Last week we took a look at some stocking-fillers and gifts under £30 but this time it's the turn of the luxury gifts. There's something I really love about giving and receiving luxury presents - after all, for me gifts are about treating people to something they want, as opposed to buying them something they need!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Unlocked Edit | £69 | full review and swatches | I'm definitely going to be doing a full review of this palette as it's been my standout product this month (I'll link the post once it's live). I don't think this will be for every skin tone, however if you're buying for someone who's medium-light through to medium-dark then this is the perfect 'do it all' palette. You get a lighter setting powder for under the eyes and a slightly darker one for the rest of the face. There's a gorgeous subtle bronzer, as well as a warm peachy-nude blusher and a mauve blusher. You also have a stunning, intense champagne-toned highlighter in here. The quality of Hourglass powders is unrivalled and I just think the shades in here are so flattering and so easy to use, that everyone from makeup enthusiasts to total beginners can enjoy this palettes (I just wish they'd reformulate their powders to make some shades that are more friendly to people of deeper skin tones than my own).
Overose Valkiria Candle | £46 | You know you've got a quality candle when it's pretty much pure fragrance melted into wax! The scent of this candle is noticeable in a room even when it's not been lit. If you know someone who's into trendy, luxury candles then this is very Instagram-friendly, as well as being incredibly high-quality. This particular scent is a gorgeous blend of fig, peaches, coconut milk and cedarwood. Yum...
Diptyque Surprise Pocket L'Ombre dan l'Eau & Baies | £38 | This is about as affordable as a Diptyque set is going to get! In here you get a mini Baies candle (though be warned - this is 30ml, not their usual mini size of 50ml, though the perfume is a lot larger than I expected, so I guess it's swings and roundabouts) which is a gorgeous blend of rose and blackcurrant - perfect for this time of year! You also get a shower oil and eau de toilette in the L'Ombre dans L'Eau which is a gorgeous woody scent, again with those notes of rose and blackcurrant. The eau de toilette is so beautiful - I have a few full-sized Diptyque fragrances and love them. The shower oil smells just as good and is so strongly fragranced that you don't even need to wear a perfume with it! It's also very nourishing. If you know someone who's a fan of this sort of scent or loves the candle and would enjoy a backup of it, this allows them to sample several of the products in this fragrance family.
Omorovicza Christmas Introductory Set* | £65 | Omorovicza isn't a cheap brand so this set is great for both skincare junkies (so they can try a selection of their range and see what they'd like to purchase the full-sized products of) but also as a real treat for people who aren't necessarily going to go out and spend that amount of money on skincare themselves. In here you get a travel size of the legendary Queen of Hungary hydrating face mist and also of the Elemental Emulsion. I'm still using the Elemental Emulsion daily so will definitely be giving it a full review at a later date. It's a gorgeous lotion that I personally use as a serum (though it will work as a moisturiser if you have oilier skin). The marine extracts and hyaluronic acid in this are so hydrating and give me such nice, soft skin. The mini Cleansing Foam is one I've tried before and unlike most foaming formulas, it leaves my skin soft and clean as opposed to stripped after use. It isn't my favourite cleanser but it does the job (whereas most of Omorovicza's products go far beyond that) - if I was designing this set I'd have included the Moor Mud Cleanser instead. Finally we have the stars of the show; the little pots of the Deep Cleansing Mask and the Thermal Cleansing Balm. Seriously; who needs to bathe in the blood of virgins when you have these two?! I'm already a fan of the Hungarian Moor Mud used in these two after trying the other cleanser from the range - it just has this incredible cleansing, smoothing, hydrating effect. Instead of draining the moisture out of my skin, the mask leaves it soooo soft. The balm also leaves my skin looking its absolute best - the softness and radiance it gives are next-level. You could use this to remove makeup but I personally want something like this to sit on my skin and work its magic (for the same reason, I will only use a mist toner after it). In here you have the basics of a really great skincare routine!
Herbivore Hydrate & Glow Natural Skincare Mini Set | £36 | Herbivore is a brand I've tried a couple of products from and this is a great-value introductory set for skincare fans. You get the Rose Hibiscus face mist in here, which I've used before - it's so hydrating, refreshing and smells great. Pink Cloud is a gorgeous gel-cream moisturiser for dewy, glowing skin. I haven't had a chance to try the Pinapple + Gemstone Mask just yet but I am going to do a post featuring Herbivore soon si I'll review it in that. Then finally you get a little bottle of the Phoenix face oil. It's 'so far, so good' with this one - it's definitely hydrating and plumps my skin nicely. I will do more of a deep-dive review on these products but I like this set; it's a great way to sample this very Insta-worthy brand and hydration and glow are really all I most of us want from our skin at this time of year!
Floral Street Wonderland Peony Eau de Parfum* | £55 | I hadn't heard of this brand before trying this fragrance but all of their scents take a flower and give it a new twist. This particular perfume is a gorgeous fruity-floral blend with peony (obviously!) along with notes like pink guava, cedarwood, raspberry flower and vanilla bean. It smells beautiful and sweet without being sickly. Being an EDP, it lasts really well on the skin and remains noticeable throughout the day. The packaging is also beautiful!
Molton Brown Muddled Plum Eau de Parfum* | £45 | I talked about the shower gel / bubble bath from this range in last week's post but if you want to splash out; there's also a proper perfume in this scent. It's a festive mix of sandalwood, saffron, plum, rum and more; it just smells like Christmas to me! This one also lasts very well on my skin, so if you know a Molton Brown fan; this is definitely worth a look.
REN Moroccan Rose Duo Gift Set* | £38 | I'm such a fan of REN skincare but somehow had never tried their body products! This gift set contains two full-sized products in special packaging designed by my favourite stationery company: Kikki K. You get the shower gel and the body lotion from the Moroccan Rose Otto collection. The oil used in these products is 100% natural and is so hydrating without feeling greasy. I normally go for something heavier, like an oil, but this lotion really works on my dry skin! The shower gel is lovely too and leaves my skin so soft. These products have a light fragrance but they aren't anything overpoweringly rose-scented. I think this is such a lovely set for the cold winter months!
Astrid Large Wine Glasses Set* | £34.95 | This set was another good Prezzybox find (I also included one of their personalised gifts in my stocking filler instalment). You get four wine glasses in here that feel such good quality and have this beautiful hammered antique gold effect on them. You can gift them in the morning and then set them out for Christmas dinner! You can also get champagne flutes in this design.
Which luxury Christmas gifts do you have your eye on this year?
