Sheer Lips for Summer | Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks

For summer I want something on my lips that’s sheer and easy-to wear with a nice dewy sheen. I am definitely not a lip gloss person as I hate the gloopy feel of them on my lips, the way my hair always seems to get stuck in it… So the Soap & Glory Gloss Sticks (£8 each) are pretty much my perfect alternative.

I have two gorgeous shades to show you: Nudist* and Raplumzel, which are both pretty much as advertised! Nudist is a lovely, subtle warm nude shade whereas Raplumzel is a sort of bitten redcurrant colour. Whilst they are sheer they do offer a nice level of colour pay-off for the Summer glossy lip look.

The obvious thing to compare these twist-up lip crayons to are the Clinique Chubby Sticks, however I definitely think the formula of these is a little different. These are definitely more of a high-shine gloss as opposed to simply being a balm-like sheer lip colour. I actually find they last quite nicely on the lips. You won’t get the full-on glossiness for more than a couple of hours (especially when eating and drinking) however the colour stays behind quite nicely for another hour or two. Overall though it’s the kind of product I expect to reapply throughout the day and generally I don’t mind this as the crayon form of this product makes it effortless.

I really like this product and will definitely be getting my hands on a few more shades as I think they’re the perfect minimal effort subtle lip colour for on holiday.

Are you a fan of sheer lip crayons for this time of year?

  13. I don't know what it is about glossy balms, but they are not something that ever works for me. I can wear them just for a few minutes to an hour tops, then I feel uncomfortable, like they will smear all over my face... Shame because these shades are gorgeous!

  14. I hae Raplumzel and Plum Jam and I love them. They're really nice for summer as they feel quite light on the lips, and the colour range, although limited, has some really nice shades!
