Every summer Clarins bring out the most amazing collections and I
have to say that 2016's is shaping up to be one of their best ever! When I
think of 'Summer', I think of easy, fuss-free makeup that's going to give you
that glow whilst also being very natural. The products I've tried form this
collection just seem to tick all those boxes. I've talked about a few of these products already, so it'll come as no surprise that this collection really has impressed me!
I've really been into my all-in-one cheek products lately and I
have to say that this is the most gorgeous one I've tried yet. In the centre it
has a matte pinky-coral blusher shade, on the top left there's a lighter, more
warm toned matte bronzer, opposite to that there's a deeper cool matte
bronzer and at the bottom we have a golden-bronze shade that acts as a
highlighting bronzer for me (it has a bit of a spray-over but a subtle shimmer runs right through it). It's easy to just take each shade individually or if you're
feeling lazy or you're in a rush, you can just swirl a large fluffy brush all
around the pan and apply it to your cheeks for some colour. What I also like is
that the size an positioning of each shade still makes it really easy to use
them one at a time.
The quality and texture of these powders really is lovely;
I find them pigmented but so easy and effortless to blend out without any of
the dreaded patchiness. They sit on my skin in such a natural way but take
minimal work to apply. It does only come in one colourway, which did concern me
at first but this turned out to be perfect for adding natural warmth on me.
However it would be great to see a deeper version of to, maybe with a darker
coral blusher shade (as I probably wouldn't use use the blusher shade on its
own unless I was going for a really natural look). The packaging and embossing
really is beautiful and I definitely don't find it too bulky considering you
can do your entire cheek look with it.
I love my cream eyeshadows, especially in Summer when I want
something on my eyes but can't be bothered with the fuss of getting out my
brushes and blending together multiple shades. What is really novel about
these, even before you get into the product itself, is that they come into a
tube as opposed to a stick (I sometimes worry about the eyeshadow melting or
spoldging in the lid) or a pot (they're not the most hygienic and some formulas
dry out really quickly). The design of the nozzle means you can't really
dispense too much product (which had been my only real misgiving). They're
gorgeous neutral tones in this range, and all of them have this dewy,
super-metallic formula that sets down into a pearlised sheen, which is why I'm all about for the warmer months.
Golden
Peach is true to the name, though I'd say it leans more towards being a gold
with slightly warm, peachy undertones. Copper Brown is a metallic brown shade
with bronze-gold tones mixed in. They apply very smoothly and feel creamy
when first applied but do set down in place quite quickly. A small amount will
get you a sheer wash of colour but you can easily build it up into something more
intense. I personally just use my fingers but a synthetic brush works too. I'm
looking forward to putting these to the ultimate test in Spain but so far I've
found these incredibly long-wearing and usually I find everything seems to crease on
my oily eyelids. I even find that these work without a primer on me, which is
again a rarity. I'd actually even say they work better without one, as they apply more smoothly!
I'd heard such amazing things about the Clarins lip oils so was
really intrigued when they released some tinted versions because I just love
an effortless all-in-one lip care and colour product. I'm not a fan of lipgloss
at all but for Summer I do like a sheer, sheeny lip so I'm always on the lookouts for alternatives! This is a gorgeous product in terms of being really hydrating and moisturising on my lips. It gives this gorgeous dewy look but doesn't feel at all sticky! This is a tinted version but the shade is very subtle. It just adds a little bit of natural, rosy colour for me. All in all, I love this product and I'm a little bit obsessed with re-applying it during the day. The only negative I have is that there's no SPF in this, because for a beach holiday I do love just having a single product that does it all. However I guess adding in SPF would possibly ruin the oil formula, so I can see why it wouldn't.
