What I Got for Christmas 2015 | Haul

Disclaimer blah blah blah not bragging etc... Fancy a nosey at what I got for Christmas this year? I have to say I think I've been really lucky this year. Last year I got one big present and a few little bits but this year there was no one thing I had to have but I got a lot of lovely little gifts. Also apologies for the photos in this post; I was away from home and slightly rushed and I'd thought you'd like to see this post sooner rather than weeks after Christmas!

My mum got me Space NK's Mini Shimmering Spice Candle, which has a lovely spiced cinnamon orange scent which is different to any festive candle I've tried before. One of the standout little surprises I got from my aunt is the Nuxe Bougie Prodigieuse Candle. I love the fragrance, though it's really hard to describe; a sort of warm amber nuttiness. I couldn't actually find a full sized version of this available anywhere, which is gutting as I know I'll want to repurchase this. I also got the Neom Happiness Candle, which is perfect as I'd wanted to try Neom for ages and I love fresh spa scents for my pamper evenings. The lemon comes through as the main scent and it's so clean and uplifting. I also got a scent I've had a sniff of so many times and wanted for a good year; Diptyque's L'Eau. I'm a huge fan of their complex and intriguing personal fragrances and this is no exception. It has a spicy, warm scent with some floral notes. I also got a selection Victoria's Secret Panties (anyone else hate that word?) which is perfect as they are so pretty yet comfortable.

I've been dying to try some products from the Body Shop's Spa of the World range so I was thrilled to unwrap a set containing the Hawaiian Kukui Cream and Dead Sea Salt Scrub. The body butter smells gorgeous and I've read amazing reviews for the body scrub. I also got the Origins Ginger Burst Savory Body Wash, which smells incredible! Two products I'm also very excited to try are the Rituals Hammam Body Mud and Bath Oil. The eucalyptus scent is so gorgeously refreshing.

My favourite hand cream is Soap & Glory's Hand Food so I'm very pleased to have got my hands on this little set of minis that are the perfect size for my handbag. As well as the original it contains one in the sweet but citric Sugar Crush scent as well as the yummy and indulgent Smoothie Star. If only they did Hand Food in the Smoothie Star scent all year round! I also received a set of mini goodies from the Coconut Range at the Body Shop, which will be really handy for all the travelling I do. My mum very generously got me the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Creme Body Wash as a little surprise. I love the scent of this as it's so deep and rich; not your traditional super-sweet vanilla at all and apparently these last forever.

My grandparents kindly got me the Zoeva En Taupe Brush Set, which is gorgeous! I have a couple of the brushes from the Rose Gold set but they've been used to death or are ones I keep having to wash to use with other shades so really needed duplicates of. I also got the En Taupe Palette, which looks absolutely beautiful and contains cooler tones I think my stash was in need of. I love the quality of Zoeva eyeshadows so I can't wait to give this a go.

My mum did me up a lovely little box of makeup surprises, mostly from KIKO. From the new Campus Idol Collection (she was fast with that as I've not even had a chance to check it out myself!) she picked the absolutely stunning Double Dare Eyeshadow and Eyeliner in 02 Copper and Chocolate. I'm a HUGE fan of their eyeshadow sticks so I'm excited to have my hands on a new limited edition shade, and the eyeliner is the perfect less-harsh alternative to black liner. She also got me the Rebel Romantic Perfecting Bronzer in Medium-Dark, as I'd talked about it so much and was gutted it's limited edition so now I have a back-up! I'd also been saying I wanted to try a burgundy coloured mascara so she remembered and picked me up the Super Colour Mascara in 05 Plum. Finally from KIKO she got me the Power Pro Nail Lacquer in 27 Nude (I think!) as I'd seen hers and complimented her on it. In the box there was also the Bagsy Hair Wonder Dry Shampoo, which smells lovely. I've heard a lot about this brand so can't wait to pop this in my handbag and give it a go.

I also got this year's Soap & Glory Perfect Ten Eyeshadow Palette. I've not tried this yet but I've heard amazing things about the quality of previous versions of this (it is a Christmas special) and I love the nude and plummy tones. I also got the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Amazing Grace. I'm a huge fan of the formula of Charlotte Tilbury's mattes so I can't wait to try this more spring-appropriate rose shade. Finally I got a little Laura Mercier makeup set which contained minis of several of her products. There's the Caviar Stick in Rose Gold, which I can't wait to try (it's a gorgeous champagne-rose gold shimmer) as I'm a big fan of the shade Copper I have in the full size from this range. There's the Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 01 Highlight, which looks like a seriously glow-y highlighter and just my sort of thing. And finally there's the Bonne Mine Stick in Peach Glow, which is a gorgeous shimmery peach cream blusher.

When I went down to my boyfriend's house, I got even more presents so I'm feeling very lucky! He got me this gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury Makeup Bag, which looks such a good size. The fabric is so soft and I love the deep red colour and rose gold detailing. I put the Ciate Smokey Suedes Palette on my Christmas list after seeing Beti from Makeup Sessions feature it so many times. It is similar in price to the Urban Decay palettes, which I can see could be off-putting to some but I think the shades are gorgeous and it's nice to try a new brand. You can always find an ASOS or Look Fantastic discount code and both those sites stock this.

He also got me a small bottle of the Fresh Sugar Lychee Eau de Parfum. When we visited the Fresh store at Marylebone I was overwhelmed by all the gorgeous fragrances they had on offer so I'm really excited to have this in time for spring. I love the bottle and the scent is a gorgeous mix of the citric but sweet signature Fresh Sugar scent and the fruitiness of lychee. Another lovely gift was the mini Diptque Liquidambar Candle. We were in Space NK a few weeks back and I smelled and loved this, but it was far too expensive for me to buy for myself. He remembered and picked it up for me. It's really hard to describe this beautiful scent, but it's a sort of warm, spicy, nutty fragrance. The packaging is gorgeous too, as a special Autumn-Winter Limited Edition, it comes in a special glass.

I also got from my boyfriend the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm Tree Decoration. I've wanted to try this product for ages so I will look forward to giving the mini a go before I decide whether to invest in the full size. As an extra little stocking-filler I also got the Zoella Foam Sweet Foam Cleansing Shower Gel. I actually haven't tried anything from her range (bad blogger!) so I'm looking forward to giving this a go. His sister kindly got me two little bath and body sets too, which was lovely as I really wasn't expecting anything. I have the Bayliss and Harding Sweet Mandarin and Grapefruit Foot Gift Set, containing two little pedicure products in the fresh, fruity scent and some socks. I also got the Bayliss and Harding Jojoba Silk and Almond Duo Gift Set, which contains a body wash and lotion in the limited edition scent.

I also got a few other gifts from my boyfriend's family including this lovely Deep Red Woven Blanket Scarf (apologies, I have no idea where this is from!) and some cosy Love Heart Print Pyjamas (sorry, also couldn't get a link for that). I also got a Rotating Musical Tin of Biscuits, which I think must have sold out now as I can't find it, but you may be able to get it in the Marks and Spencer sale. I also got a selection of Hotel Chocolat Selectors and also the Everything H Box, which I can't wait to demolish. Of course I got a couple of bottles of wine from colleagues which were very good but are now long gone!

I'm feeling so lucky for having received all these lovely gifts so thank you once again to my family and friends if you're reading this. I can't wait to try everything out and report back. And Happy New Year to everyone reading!

What was your favourite Christmas present this year?

  5. You definitely got some awesome presents for Christmas, I love love all the Kiko stuff you got. The Diptique candle you've got is one that I'd love to own, but similarly couldn't justify spending that money myself.
