ColourPop & Ofra Haul (+ Shipping to the UK)

I think I've become a certified US beauty junkie; I guess I always want what's hard to get hold of! This time I've got 3 orders: 2 from ColourPop and 1 from Ofra. I will go into all the details on the ordering process and costs involved in shipping these to the UK too (though I can only talk about my own personal experience).

ColourPop

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of ColourPop; I just think they offer such incredible quality at a really low price-point. They're cheaper and so much better than your standard drugstore products 99% of the time! Their website also shows helpful and true-to-life swatches of most of their products on various skin tones.

Super Shock Eyeshadows in Nillionaire | $5 | This is a really lovely, slightly cooler-toned gold shade. It has a Metallic finish so is pretty glittery, but in a good way! It has the smooth, pigmented cream-based formula that's ColourPop's signature. I personally really like to use this patted on the centre of the lid to add a bit of glitzy to a neutral eyeshadow look. It doesn't feel at all greasy in texture and doesn't crease or wear away after a few hours.

Super Shock Eyeshadows in On the Rocks | $5 | This is very similar in formula and quality to Nillionaire and I do tend to use it in the same sort of way. This is more of a warm golden-bronze with orange undertones. Again, it has a very shimmery Metallic finish.

Super Shock Eyeshadows in Mooning | $5 | Mooning is a little different from the other shades I picked up because it's a Pearlised finish and is a much deeper shade. It's a kind of brown with black undertones and a less obviously glittery sheen. Because it's a darker shade and I prefer to use it on the outer part of my eyelid, I tend to go for a flat synthetic brush when it comes to application. Otherwise, it still has that great colour payoff and longevity.

Cheek Shock Highlighter in Avalon | $8 | I'm not going to lie; I picked this up because I missed out on Churro, which was a limited edition marble-effect highlighter that blended together 3 shades: Stole the Show, Wisp and Avalon. I already have Wisp so decided I'd make my own darn Churro! (UPDATE: I have since managed to order Churro and am awaiting it's arrival!) This is a gorgeous golden-bronze-rose cream highlighter. I definitely feel like this is a 'blusher-topper' as opposed to something I'd be applying all over my face because it comes off as having quite a strong colour on me. However I really like it and it's almost a 3-in-1 blusher, bronzer and highlighter that will be perfect for a bronzed Summer makeup look. I love the smooth, non-greasy, effortless-to-blend formula and how it has a gorgeous, dewy metallic sheen that's free from chunks of glitter.

Sculpting Stix in New Renaissance | $5 | It absolutely kills me to speak negatively of a ColourPop product, however if I didn't LOVE the brand it probably wouldn't be  so disappointing to me. I know it's only $5 but when you're shipping to the UK, you want every penny you spend on ColourPop to be worth the shipping and tax. When I first went to use this, I pressed down gently and the entire tip crumbled off - not a good start! The shade is a little dark on me but that's my fault I guess. I just didn't find that this blended out very well on my skin. It just seems to stay as a 'stripe'. It's extra disappointing because I loooove LOVE LOVE their bronzers, so my hopes were high. Overall you're probably better picking up one of their cool-toned matte bronzers.

Lippie Stix in Polite Society | $6 | I actually think the collection that this is a part of has been discontinued! It's such a shame because this is a lovely shade. I'm a big fan of ColourPop's Matte Lippie Stix; though for me they're definitely more of a creamy satin finish. This is a gorgeous warm peachy-nude shade that's perfect for an everyday Summer lip.

Ultra Satin Lip in Alyssa | $6 | I totally love the Ultra Satin formula; it's so soft and non-drying but still has a pretty matte finish and amazing longevity. I picked up two of the new Kathleen Lights shades, the first of which is Alyssa. I do think this is borderline too light for me. It's a pinky-mauve shade with slightly cool undertones. Think something like MAC's Brave or Faux. I will give this a proper go, however I'm not convinced it suits me. Also I'm not sure if I got a faulty batch or if they've changed the brushes, but the doe-foot applicator is weirdly short and fluffy on both the Kathleen Lights shades I've got (which isn't the case with my others).

Ultra Satin Lip in November | $6 | This is a much warmer, brighter peachy-toned pink that suits me much more than Alyssa. It's still a little different for me but it's a really nice one for Summer and is still wearable. It does, however have the same issue with the applicator. If this is a new applicator they'll be pushing ahead with; it's not an improvement as I find the original one makes it far easier to apply the product!

Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey | $6 | This has the normal applicator, luckily. I really thought I'd love this shade but it is a little bit too purple for me, I think. It's described as a 'mauve' but it's definitely more on the cool side of mauve.

Ordering ColourPop to the UK

On the 12th of July ColourPop officially began shipping internationally. Before that, as I've discussed previously, I was ordering via Shipito and you can read about that process here. I'd actually done a Shipito order just before the announcement but when the Kathleen Lights collaboration was released I decided to order the two Ultra Satin lip shades. If you want to read about my original method then check out the post I linked and I will talk a bit about ordering directly from ColourPop here. I knew it wouldn't be cheap but I was still somehow shocked at just how expensive the shipping is!

