Festival-Themed Eye Makeup

Festival season is well and truly underway, so I thought I'd share with you some makeup that'll be perfect for the occasion. I'm not someone who often wears colour on the eyes but if you can't step outside your comfort zone at a festival then when can you?!

Juvia's Place The Saharan Palette | £28 | This warm, jewel-toned palette is really different for me and I'm into it! Something like the turquoise shimmer - Kia - is perfect for the lower lash-line if you just want a subtle pop of colour. A warm orange-toned matte like Sokoto or Jamila works beautifully in the crease and if you want to go all-out, opt for the lime green shimmer Woodaabe on the lid. There are also some more wearable colours in here like golds and bronzes, which you can wear across the lid and just have a little pop of pink or purple in the crease for a more understated look. The quality and texture of these shadows is A+, with the mattes being smooth and easy to work with and the shimmers having a dewy, almost foiled effect.

ColourPop Yes Please Eyeshadow Palette | $16 | This is a gorgeous warm-toned palette that's perfect for trying something a little brighter, as it contains sunshine yellows, to pink coppers to true oranges. You can make your sunset-toned look quite wearable or go all-out with this palette. There are some gorgeous, smooth-textured shimmers and some amazingly pigmented mattes. Something like Chauffeur or Bling across the lid looks amazing with Spoiled or Big Cocktails in the crease for a summery festival eyeshadow look.

Glo and Ray Pure Galaxy Eye Pigments in Dazzle Dazzle, Goldmaniac & More Electric* | £12.90 each | I honestly don't how how I'd never heard of these pigments because they're pretty amazing! I use them with MAC Fix + on a flat shader brush to ensure full pigment and that they last all day (and night) long. They work across the lid or as liners for a more subtle look. I love the duo chrome jewel tones and they create an amazing wet-look shimmer! Dazzle Dazzle is the most low-key, a pinky-toned rose gold, Goldmaniac is an orange-red duo chrome and More Electric is a purple-blue duo chrome. They're absolutely beautiful and you should definitely check them out if you're going to any sort of glitter-themed event.

Stila Magnificent Metal Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow in Diamond Dust* | £23 | I think pretty much everyone who I went to the Love Saves the Day festival back in May had this on their face! As well as working as an eyeshadow, you can also use this on the face as glitter. It's so long-lasting and comes in a sort of cream-gel formula dripping in silver glitter.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadows in La La, Kathleenlights & Boy Band | $5 each | I love the ColourPop eyeshadows - they're sort of like a spongy cream pressed pigment. These shades are all shimmers so have this amazing, dewy, metallic sheen to them. They're incredibly long-lasting and very opaque. La La is a coppery rose gold colour, Kathleenlights is a warm golden-orange tone and Boy Band is a warm reddish-brown purple (though it's beauty doesn't seem to translate as well in images!)

  9. I'm really not into festivals and don't feel like going to one (and I feel very lonely making that statement haha), but I do appreciate a fun festival makeup look! The looks involving glitter and fun colours are generally my favourite, because it really is creative and shows a different side of makeup that what we wear every day. The ColourPop Super Shock shadows are gorgeous, especially More Electric - the texture seems quite amazing too!
