It's time for another Seasonal Beauty Edit! Winter is definitely the time of the year when I step outside my comfort zone in terms of makeup and go for something a little bolder, so hopefully you'll get to see something a little different from me in this post!
Makeup
The original Double Wear is my go-to for nights out but at the moment I'm loving the Light version for everyday wear. If you love the flawless finish and longevity of the the original but find it a bit too much then this is the answer! For me, winter is all about flawless, matte (but not flat or drying), excellent coverage and this delivers it. Don't be fooled by the name; it's still medium to full but dials things down a notch.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer | £22 | post
To finish off the 'matte not flat' look it has to be the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. It has such incredible, flawless coverage. I use it mainly for blemishes but also sparingly under the eyes. There isn't an imperfection it can't cover.
The festive period is the time when you can go all out with the highlighter, and I certainly do! The water-based powder formula is beyond creamy and blends into the skin effortlessly. The shade is a golden-champagne with a little hint of peach that I think would suit so many skin tones. It doesn't have any glitter but seriously packs a punch when it comes to getting glowing skin.
I don't actually have a specific winter blusher I'm loving this year, I've pretty much been wearing the same ones you can check out in my Autumn Cheek Wardrobe. Nars Dolce Vita is particularly gorgeous if you're not too into a full-on berry on your cheeks.
This is a stunning, dewy, metallic highlight shade for the inner corner. It's a gorgeous champagne-nude that's just so pigmented and creamy in texture.
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Shimma Shimma | £4.95 | post
Of course a shade called 'shimma shimma' had to make it into my Winter Beauty Edit! This very light white-gold shimmer is perfect as a highlight or across the lid.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Bitten | £4.95 | post
Winter is the time I step a little outside my comfort zone and wear some colour. Berry shades on the eyes are a less scary option and perfect for warmer skin tones. When I think of matte brights, I usually think of chalky formulas with poor colour payoff, but Bitten couldn't be further from that. It's so creamy and easy to blend with incredible pigmentation.
Burlesque is the perfect partner for Bitten on the outer part of the eyelid. It's a lovely deep burgundy shimmer that's nothing too scary or intense once applied. Again, the quality is impressive.
My final winter eye option is MAC's Amber Lights. A gorgeous bright orange-toned gold, it's perfect to pair with a berry lip. It looks so stunning and multifaceted on it's own all across the lid.
I always love my winged liner but for a more dramatic festive eye look, it's an essential. I've said it before and I'll say it again; Supercat is just the best. It ticks all the boxes for me as it stays fresh, pigmented and black and has the perfect nib shape and size to wing your liner with minimal effort.
This is my more 'daytime' pick or for if you're not into a deep lip for winter. I love the Chubby Stick Intense formula as it's still so moisturising but way more pigmented than the original line. This is a deep pink rosy shade that gives a nice wash of colour for when you want to play up other features.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Diva | £15.50 | post
For a proper vampy deep berry lip, it just has to be Diva for me! It's just exactly what I want from a winter shade and has a long-lasting matte finish.
Skincare
When my skin is feeling tired, red or dehydrated I reach for this face spray for an instant soothing moisture boost. I love how it gives instant and lasting relief to my dehydrated skin.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask | £23 | post
The cold outside and indoor heating can play havoc on your skin. When my face is feeling sapped of moisture, this provides an overnight fix. You only need the tiniest amount but the next morning my skin looks and feel so much softer and healthier.
S&G Speed Plump All-Day Super Moisture Marvel* | £13 | post
Although my skin is combination, winter makes the dehydrated aspect take over a little bit. It's so hard to find a moisturising day cream that isn't so rich that it just sits on top of the skin. However Soap & Glory's Speed Plump is exactly what I've been after; it sinks in nicely, moisturising my skin without shine.
Body & Everything Else
Library of Fragrance Egg Nog Cologne* | £15
I know it's not really Christmas any more but this is just the most gorgeous wintery scent! It has hints of spiciness, ginger, milkiness and sweet baking. I just love it.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub | £8 | post
This is one of those products I tried and instantly regretted never picking it up sooner! The scent is just yummy, oat-y, sugary, banana-y, pancake-y goodness and it's so nourishing and effective at removing dead skin cells without leaving your skin red or sore.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Milk Lotion | £10 | post
This is the perfect almond, honey, sugar and oat follow-up to the Breakfast Scrub. It's so quick and easy to apply and although it has a light lotion formula, it's very nourishing without feeling like it takes 10 minutes to rub it in fully.
Nuxe Reve de Miel Balm | £9.50 | post

Nuxe Reve de Miel Balm | £9.50 | post
This is literally the best lip balm in the world, I've honestly never tried something that leaves my lips so soft and hydrated from one overnight use. It has quite a thick texture but for me, it really works.
Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector | £11 | post
At this time of year I reach for my Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector as it's seriously heavy-duty and my hands get seriously dry and sore. It gives instant moisture that lasts throughout the day. I honestly don't think there's a cracked enough hand in the world that this couldn't take on!
Essie Nail Polish in Wicked | £7.99 | post
This is my go-to deep vampy nail shade. It's a really deep red that almost looks black on first glance.

I've just started using a Claudalie cleanser and I love it, the scent is so nice and fresh! It's the first of their products I've tried so I might look into the grape water as well. Love your eyeshadow picks, so many of my current favourites in there. Though it has reminded me that I still need to get Bitten and Amber Lights for my Mac palette too. x

ReplyDeletePerfect Shade of Mauve
I can't count how many times I ALMOST bought Diva. It's a beautiful red, but I always convince myself that I have twelve lipsticks that look just like it at home!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any MUG eyeshadows, but they are top on my list for 2016. Especially the foiled shadows. I also saw today on Marlena's instagram that they are introducing what looks like contour powders this upcoming year. Can't wait for that, their sneak peek swatches actually looked suiting for very light and dark skin tones!!
Much Love,
