7 Products You Have to Try from ColourPop

ColourPop is annoyingly difficult to get hold of in the UK (find out about my shipping method and experience here) so if you’re placing an order, you want it to be worth the effort! Their huge range is a little intimidating so I thought I’d pick out 7 products I really recommend checking out if you’re placing an order. If you get a customs charge; I promise these products are worth it! (UPDATE: As of 12/07/16 ColourPop will be shipping internationally - yay!)

ColourPop are a relatively new brand and I believe they’ve only been going for a couple of years. Their products are really affordable so I’d still argue that they’re well worth shipping to the UK because even with the associated costs you’re still only paying drugstore-equivalent prices. The packaging is pretty cute for the price as well, though I do find the writing tends to wear of the products quite quickly. The quality has never truly disappointed me in all honesty; even when I’ve ordered online and the colour hasn’t quite been what I’d expected, I couldn’t fault their formulas. The vast majority of ColourPop's products are in cream form, however it's a really unusual texture that feels bouncy and almost mousse-like.

Cheek Shock Highlighter in Dream Catcher | $8 | I really love this product because it's so pigmented and not at all greasy. It has a light, almost fluffy cream texture that just blends out beautifully on the skin. The colour itself is a light, bright gold, however what makes this really special is the pinky-peach iridescent sheen. I honestly don't own anything like this and it looks beautiful but still nice and natural on the tops of the cheekbones. It's nothing too glittery but gives a dewy finish without the shine.

Cheek Shock Blush in Between the Sheets | $8 | This is an almost cream-to-matte formula that's so pigmented and not shiny or dewy at all. This blusher has a completely matte look and gives such a natural flush of colour to the cheeks. I just use my fingers with this (as I do with the highlighters and eyeshadows) and it can be applied in just a few seconds. It's a sort of light pinky-mauvey-beige shade that's perfect for everyday wear. It doesn't fade away or go greasy or patchy throughout the day either.

ColourPop Cheek Shock Bronzer in Carry On | $8 | The ColourPop bronzers really are the hidden gem from the range because I really don't hear as much about them as the rest of their products. They're honestly fantastic! The texture is just so easy to work with; it blends out effortlessly and gives the most natural colour to the skin. It has a similar formula to the blush because it isn't at all slippery in texture and doesn't wear away patchily. The shade I've picked here is Carry On, though their range is vast and I'm sure there's something in there for almost any skin tone. This one has a completely matte finish and is a warm-toned medium brown colour.

Super Shock Eyeshadow in Sunset Blvd | $5 | This is just one of my all-time favourite single eyeshadows; it's stunning as a wash of colour across the lid on those low-maintenance days. The cream formula means it can be applied with my fingers in literally a couple of swipes. It has a Pearlised finish, which means it has a really subtle sheen to it. The colour itself is hard to describe but I'm going to go with bronze-gold-nude. Again, there's no greasiness and this applies beautifully. It lasts so well on my lids without fading or creasing all day long.

Super Shock Eyeshadow in La La | $5 | This one has an Ultra Metallic finish, so it's seriously pigmented and dewy-looking on the lids; think foiled eyeshadow in cream form. Again it has the same longevity and ease of application. You can wear it across the lid to look like you put in more effort than you really did or you can do a nude eye look and just press this into the centre of the lid to make it pop.

Matte Lippie Stix in Brink | $5 | Although this is billed as 'matte', I'd consider it to be a satin finish as it does still have that creaminess to the formula and sheen to the finish (side-note: ColourPop now have a Matte X range, which is more of a true matte formula). It's so pigmented and I totally love the shade; it's sort of like all my favourite nude lipsticks rolled into one! I'd describe it as a mid-toned warm brown nude with mauve undertones. It isn't as long-wearing as a true matte lipstick however it really does feel very comfortable to wear.

Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park | $6 | I personally find the Ultra Matte Lips too drying, so when the Satin formula was released, I was all over it! I think that Echo Park has become my favourite shade; it's a gorgeous warm-toned peach-brown nude. I wasn't sure if this would suit my skin tone when I was searching online for swatches, however it turned out to be perfect. The formula has amazing colour payoff but is so comfortable and non-drying on the lips. It's also still really long-lasting! Not *quite* as durable as the true matte liquid lipsticks by ColourPop but it's well worth it to have a less dry feel.

  1. I love Colourpop Creme Gel liner in Get Paid. Its a very pretty rose gold shade and their creme liner stays on my waterline for 7 hours (I have very watery eyes). The only con of the pencils is that they are prone to breakage. If you are ready to be a tad bit careful, these are well worth $5!

  6. Yes yes yes! I am yet to buy anything from colourpop as it is a bit of a pain to get them to the UK but I'm aiming to do a massive haul very soon! Have added Carry On and La La to my list now because I am a die-hard neutral fan and these are so my tones and shades! xx

  7. Brink is one of my favourite shades. I haven't tried the satin lips but Echo park will definitely be on the list! I need sunset Blvd too. How do you apply the bronzer? I find applying the highlighters best for my fingers but I'm not sure i'd be able to achieve flawless application with bronzer xx

  8. I agree: the writings wear off very easily, that tends to happen often with these kind of brands, Ofra Cosmetic is just the same for instance! I find the matte Lippie Stix's formula closer to a satin finish than a matte one too! I believe I will be ordering some of their bronzers this week-end, I've wanted to try them for so long!
