For my next instalment of my Most Reached-For series we're talking eyeshadows! Again, I've tried to be as intuitive as possible with this and pretty much grabbed whatever I gravitate to most in terms of palettes, singles and cream formulas.
Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette | £18 | If you love warm eyeshadows then this is a must-have in your makeup collection. I just think the shades work perfectly together; you've got your warm nudes and some little pops of colour. I love using the gold, brown and bronze shades and then putting a bit of the cranberry colour in the the crease to make the look a bit more special. The formula is amazing, especially for the price. I find both the shimmers and the mattes to be smooth, pigmented and easy to work with. The longevity is also pretty good with these.

Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette | $42 | UK shipping | Every time I open this palette, these shades just make me melt! (Yep, that's my reaction to makeup...) They're honestly just coppery, bronze-y, golden perfection. The formulation is amazing; it does have a bit of fallout but they're so easy to apply and blend out. They're very smooth and every single shade has amazing pigmentation. The longevity is fine, though not the best in my collection, however for these beautiful warm tones I'm willing to deal with it.
Too Faced Natural Eyes Eyeshadow Palette | £32 | This is one of those palettes I reach for regularly on a daily basis because it just always works! It has a nice mix of mattes and shimmers, plus I use every single shade. It can be used to create an everyday work-appropriate look or in the evening to do a nude smoky eye. As you'd expect if you're familiar with Too Faced, the eyeshadows themselves all have such good colour payoff and blend beautifully with very little fallout. I'm also impressed with the longevity of my eyeshadow looks when I use this palette.
ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Sunset Blvd | $5 | Hopefully this is still in stock when this post goes up! It was limited edition but they recently re-released it and obviously I stocked up because I'm already on my second pot. It's an unusual spongy-cream formula that can be applied with one quick swipe and will last you all day long. The shade itself is this gorgeous, understated beige with a muted golden sheen. I wore this SO much last summer because it's perfect with a everyday bronzed beach kind of makeup look.
ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Kathleenlights | $5 | This is in the same formula but has a more opaque, pigmented, shimmery finish. It has an almost dewy metallic finish. It's a perfect shade for Autumn/Winter, as it's a warm, almost orange-toned gold shade. I love it used on the centre of the lid for an evening look.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze | £4.99 | This is one of the first cream eyeshadows I ever bought and it started a love affair that's still going strong! I've tried a lot of different formulas but this remains my benchmark, as I've had products over 4x the price of this that haven't been as long-lasting. I've genuinely worn this for 24 hours before (don't ask) and it was still in place! I also regularly wear this on holiday in the heat and it doesn't crease. Despite being completely bullet-proof, when first applied it does still have enough movement to blend out, however when it sets it won't move. This is a dewy bronze shade that looks so multi-faceted on the lids, making it seem like you put in way more effort than you did!
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Taupe | £23 | Along with On & On Bronze, this is one of only two eyeshadows I've ever totally used up (Twice, in this case!) I use this to prime my eyelids pretty much every day - on my skin tone it's that perfect neutral nude that's neither too warm nor too cool in tone, so it works under all of my eyeshadow looks. It's so smooth and creamy to apply but once it sets, it doesn't move or crease and makes my powder eyeshadows appear more pigmented plus increases their longevity.
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Shimma Shimma | £4.95 | The cost of these went up for a while, which was a real shame, however it looks like they're now back to their original purse-friendly price! This is just a classic champagne-white highlighting shade. I use it near enough every day on my inner corner and it always works! It's pigmented and lasts all day, even on my watery eyes.
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Peach Smoothie | This is another shade I use all the time - it's just the perfect transition colour. What I'm not keen on is the fallout this kicks up, but I can live with it because I like the pigmentation and how easy it is to blend out. It's a matte medium-light peach tone, so works with most of my warm makeup looks.
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Frappe | Although it's the same formula as Peach Smoothie, this doesn't have much fallout at all but still has that colour payoff and longevity (generally speaking, Makeup Geek do some of the most long-wearing eyeshadows out there). This is a warm caramel brown matte shade that's great in the crease with any brown, gold or bronze look.

