I'm sure to the regular readers amongst you, this post is a little like deja vu, as I did post when these originally came out individually last year. However I thought it was worth writing this to show you the Radiance Palette (£8) version as well as to announce that this is now available in the hundreds of Superdrug branches that stock Makeup Revolution. The palette consists of 3 highlighters, which look very much like a certain Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette...
I picked this up as I really needed to head off and as there was a 3 for 2 in Superdrug, it would've been silly not to get a third item. I do just prefer palettes and also I thought this would be great for travelling as all three shades are lovely and the packaging is just so compact. Also, I think Makeup Revolution's packaging is really secure; I go away a lot and have never had any issues with their palettes and I have a few of them!
Onto the highlighters themselves; there are three shades in this palette. There's a neutral beige (Breathe), a slightly frosty cream shade (Exhale) and a golden colour (Glow). I think you will probably have favourites based on your skin tone but personally I think that Breathe is the perfect Spring or Autumn shade, Exhale is a little bit of Winter sparkle and Glow is great for a deep Summer look. Personally Breathe is my everyday shade as I think it suits my complexion best, Glow also works nicely, whereas Exhale is a little lighter than I usually go.
The texture and quality are unlike any drugstore product I've ever tried. These are honestly the best highlighters you are going to get at this price-point. They're so soft yet don't have much fall-out at all, they look so natural on the skin and whilst they have a sheen-y shimmer to them there's not bits of glitter. It really does feel like a much more premium product and I can say I'd happily have paid about £20 for this, but seeing as Makeup Revolution are letting us have it for £8, I'm not complaining!
I do actually have one of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders - Dim Light, which I think Breathe is a dupe for. You can see comparison swatches here. As I mentioned in the Hourglass dupe post, I think that the Radiant Light Highlighters are more of a highlighter in that they aren't quite as finely milled and more pigmented, compared to the Hourglass versions, which are more like setting powders. Personally, I found the Hourglass really overrated and too expensive so I think these are a really great alternative. To be honest I feel like I prefer the fact that these are more pigmented, as I like the fact they just look like really natural highlighters.
In short: if you don't own this, please go to your local Superdrug to rectify the situation, as you will not be disappointed!
Do you love highlighter? Have you tried these?
I have this and I love it so much, and as you have said for that price you would just be silly to not pick it up. Loving MUR at the moment and I am more then happy that my local superdrug now stocks it :)

Delete*hides wallet* I think the award for the most innovative makeup brand should go to MUR. They never disappoint especially when it comes to creating similar high end brands that are way more affordable with good quality. I have not seen this in Superdrug yet but will keep an eye. I just bought a few things from MUR via Superdrug since they were having their 3 for 2 offer!!..Thanks for posting this...xx

DeleteYou will be thinking I'm stalking you at this rate but I just wanted to say thank you again for this post! I found the link to this post from your eyeshadow ones and also put this on my Christmas list. I have a few questions and they may sound really silly but I wondered if you could help me.
ReplyDeleteCan you use the Glow as a sort of bronzer when trying to contour? I'm very pale so don't really go in for the whole bronzer thing.
Also when you put one of the highlighters on your face where exactly do you put it and with what brush? Do you personally do like a three motion around your face? That's what I've read some people do and do you ever use these as part of your contouring (if you do that) or just as extra on top?
I also received the Makeup Revolution brushes for Christmas and have been trying to learn how to use these.
Can I use the angled contour brush to put the highlighter on-either Glow to use as a bronzer or one of the others to just use as a highlighter?
I have the MR Powder brush and have tried that with the highlighters but am not sure if I'm getting the best results. What else could I use the powder brush for?
I have the YSL Touché Eclat and have been using that as a kind of highlighter just to make my face look thinner (not proper contouring) so do I just these highlighters as an add on to that?
I'm sorry for all the questions but I hoped you might be able to help. I just want to make sure I'm using the right brush to get the best effect when I use the palette and putting it on properly as it looks so gorgeous on you!
So sorry for such a long message!
XxxX
No problem!
DeleteI personally wouldn't use it to contour as it's more of a glowing/shimmery product - you can use it to subtly enhance in kind of 'figure of 8 shape'. I put the highlighters on the tops of my cheekbones (maybe a bit on the brow bone, centre of forehead and down the centre of my nose too). I currently like using the Sigma F35 for highlighter. I would do this as well as a contour as the contour would go below my blusher and the highlight above (this image explains it: http://www.mattifycosmetics.com/s/cc_images/cache_2788416.png?t=1392830491).
I tend to use a smaller brush for highlight so it's more precise but I guess that's personal preference. You could always use the powder brush to apply Glow as a bronzer like the image I linked suggests.
Personally I use these highlighters as well as Touche Eclat as I tend to use that under my eyes really but you can use it as a normal highlighter and build a powder on top.
Hope this helps! xx
Thank you so much for your reply and so quickly too! I'm sorry I've taken so long to reply back, I am so grateful for your message and advice! That diagram has definitely helped me! I went out on the weekend and tried using the palette and used the MR Powder Brush for my blusher and the contour brush for everything else. I put it on like the diagram suggested and used the lighter colour in the palette as a sort of extra highlighter after putting on the rest of my makeup, I'm still experimenting with it all and the middle colour seems to get a little left out! What I'm doing may seem all a bit daft a newbie like. I used to wear makeup everyday but my lifestyle changed 5 years ago and I barely wear it now and now contouring has come along I've been getting all a little confused with what, to do and how to make my face look slimmer. Because I'm so pale I've never really worn bronzer (except on holidays) so it seemed a little daunting adding it into my make up regime in such a big way! I've never been a girl to pile tonnes of makeup on and was worried I'd look weird with so much on, particularly the bronzer as part of the contouring. But you've helped me make my own personalised regime up for myself which I'm enjoying experimenting with.
DeleteYou beautiful lady are responsible for all the Christmas presents I asked for, so I want you to know that your advice is definitely taken on board by people! I also asked for the MR Face Base Primer, have you ever used it? It's my first Primer, I normally just put a light moisturiser on my face before putting my makeup on but am now doing both and am going to try it with just the Primer & no moisturiser to see what it's like.
I've been using the Touché Eclat for a few years on many parts of my face, I got advice from this page & video: https://intothegloss.com/2013/07/wayne-goss-how-to-really-use-ysl-touche-eclat/
Do you use it like this as well? Thanks for letting me know I can use the Touché Eclat as a highlighter as well as the powders as I'd got into the routine of doing it, but haven't used it on my face as a highlighter as much as some people seem to do when they contour.
I'm so pale that when I put it on my face it is not a shade lighter then my face like a highlighter is supposed to be (read that somewhere!) but I guessed I could still use it as one because once rubbed in it doesn't leave any marks and blends in with my skin well. I'm sorry for the ramble, I just wanted to say thanks so much for the advice in your blog, taking the time to read my comment and replying with great advice. I really do appreciate it and sorry if I sound so silly with the make up things I do, things have changed so much since I used to wear it a lot and I'm just trying to work out a regime! XxxX
I'm glad it was helpful! I actually haven't tried that primer - I tend to use a moisturiser, let it absorb fully then do a primer (I'm using the Soap & Glory one at the moment).
DeleteI tend to just use Touche Eclat under my eyes but it's definitely a multipurpose one you can use to highlight different parts of your face.
You could maybe try a different kind of concealer for highlighting if that doesn't work - I think Em @ My Pale Skin uses the Nars concealer so they might have a good shade for you.
And no problem at all! xx
Hi! I hate glitter on my face and that makes my search for a natural wet looking highlighter kinda difficult. Would you recommend this for this purpouse?
