The Shower Shelf Edit

I thought I'd do something a little different today and share with you the products on my shower shelf. There's been a bit of a trend with the #shelfie and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to talk about some products I love and use regularly but I wouldn't think to mention on my blog otherwise.

The shower in our house that I'd tend to use is in a bath tub so obviously I wouldn't recommend keeping some of these products in a cubicle! However I wanted to be true to what I use so I've still included them. I often like to use my bath caddy as a little shelf to keep all my products close to hand so I don't have to move out of the warmth too.

Shower Gels

This is a gorgeous, refreshing body wash for in the morning. It has a beautiful fruity fig scent that lingers nicely on the skin after I get out of the shower.

This is a great one if I'm having a nice, long shower or want to take a relaxing bath. The pump packaging also makes it really handy to use even if you do have a cubicle shower. It has a floral scent that somehow has a muskiness to it whilst remaining very fresh. It foams up really nicely on the skin and it's one of those products that seems to fill the entire room with its scent.

Lush The Olive Branch Shower Gel | £4.95 (100g)

I picked up a mini of this as I wasn't sure how I'd like it but it's actually so lovely! It's quite a liquid formula but lathers up so nicely. I love the olive, mandarin and bergamot fragrance too, though it's very different to what I'd usually go for.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Body Wash | £31

I got this for Christmas and its one of the most luxurious products I own! The formula is beautifully thick and creamy but still foamy. The scent is deep and rich, not at all like the typical sweet vanilla fragrance. I don't even need to wear a perfume after I use this, as the fragrance stays on my skin all day.

L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil | £18

Rounding off my body wash options is this offering from L'Occitane. It goes on like and oil, giving my skin some serious nourishment and emulsifies when you rinse it off. I love the subtle almond fragrance and how soft my skin feels after use.

Other Body Products

Ok, this is one I talk about a LOT! I just love the scent so much; I'm a sucker for sweet, yummy scents and this smells like almond, cream, oats and vanilla. The formula is beautifully creamy yet still foams up nicely and it feels so hydrating on my dry winter skin. I actually use this for shaving my legs as it works so well and feels so much more luxurious than using a shaving foam.

This is a sort of body scrub or treatment, depending on how you use it. It isn't something I'd reach for on a daily basis, it's more of a treat product. You can either massage it in like a typical scrub or apply it on your skin and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing off. The eucalyptus is so incredibly refreshing and invigorating on the skin, it feels amazing!

I've been trying to use up some of my bath and body products so decided to get this body scrub back out, which I loved over summer. I love the sweet but citric scent, it kind of reminds me of a mojito. The scrub itself is so effective and leaves my skin smooth without feeling like it's been rubbed raw.

Skincare

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel | £28 | post

It's definitely on the pricey side but this is really handy for those busy mornings. I just pat my face dry with a towel or muslin cloth and massage this into my skin. It feels and smells lovely on my skin and I can just rinse it off under the shower, as it breaks down easily into an emulsion when it comes into contact with water.

Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque | £27  | post

It's great to have a face mask on-hand to slap on whilst you shave your legs or whatever else. I like this thin clay mask which I leave on for around 10 minutes before rinsing off. It leaves my skin looking refreshed and much clearer pretty much immediately.

An option for when I don't have much time is REN's 1 Minute Facial. You massage this into damp skin, leave for a minute and simply wash it off. It's the perfect in-shower product if you wake up and feel your skin is looking a little tired or lacklustre as it gives it an immediate boost of radiance.

Haircare

This is such a hyped-up product and I can see why! I dampen my hair and divide it out before applying this to the lengths and ends then I put it in a shower cap for ten minutes whilst I have my shower for the product to work its magic. Then I shampoo and condition my hair as normal. This really helps my hair to look and feel healthier and I experience less breakage when I use it.

Jason Dandruff Relief Shampoo | £8.99

Verging into slightly TMI territory, but like many people I get dandruff, and I never really strayed from Head and Shoulders because I knew that despite it's unglamorous appearance it does work for me. However I recently discovered Jason's and I haven't looked back! It's not very foaming because it's free of a lot of the ingredients that aren't great for your scalp but create that foaming effect. It smells quite strongly of various essential oils but I personally really like it, and it's a natural way to keep my hair flake-free.

This is my favourite hair mask and you only have to leave it on for 5 minutes, so it's perfect if you shampoo when you first get in the shower then apply a nice amount of this to the ends. It's really nice and nourishing without being heavy or greasy at all. It also has a light coconut fragrance that lingers nicely in my hair.

Everything Else

I keep a body butter in the bathroom out of necessity, as in winter it's much warmer in there than my bedroom so I'd rather put it straight on and get into my fluffy dressing gown as soon as possible. I got my current favourite for Christmas and I'm already loving it. The formula is hydrating and intensive without feeling too heavy or greasy like some of the Body Shop's other body butters. The scent is light, fruity and I'm sure I'll love it even more when summer comes back around.

Cowshed Cow Herb Restoring Hand Cream | £18

This was a fab little find for a fiver in TK Maxx! It's has a lovely lavender scent and a light lotion texture that sinks into my skin and hydrates it without feeling greasy. My hands always feel so dry in the morning, so using a cream after my shower is a must.

Neom Happiness Candle | £30

Finally, I have my Neom candle on there for when I have a bath. It's the most gorgeous fresh, clean, relaxing scent and I've already ordered myself another of their candles in the sale!

  25. Hi Jasmine,
I love this kind of posts! I've heard so many great things on the bodywash from L'Occitane, it's probably a "must", but I haven't tried it yet (it's expensive, you know). Talking about body cream I love the ones from Korres, in particular the Apple and Cinnamon scented one :)

I also like to keep in my shower a bottle of almond oil that I massage on my wet skin before going out of the shower (but without rinsing it). It leaves the skin amazing and nourished, though it takes some time to be absorbed. wish you a good day! :)
