The Everyday Makeup Edit #1

It's been a while since I gave you a peak at the makeup I currently have on rotation. However this month there have been a clear few products I've been reaching for time and time again.

Lately I've been priming using the Too Faced Hangover Primer | £27. The weather is getting colder so I've switched to my winter favourite. It isn't really a pore-filling primer; it smooths out my skin a bit though and makes sure it's soft and hydrated so my base applies perfectly. There's no clinging to dry patches and it stops makeup settling into fine lines. Next I go in with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup | £31. I haven't reached for this in a while because I've always felt it was a bit much for everyday wear, however if applied with a blending sponge it gives off a more medium-full coverage (which I judge by the fact you can still see my freckles!) I don't find this foundation thick, caky, heavy or drying. It has this incredible long-wearing matte formula that never lets the shine through. It's great if you know you'll be heading out straight from work because it doesn't break up in the usual ares (like around the nose) or leave my t-zone looking greasy.

My concealer of choice for blemishes and under the eyes has been the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer | £20. You read right: I have a new concealer in my collection! It took me a while to gauge this one but I actually really like it. My only negative is that it does crease under the eyes if you don't set it pretty quickly. However aside from that it's a gorgeous concealer with a hydrating but long-wearing formula. I'd say it's medium-full coverage and looks very natural on the skin. I love this for covering dark circles, redness and any little blemishes. No surprises here: the MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural | £24 is still my go-to everyday face powder. It sets my makeup in place without being heavy at all - I'd go so far as to say it's traceless on the skin. It has a little bit of coverage and blots away shine whilst still having quite a luminous finish. It's basically the powder for people who don't like powder!

In terms of cheeks; I'll get the obvious one out of the way first! For bronzer, I'm still reaching for the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Bronzed | £20. It isn't at all orange but is still nicely warm and works perfectly for my skin tone as somewhere between a bronzer and a contour (or to quote a blog post I read recently - a 'brontour'). I just love the smooth texture of this; sometimes matte products apply patchily but that isn't the case with this at all. It has the right level of pigmentation and blends out beautifully. Next I go in with a highlighter and I can't get enough of the Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion in 02 Gold* | £28 | sat the moment. This is just the most beautiful formula, blending out effortlessly on my skin to give a natural yet high-impact highlight. The colour itself is a true gold, which I love for this time of year, and it has a metallic finish so there are no flecks of glitter at all. I always apply my blusher last to my cheeks, as I think it just makes everything look more blended together. Lately I've been reaching for an old favourite: the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure | £32. This is just a gorgeous plum-mauve shade that never looks too much. I can always rely on it to blend out seamlessly and last on my skin. It gives such a natural, luminous look, like you're glowing from within.

On the eyes, I've been loving using my Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette | £18. I must admit I do tend to do the same thing with these shades but it really is a look I love! I apply the iridescent shimmery champagne shade Sweeter End as my inner-corner highlight and the bright light gold shimmer Pure Ganache across the lid. Next I use the warm medium caramel-brown matte (Substitute for Love) as a transition shade before deepening the crease by using Freshly Toasted (a dark red-brown matte) on a precise crease brush. Next I pat the brown-bronze shimmer (Subtle Blend) on the outer part of the lid and finish with the deep pink shimmer (Warm Notes) in the crease. I love the look of a warm neutral eye with a subtle pop of colour and these shades are perfect for Autumn. I use my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils | £15.50 | next - I use the true matte black  Zero to tight line and the warm bronze brown shimmer, Smog, on the lower lash line. I love these because they're so pigmented and creamy, however set down and don't move or smudge all day.

For my winged liner there's a very exciting new addition! You regulars will know that if you cut me, I will bleed the Stila Stay All Day liner. Ok, that's an exaggeration, but I swear by that stuff and I must admit I'm hesitant to try anything new in the winged liner department. However I recently got my hands on the LA Splash Art-ki-tect Waterproof Slim Eyeliner* | £11.25 | and I'm in love! It's so pigmented and black and the brush is so precise. I love how it's almost like a tiny, tiny paintbrush as opposed to a felt tip. It gives the perfect winged liner that doesn't smudge or transfer during the day. Plus, that rose gold packaging...*swoons*. I repurchased the Benefit They're Real Mascara | £19.50 | recently and forgot how great it is! I do have drugstore mascaras I like just as much but I feel like I have been guilty of downplaying how good this is. It just gives me that separated false lash effect and a little bit of daytime-appropriate volume without any clump. It doesn't smudge or flake and I actually don't find it too tricky to remove. For my brows, it's the usual duo: the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz | £15.50 | and Benefit Gimme Brow* | £18.50. I use the spooly on the Brow Wiz to brush out my brows before and after penciling them in for a natural, everyday look. This is the right level of pigment for me and you can't really go overboard with it. If you have even brows already then you can probably just skip that and use the tinted gel alone, however I like the combination. I then set everything in place with Gimme Brow to get that fullness and ensure any unruly hairs are tamed.

Finally, my go-to lip products have both been from the ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Collection | $6 each. I just love these because they apply and look like a matte liquid lip but feel like a normal lipstick. They don't feel drying or cling to dry patches but are still so long-wearing. The formula is very comfortable to wear and isn't quite completely matte, just to warn you. First is the rose-nude Calypso, which is perfect if you want a bit of a mauve-berry colour that's daytime-appropriate. My other option is Echo Park, a lighter peachy-brown nude which goes with pretty much any makeup look I go for!

What do you think of my current everyday makeup? What have been your most-reached-for products?
