About a year ago I did a little round-up of my favourite palettes so (since I seem to have accumulated several more in the meantime...) I thought it was time to give an update with the ones I'm reaching for at the moment.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in That Glow (Discontinued) | £39 | similar here | Annoyingly this shade seems to be out of stock permanently so I've linked Sun Dipped, which is super similar. I really love the formula of these Glow Kits as they give a lovely, natural, dewy glow. The formula isn't chunky or glittery at all, they just give a sun kissed look to the skin. These shades are all in the golden family and my favourite shade is the champagne-gold Dripping in Gold.
The Tarteist Blush Palette (Discontinued) | $38 | Sorry, it's another one that apparently is no longer available! However I just love Tarte blushers in general and their matte formula especially is probably one of my all-time favourites! There's also a shimmer shade in here that has a nice, subtle sheen. They're long-wearing, apply easily and blend out with minimal effort. Whilst pigmented, I don't find that they go on looking like too much. My favourite shade is Love, a vibrant mauve-pink colour that instantly lifts my complexion. All of these shades are in the pink family, though Tarte have a ton of cheek palettes, some of which are on QVC and the rest you can order from Sephora.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette | £41 | review | My love of Anastasia eyeshadows is no secret! This is a matte-heavy palette (containing just 3 shimmers), however I often use it with a shimmery cream eyeshadow as a base. It's also one of those palettes I often reach for when I'm creating a look and have a shade in my head that I need so I just dip into it to use that one. The quality is just amazing; they do have a bit of fallout but they're so pigmented, long-wearing and blend beautifully. The shade selection is perfect if you love warm tones as there's a mixture of orange, brown and pink tones in here.
Zoeva Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette | £18 | I honestly think that Zoeva probably have my favourite affordable eyeshadow palettes. The formula is just amazing; the mattes are creamy and pigmented and the shimmers incredibly intense. I find them so easy to apply and they last well on my eyelids. Overall, I just seriously rate them! This is perfect if you, like me, love really warm tones and the slimline packaging makes this palette very travel-friendly. The warm copper tone of Liquid Centre makes it one of my favourite shades and it has this amazing dewy, metallic finish. The three mattes on the second row are all great as a crease colours and I always finish off the look with Edible Gem, a purple-brown shade with gold glitter, because it really balances out the look and adds some smokiness.
The Tarteist Blush Palette (Discontinued) | $38 | Sorry, it's another one that apparently is no longer available! Zoeva Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette | £28.50 | I've neglected this in recent months but recently started reaching for it again. This is pretty much the perfect everyday eyeshadow palette because there's just everything you need for a neutral eye look. There's a good mix of mattes and shimmers, some cooler tones and some warmer shades. I genuinely think I use every single colour in this palette, which is virtually unheard of for me. Again, the formula is fantastic!
Stila Eyes Are the Window Palette in Soul | £30 | review | I feel like this is such an underrated gem! I personally love this more than something like the Urban Decay Naked palette when I want to do a bronze smoky eye look. I love the quality of these eyeshadows; they're pigmented, easy to blend out and long-wearing. Personally, I don't think there's a single dud in this collection of shades. I'm not usually one for slightly cooler tones but the ones in here really work for me. Again, there's a really good mix of shades: Kitten (a champagne shimmer) is a great highlighting shade, you get a warm crease colour, a cool crease colour and a darker one, there are some mid-toned shimmers to use on the lid and deeper shades to give a more evening-appropriate look.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Face Collection Palette | £48 | review | This is probably one of my best-ever beauty buys! Whenever I go away for a few days, I just pack this because it gives me a variation of cheek options whilst still being really compact. Becca do my absolute favourite highlighter formula; they're not at all glittery and have a smooth texture that gives an intense, dewy highlight. Champagne Pop is a golden-champagne with peachy undertones and Prosecco Pop is a true gold. There are two blusher formulas in here; Mineral and Luminous. I mainly reach for Rose Spritz (Luminous) (a peachy-pink with a golden sheen) and Amaretto (Mineral) (a luminous matte which is caramel-toned) but I often mix-match and layer these. They're pigmented, long-lasting and the colours go with a variety of makeup looks. This isn't available at the moment but they've brought it back a few times so keep your eyes peeled!
MAC Nutcracker Sweet Copper Cheek Compact (Discontinued) | £29 | Sadly this Christmas special was limited edition but if you want similar shades I'd check out the Clinique Fig Pop Blush and Laura Geller's Gilded Honey Illuminator. It's just so handy to have these two perfect cheek shades in one compact. Whisper of Gilt is a stunning warm light gold highlight; it doesn't contain a single fleck of glitter but gives a gorgeous metallic sheen. Pleasure Mode is a matte-look blusher with a very slight sheen in a warm plummy-mauve nude shade. It's quite pigmented, however blends smoothly and doesn't go patchy throughout the day.
What are your favourite makeup palettes at the moment?

That Zoeva Caramel Melange palette is calling my name! I have most of the others & love them too xx
ReplyDeleteBeautylymin
That tarte blush palette does look beautiful. It's a shame it got discontinued i've wanted to try out their amazonian clay blushes and that palette looked perfect to try out a bunch of shades. I always see people rave about zoeva palettes i don't why i've never found them appealing. I mean sure the shades look very nice but at the same time i don't feel compelled to buy them. The morphe palettes however are the ones that appeal to me the most, the shade range in their palettes look so bloody beautiful i definitely need to get me a bunch of their palettes.
ReplyDeleteThose anastasia highlighter kits look interesting but i feel torn as when it comes to high end highlighters i like an intense glow, are they comparable to becca highlighters?
www.themakeupaficionado.com
They're definitely more natural and less intense than the Becca highlighters. I'd also definitely recommend Zoeva shadows over Morphe's! xx
DeleteAll of these palettes look so lovely! I'm dying to get my hands on the Becca x Jaclyn Hill face palette but it's an arm and leg in New Zealand! Great post :)

DeleteThe stila palette is so under rated, I actually need to use it more! I love the ABH MR palette, the glow kit. and the Becca palette. I think zoeva palettes are some of the best for their price! xx

I will take one of each please! Great post! xoxo
ReplyDeleteNow that I've finally tried a Zoeva palette I can see what I've been missing out on. I really want to add Caramel Melange to my collection. Also, the bottom row of the Modern Renaissance palette is just beautiful xxx

Palettes are my drug, I just can't get enough of them. I'm determined to find one of the Becca X Jaclyn Hill palettes, I couldn't get one when they were out but I'm absolutely in love with it. Zoeva palettes always look incredible, I definitely need to pick one up. Great post!

My kind of palettes, Love the shade selection of Stila palette. Anastasia palette and becca face palette have to be my best 2016 purchases and I can't seem to get enough of those palettes. Best releases of the year. However I'm super bumped about not picking up the Nutcracker palette :( And now its haunting me haha.
