Big Beauty Haul | Duty Free & Loyalty Point Splurges!

When your flight is at 7am you have to pre-plan your Duty Free shopping a bit... I went with a list and if they didn't have it, I didn't buy it and completely resisted picking up anything else. The things I couldn't get I picked up when I got home and also cashed in a load of loyalty points I'd been hoarding. This is the result!

MAC was the first stop, of course! Unfortunately they did not stock the single eyeshadow pans (I'm not sure if this is true for other Duty Free retailers), which was really disappointing. They also didn't have MAC Soar, which I'd wanted. I did however get my hands on the lovely nude Lip Pencil in Spice (£12.50). They also had the two other products I'd been after, the Mineralise Skinfinish in Global Glow (£24) (which is a gorgeous golden dewy highlight) and the Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in Medium-Dark (£24) (a sheen-y face powder). I actually managed to find the Lip Pencil in Soar (£12.50) on the Selfridges website when I got home so quickly snatched it up, as the pink-mauve nude colour is just my sort of thing.

Benefit just had to happen at the airport so I could pick up the Porefessional (£24.50), which I'd been running low on. This is the only primer that considerably reduces the appearance of my pores so I would have been re-purchasing it anyway, but it's always nice to get a bit of money off! I was going to just stick to picking up my favourite mascara, They're Real (£19.50), however on the flight itself there was a further 20% off Duty Free so I picked up Roller Lash (£19.50) on a whim. I'm so glad I did as I actually love it a lot more this time round; it adds the perfect amount of length, curl and definition for an everyday look.

Finally for Duty Free, I headed to Bobbi Brown and got my hands on the Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow Stick in Taupe (£21), which looks like it will be the perfect eye base. Unfortunately they don't stock past a certain shade in the corrector I'd wanted in Duty Free (#everydayracism tbh) so I couldn't get that, so I picked up the Creamy Corrector in Dark Peach (£19) in Selfridges as my Benefit Erase Paste had been running low and I fancied a change.

When I arrived back in the UK I saw Debenhams were running a promotion whereby if you spend £50 you received £10 worth of Beauty Club Points so I decided to buy the things I hadn't been able to get in Duty Free. After swatching and falling in love with them, I picked up the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil (£15.50 each) in Underground (a mauve-taupe shimmer) and Scorch (an antique gold shimmer). They're so smooth and pigmented, I think I'm going to love them. I picked up a few MAC Eyeshadow Pro Refill Pans (£10 each) as I've finally got a 15 x Pro Palette. Firstly I had to get All That Glitters, the perfect neutral eye highlight. I also got Quarry (a great taupe matte crease shade), Patina (a light brown shade with a slightly iridescent sheen). With the £15 on my Beauty Card (which it took about 5 phonecalls and 10 emails to get, as Debenhams randomly decided to delete £40 worth of points from my card!) I decided to get a few extras. I also picked up Mulch (a warm brown with golden shimmer) and Swiss Chocolate (a warm deep red-brown matte).

I then headed back to Selfridges where I picked up another MAC Eyeshadow in Texture (a warm orange-brown shade with a slight shimmer). I didn't think you could get this as just a pan as it's not anywhere online (I've linked the £13 packaged version) however my local Selfridges did have it. I finished up by getting my hands on the Laura Mercier Caviar Eyeshadow Stick in Copper (£22) (a golden-orange shimmer) using my Space NK points and the much-hyped Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (£13) with my Boots points. I love my Soap & Glory Supercat but I've heard so much about the Stila offering, I just couldn't resist!

What have you or will you be getting in Duty Free and with loyalty points you're saving up?

  3. I'm so jealous of all your recent beauty purchases! I'm like you though, I always plan what I'm going to buy at duty free, it saves so much time, meaning that more shopping can be done! Abi | RamblingsofaBlonde

  5. Amazing haul, I absolutely love Duty Free but they often don't have the things that I'm looking for so I always end up buying other things instead haha. I don't think any Mac counters in Duty Free do the single pan shadows, I've tried Glasgow, Gatwick and Heathrow.

  6. Awesome purchases. Did you find that there was actually a big reduction on prices in Duty free? I found that especially at the Mac counter it seemed to be the exactly same prices like in the regular store.
I am really curious about how the stila eyeliner compares to the Supercat liner from S&G since i have been a loyal fan of the second.

    1. Duty Free is less of VAT on all brands :) I'm not sure if you're in the UK but here that means 20% off the prices listed above. Also I love Supercat so may need to do a comparison post ;) xx

  9. I’m loving this haul beaut, so many fab products :) I completely agree about pre-planning duty free as my flights at 6am so definitely gonna have to have a list ready. I really want to pick Spice up as I’ve heard so many good things. Soar is definitely a gorgeous lip liner and one of my favourites :) I wish there was a Bobbi Brown at Birmingham airport as there are so many bits I want to get, having to wait until I get to Sephora haha.

  10. Love your haul! I'm looking forward to duty free. What are the prices like for brands like Mac? Wondering if things may be worth waiting until I get to Florida for.

    1. If you're flying from the UK it's 20% off regardless of brand :) you're essentially just not paying the VAT that's usually included in the price. The prices I've put above are inclusive of VAT xx

    2. Omg why did I even ask that haha. Duty free... of course you're just not paying the VAT! Duhhhh! I'm so stupid lol x

  13. You got so many great items, Jasmine! I love the Stila eyeliner, it's my holy grail eyeliner!! Also, the MAC stores in my country don't stock the individual refill pans for the eyeshadow quads as well, it's so odd! xxx

  15. Now that's the way to do a Haul :-) I think my next Duty Free purchase is going to be something from Origins as they just started carrying the brand in our jurisdiction. :-)

  19. Great picks! I really want to get my hands on MAC spice and the mineralise skin finish in soft&gentle. I absolutely LOVEE roller lash, definitely my holy grail. Porefessional is definitely amazing at blurring my pores too! I'm not too keen on the UD glide on eyeliners though, I don't like the style of the tip, it's not like a normal pencil, more like a soft crayon. Not my thing, it just slides off of my waterline completely.

  21. Wow, what a great splurge! Feeling jelly of all your goodies. :) I love all the shadows you picked up from Mac. All That Glitters, Mulch and Patina are one of my favourite shades ever. I also love the UD eyeliners. Sadly the Bobbi Brown corrector creases on me like mad but it has an amazing coverage. Wish it worked for me. xx
