this about once a week (and not pairing it with any other AHA-based products). All in all, it lives up to the incredible things I'd heard about it and it's kind of life-changing...

The Overnight Miracles
I love an overnight treatment because it means I wake up with fresh, glowing skin for the next day without having to mess around applying and rinsing off a traditional face mask. I've really been loving the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask* | £40. It's a gel formula that absorbs into the skin without leaving it tacky and contains a cocktail of hydrating and glow-boosting ingredients like AHAs, Amino Acids and Hyaluronic Acid. By the morning my skin looks smooth, fresh, healthy and hydrated and this isn't at all irritating on the skin or messy to apply, so I use it regularly to keep my skin looking its best.
A gorgeous product to follow one of the more intensive treatments I've mentioned is the Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial* | £49. This is a super-lightweight oil-serum that doesn't make the skin oily or leave any excess on the surface. Its ingredients include various essential oils, Omegas and Vitamins E and C. It's amazing for plumping up the skin and leaving it smooth and hydrated, all of which makes it the perfect overnight antidote for dull, tired skin.

For me, nothing beats Pixi Glow Tonic! It gets mentioned so much but I think it's for good reason. I still love it but recently tried the Naturally Radiant version and it's definitely comparable!

I have just gotten a sample of the Glow Recipe Mask, and I can't wait to use it! I also love the PTR Enzyme Mask, and cannot quite decide between that and REN, although I think the addition of the scrubbiness gives my vote to PTR.