This is a warm caramel brown matte shade that's great in the crease with any brown, gold or bronze look.
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Cocoa Bear | Ok, so this is in a similar sort of family to Frappe and in terms of the texture and application, it's also very much alike. The colour is a deeper, almost red-toned brown that can be used in the crease or on the outer corner for a brown smoky eye.
Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow in Pan Grandstand | £7.95 | I absolutely love the Foiled finish from Makeup Geek and Grandstand is a shade I reach for over and over again. It has the most amazing wet-look metallic finish, and whilst not quite as long-wearing as the original formula, it does still last well on me. The colour is a warm coppery/rose-gold shimmer.
MAC Pro Refill Pan in All That Glitters | £10 | Whilst I don't use this as much as I once did, it's still one of the few powder eyeshadow I'm close to hitting pan on! It's one of those perfect 'one-swipe' shades that you can put all over the lid and go. The colour is hard to describe but it's a sort of golden-bronzed warm nude. It has a Veluxe Pearl finish, so the sheen is very subtle.
MAC Pro Refill Pan in Woodwinked | £10 | This is the same finish as All That Glitters so is quite similar in terms of longevity and how the shimmer looks. This is a warm bronzed/antique gold that's one of the most 'me' eyeshadows in existence. It works whether I'm going for a bronzed eye in the summer or a warm look in Autumn/Winter. I reach for it time and time again, both for daytime and evening wear.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Single in Red Earth | £10 | I'd say Anastasia has one of my favourite single eyeshadow formulas! I find their mattes to be creamy, with very little fallout so they blend beautifully and have good wear-time. Red Earth is a muted pinky-brown matte that I love to use in the crease. It goes with pretty much any warm eyeshadow look and really adds something extra.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Single in Cognac | £10 | This is one of their shimmer shades, however it isn't overly glittery, it has more of a muted sheen. I like to use this deep, rich reddish-purple-brown tone on the outer corner and/or to smoke out the lower lash line.
MAC Pro Refill Pan in All That Glitters | £10 | Whilst I don't use this as much as I once did, it's still one of the few powder eyeshadow I'm close to hitting pan on! Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Shadow Single in Truffle | £10 | In terms of the finish and how I use it, this is very similar to Cognac. However the colour is a darker, being a deep, warm plum tone so it's more of an evening colour for me.
What are your most reached-for eyeshadows?
I absolutely love Maybelline On and On Bronze! Such a great everyday shade x

So many of my favourites here - I love the Unzipped palette too and, of course, MAC Woodwinked. Every time you post about Bobbi Brown Taupe, I tell myself I need it xx
ReplyDeleteBeautylymin
I use it pretty much everyday and have jut run out of my second haha so definitely can recommend it xx
DeleteI've wanted to try the Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette for absolutely ages! I've also wanted to try Woodwinked for ages, it's just a hands down perfect autumnal shade - My most used will have to be Weenie and La La from Colourpop xx

I reach for the Maybelline The Nudes palette almost everyday. It only costs a little over $10 and the colors are natural and beautiful! You really make me want to try some Colourpop eyeshadows. I have been wanting to try them for awhile, but the ones you listed are BEAUTIFUL!! :)
ReplyDeleteThey have such an amazing selection of colours! xx
DeleteI knew this was going to be an incredible post because we have such similar taste. The Lorac palette is definitely one I don't need but want so badly. I love that you use every shade in the Too Faced palette - in the matte one I don't really use the larger 'highlighter' shades which seems like such a waste even though I love all the smaller shadows. Sunset BLVD is an incredible shade...they should make it permanent xxx
ReplyDeleteUmmBabyBeauty
I know what you mean - I wish they were all the same size as I'm about to hit pan on Push Up, which is my favourite shade! xx
DeleteOooh I need the Cocoa Blend palette! The too faced is also one of my faves!

Some great picks, I haven't tried the Zoeva palette you mentioned but I have been reaching for the Caramel Melange palette a lot since purchasing. I love the look of MUG Grandstand.

DeleteThe Lorac palette looks amazing! Id say my Lorac Pro Palette, Kat Von D Shade and Light and some MUG and UD shadows are my most reached for!

At that point I wonder if I'll ever get the Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette - I'm not a fan of buying online, but I just know I'll use this palette all the time. My most reached-for palette is the Naked 1 palette, generally in the autumn/winter, and in the spring/summer I tend to wear the Naked 3 palette a lot. They both have all the shades you'd need and they last all day on my skin without any creasing at all!

I have a feeling that on & on bronze is called 'Bad to the Bronze' here in Australia, and if it is the same one, YESSSSS i agree. I had my first one for yeaaaaars before it dried up, and I have been meaning to go repurchase it, so this is the reminder I needed :)
ReplyDeletex Tash | Becomingtashh.com

I've been loving using the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette recently, so much so that I've got a blog post of it coming soon-it needs it's own mention! I adore the look of the Lorac palette, I'm still yet to try anything from them, but all the shades in the palette just look amazing and brilliant for everyday use. I also quite like the yellow packaging is that weird?!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte / Charlotte's Picks
I thought it might be a bit flimsy but it's actually held up really well! xx
DeleteFrappe and Cocoa bear are two of my favourite shades to! I love the Zoeva Cocoa blend palette, although I don't use it as much as i should! The Lorac palette is so stunning, I need it in my collection xx

ReplyDeleteWe definitely have the same taste in eyeshadows. I pretty much love any shimmery neutral there is. Even though they are a bit older, all that glitters, too faced natural eyes palette, and UD naked are my all time favorites! xo Kelly http://happypandabeautyblog.blogspot.com/