If you order 1 or 2 products it's $15 however if you add any more than that to your basket you get nudged into the $25 shipping bracket. Granted, you can add up to 8 products (I did a few little tests) and still only pay the $25 however that feels like a lot against the price of the products themselves and note that this does not include any customs charges. The order took 7 days to arrive, not bad going considering they took 2 days to dispatch it. As my order was under £15 in value for the products, I was not liable to pay customs this time. However I honestly think I will stick to Shipito in future because it's honestly not all that much extra effort and I can order a good 8 products from ColourPop and pay less than $15 in shipping and insurance. Personally I'm cheap and would rather wait longer! My latest Shipito took 2 weeks to arrive and I ordered 7 products for under $15 in shipping. Obviously the bigger order meant I got a custom charge of £12, though I have somehow avoided this in the past before.

Ofra

I'd heard so much about the Ofra Cosmetics and their liquid lipsticks but had no idea it was possible to order directly from their website to the UK! They aren't cheap at $20 each however there are always discount codes. The packaging is basic but stylish enough and functional. These have a standard doe-foot applicator, which works fine for the consistency of the product. I picked up two shades that were in collaboration with some of the YouTubers I'm subscribed to, however they probably would've been the shades I went for regardless.

Ofra x Manny MUA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Charmed | $19.90

This is a gorgeous dusky pink shade with mauve undertones created by Manny MUA. You can also get this as a bundle with his other two shades with Ofra at a reduced price. It's perfect if you find shades like Sephora's Marvellous Mauve and Stila's Patina to be a bit too purple and want something with a more pinky-plummy tone.

Ofra x Kathleenlights Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Miami Fever | $19.90

This is one of two shades Kathleenlights created with Ofra and out of all their shades, this is the one I'd heard THE MOST about! It's this amazing deep burnt orange with reddish undertones. I was a little apprehensive ordering this online, however luckily it turns out that it really suits me. It's definitely become one of my go-to summer evening shades.

Across the shades I tried, I do find the formula to be consistent. It's not a very fluid liquid lipstick, it's more mousse-like (think the Stila ones if you've ever tried those) however they're still very pigmented and opaque. They go on very smoothly with no streakiness and I actually find them very comfortable on first application. I can't fault the wear-time; with each of these shades I only really had to touch up over lunch and I did find you could layer up without the shade looking strange or peeling. However I do find that the longer you wear them, the more dry they look and feel on your lips so I definitely recommend using a balm before re-applying to avoid that 'lick your lips' feeling. What I really don't like about these is the scent! It smells like chemicals covered up with the standard vanilla lipstick scent - yuck!

Overall I really like these and Miami Fever especially is a really unique shade and I'm glad to have them in my collection. I would say though that there are better liquid lipstick formulas out there (Dose of Colours, the Balm and ColourPop Ultra Satin to name a few), however given how quick, easy and affordable these were to order I'm definitely glad I went for it.

Ordering Ofra to the UK

My big tip for ordering from Ofra is to find a discount code because so many YouTubers have them and you can get 30% off! I used a 30% discount code which gave me $13-ish off and shipping came to around $16, so it essentially cancelled out the cost, which isn't bad at all! My order came in an impressive 7 days, though the website indicated it could be as much as 5 weeks so I'm sure it will vary, however I was beyond impressed with that! I also received no customs fees on arrival.

Have you tried any products from Ofra or ColourPop? What are your favourites?

  5. I got the ColourPop Alyssa shade too! It is gorgeous isn't it! I am still using Shipito as it is much cheaper and I never get custom charges. I do think CP shipping prices are ridiculous especially as most people will end up getting custom charges too.

I need to try Ofra lip products, I have seen a few shades I like so I might do a small order soon!

  7. I find it hilarious that Colourpop shipping is now available in the UK, yet the shipping has skyrocketed. Even to Canada, which was an original country, their shipping jumped, even if not by much :/
Yet I find it takes almost 2 weeks for delivery >:(
As with Ofra, if you wait long enough, occasionally Kathleen Lights gets 40% off! However I would avoid any of Manny's any products. After that snapchat controversy, I avoid him and Gerard cosmetics.

  26. Such an incredibly helpful post, lovely! I have never ordered ColourPop but surely, I am so tempted. Ahh, I nearly felt your pain when you talked about a few disappointments. Sometimes you just never know what arrives in that parcel and if the product (and the shade) is going to be the "IT". Have decided I loved Polite Society shade and then read that it was discontinued (aww!!). Miami Fever is insanely beautiful!!! <3

I love the stuff you got though, the ofra lippies look amazing! Not sure I can justify the price but after seeing the swatches I might just cave in!
