MY SICK DAY BEAUTY KIT

It's that time of year when colds are rife! These are the products I reach for when I'm feeling under the weather - from the pampering skincare that cheers me up to the quick and easy makeup that makes me look human again...

- SKINCARE -

At this time of year my skin can get pretty dry and if I'm feeling ill and tired, it definitely needs some extra moisture! My favourite cream-based cleanser to use in the morning or after removing my makeup is the Omorovicza Cashmere Cream Cleanser* | £47 | full review. This has such a nourishing formula but is lightweight and non-greasy. It definitely gives my skin that extra bit of love. As a toner and booster, the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Cucumber And Green Tea* | £7 | full review | is great. This is so refreshing and definitely perks up tired skin, giving my complexion some hydration and glow.

I really love using the Alpha H Vitamin E* | £29 | full review | as a serum. It just gives my skin a healthy, dewy glow, which is definitely needed when I'm feeling under the weather. It's fast-absorbing, so a really quick step in my routine that definitely makes a big difference during the winter months. I like to follow this up with the Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream | £38 | full review. This is so nourishing but not at all greasy on my skin; it just leaves things so soft and smooth as well as helping my dehydration. I usually don't get much sleep when I'm ill so an eye cream can help me look a little more awake! I'm loving the Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum* | £50 (for full size) | at the moment. It contains copper peptides and black tea to revive and depuff tired eyes.

In terms of masks and treatments, I like to keep it simple but hydrating! As as wash-off option, I really enjoy my Fresh Rose Face Mask* | £52 | full review. This has a jelly-like texture with real rose petals and really helps my skin feel moisturised and look healthier. It's quick and easy to apply and doesn't harden on the skin, so is great when I just want to give my complexion some TLC. Overnight the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask | £42 | is gorgeous! This is a cream-based leave-on formula with vitamins, ceramides and antioxidants to soften and moisturise tired skin.

- MAKEUP -

When I'm not feeling too well but still have to get up and face the world, I like to put a little bit of natural makeup on. I absolutely love my Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (St. Moritz) | £30 | full review | for everyday wear. It doesn't feel like I'm wearing much makeup and it has this gorgeous luminous finish with just enough coverage to even out the skin tone and perfect it whilst still looking very natural. I like to use my Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer (Golden Beige) | £24 | full review | under the eyes. It's nice and hydrating, plus has amazing coverage to hide those dark circles and this is a really brightening tone on me.

For colour; I think it's best to keep things simple! I want to look not like a dead body but really don't have the will to do anything too elaborate if I'm sick. For eyeshadow it has to be my By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon | £29 | full review. It's a warm bronze-brown shimmer with multidimensional finish. You can swipe this stick eyeshadow on and blend out the edges with your fingers in seconds. I also really like the Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk | £15 | full review | for bringing a bit of colour to the cheeks. This is a liquid-cream blusher I dab on with my fingers. It gives a light wash of peachy-brown nude. Finally, I really enjoy a tinted lip balm and my favourites are from Fresh - these ensure my lips stay hydrated and add a bit of colour. My current favourite is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Spice | £19.50 | which is a warm reddish-brown tone.
