Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle Review

The Revlon Lip Butters (£7.99) are something of a cult classic, so when they were included in a 2 for £10 at Superdrug I just had to pick one up. Revlon is one of those brands I don't naturally gravitate towards, as I feel the branding appeals more to older women, however I know they do have some of the best drugstore products around.

The pigmentation seems to vary widely across the range; though they all fall somewhere between a lipstick and a tinted lip balm. Pink Truffle seems to be one of the sheerer shades, adding a glossy sheen and a hint of natural colour. As a result it doesn't swatch so well! But here are the swatches anyway; the left is without flash and the right is with:

 As it's such a sheer colour, here is a before (left) and after (right) to give you an idea of the difference it makes. 

The finished look is a nice, natural touch of rose. I'm really not into lipgloss, I'd even go so far as to say I dislike it! So for me I'll always get a lipstick product with a glossy finish if that's the look I'm going for. This definitely fits the bill.

It lasted me around 3 hours when eating or drinking, which was expected as it's a gloss-finish product, so you can probably get another hour or so out of it if you aren't going to be eating/drinking. When it does fade there's still a nice, subtle flush of colour.

All in all I really like the concept of something between a tinted lipbalm and a lipstick and I really love this natural, everyday muted pink. Now I've entered the workplace I've come to appreciate a good subtle lip product.
