Rimmel Brixton Brown Eyeshadow Palette | Drugstore Hidden Gem

When I heard several of my favourite YouTubers mention the Rimmel 5-Pan Eyeshadow in Brixton Brown (£6.99), I was dubious to say the least. Firstly, it isn't much to look at in the pan; the packaging is pretty cheap and flimsy and the shades also don't look that impressive. Secondly, £6.99 seemed a little steep for such a small, cheap-looking product when you can get a huge palette  of high-quality shades from Makeup Revolution for the same price. However...I find myself eating my words!

Firstly the shades are really quite beautiful when swatched and combined on the lids, it creates a stunning look. You get two fairly true matte shades: a brown (Top Left) and a beige (Bottom Right). There's the gorgeous pearly highlighting colour (Top Right), an unusual red shimmer (Centre) and finally a pearlescent plummy brown (Bottom Left). The colour payoff is really impressive and you have everything you need for the base, highlight, crease, smoke and pop of colour.

They last so well throughout the day (and my eyelids are seriously oily!) and they have minimal fall out (I only got a little bit with the Bottom Right shade). Brixton Brown looks even more lovely with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creamy Beige as a base; it's a favourite pairing of mine. The texture is really nice and soft and I love to apply them with my beloved Zoeva eye brushes.

All in all, if you're a lover of neutral eyeshadows, I'd recommend getting this in your life!
