It's no secret that Max Factor isn't a brand I usually check out that much, however since I really liked their Excess Shimmer Eyeshadows I've been browsing their stand a lot more regularly. The Creme Puff Blushes (£8.99 each) were an instant 'got to have!' for me as they looked like Hourglass dupes at a fraction of the cost.
I picked up 3 shades: Lavish Mauve, Seductive Pink and Gorgeous Berries. I really didn't rate Lavish Mauve; it's not terrible, it was just a bit insipid and wasn't doing much for me at all. It was just too neutral and flat for my liking. Therefore I bought Seductive Pink on a recommendation. They look quite similar swatched but they're not, I promise! I think the merged peach-y shade in Seductive Pink gives it a much needed 'pop'. Finally Gorgeous Berries; a very beautiful shade and really pigmented. You definitely need to apply it with a light hand!
These are nicely highlighting, without being to over-the-top glittery, which I like. However I felt it took a little work to get them to apply nicely and they definitely went patchy after a couple of hours! Lavish Mauve was the worst culprit for me (another reason why I wasn't that into it), however with the other two I can deal with it. If you can only get one then I'd say to give Seductive Pink a go as I think it has nice colour pay-off, is the easiest to apply and I think the easiest to wear. This is how it looked on:
Overall, whilst I don't think I'll be deleting the Hourglass blushers off my wish list any time soon, I think there are a few nice shades in the Creme Puff Blush range. Do your research and you'll be able to avoid getting a dud!

Shame that you don't seem to like them much as they look stunning, I love the last shade gougeous berries, looks like such a lovely colour but I think I might save the cash on these and not bother :)

I definitely didn't dislike them, I did find them a little hit and miss though! The hits were really nice though :) xx
DeleteYou are such a cuttie!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found ur blog!
The blushes are amazing, kinda looking like Milani blushes.
Find me here : www.blogvivalavida.com
Thank you :D and yeah a few people have said they're good alternatives to Milani, which are kind of hard to find in the UK xx
DeleteI have two of them and I really like them and actually I was impressed with their staying power as normally my blush disappears after around 6 hours but these stayed on my cheeks for nearly 10. I''ve actually planned my post on them for Wednesday :) x

I've checked out your post :) and it's a shame they didn't wear so well for me, though to be fair few blushers to on my cheeks :( xx
DeleteEvery single time I go to Boots/Superdrug I keep swatching these but can never decide which one I want. Nude Mauve and Seductive pink are so gorgeous! :)

I think if you were only going to get one then Seductive Pink is the way to go :) xx
DeleteThese look so beautiful! I haven't really heard much about them but I'll definitely need to have a look now! Gorgeous Berries is a beautiful shade, but I think I'd have to look at getting Seductive Pink as it looks perfect for Spring and Summer <3
ReplyDeleteLizzie // xBeautyMagic // YouTube
Yeah i think the pink is more seasonal but the berry is more unique :) xx
DeleteOh wow, these look amazing! Gorgeous Berries looks like my kinda shade!!

Yeah it has some real wow factor :) xx
DeleteI've had my eye on these for a few weeks now, glad you like them. I love shimmery blushers because I don't need to wear a highlighter with them :) Seductive Pink looks like a perfect colour !

ReplyDeleteHeather | Of Beauty & Nothingness x
Yeah I think it would probably work better on fairer skintones xx
DeleteVery helpful review! It's a shame the Nude Mauve under performed for you, that was the one I would have gone for. Maybe I'll stick to my original plan and get a Makeup Revolution Baked Blush instead... xx
ReplyDeletealicered.co.uk
Yeah I liked the look of it in store I'm not sure what happened between there and trying it out! xx
DeleteI love the look of these, especially the gorgeous berries although it's a bit darker than I'd normally try for a blush. Definitely will avoid the nude mauve! x
ReplyDeletejobrlw.blogspot.com
It's fine if you apply the berry shade with caution haha xx
DeleteOoooh so pretty! Will have to pick these up :)

Aw thank you! xx
DeleteThey look amazing and I like how vibrant they look in your photos...I am thinking of purchasing Gorgeous Berries but I think £8.99 is too much for a drug store blush....I can't help being a cheapskate today...hehehehe...xx
ReplyDeleteYeah it is a bit pricey, though they were £2-3 off on an introductory offer...xx
DeleteSeductive pink looks really pretty. Max Factor isn't really a brand I buy often either except for the odd mascara. I might give these ago though, but right now i'll stick to my bareMinerals blusher :)

DeleteI was looking at these today! I am glad it I didnt buy them in the end but I am definitely debating going back and giving Seductive Pink a try after reading your review! xx
ReplyDeleteLauren | shynature.blogspot.co.uk
If you pick one that should be it in my opinion :) xx
DeleteI swatched these a couple of days ago but honestly didn't think much of them. I thought they'd have more depth considering they have a couple of colours in, but they seem to come out pretty averagely, so I think I'll save my money! :)
ReplyDeleteSarah / Sarah Smiles
I know what you mean, I found Nude Mauve and some of the others I didn't buy a bit meh xx
DeleteLove the Nude Mauve such a versatile colour, but the other two scare me slightly haha xx
ReplyDeleteThrough New Eyes x
Haha you should give them a chance! xx
DeleteBeautiful photos! I love the lighter two
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shades, and I love the texture of the Max Factor blushes!

They're definitely gorgeous-looking :) xx
DeleteI’m exactly the same when it comes to Max Factor until they release their Creme Puff Blushers :) I really want to try Gorgeous Berries but not sure if it was too dark as I’m quite pale, oh that sucks about it going patchy, I haven’t found that yet with mine - I’ll have to keep an eye out incase it does happen :)
ReplyDeleteCharlee XO | CharmedCharlee
I think if you applied it with a light hand you'd be fine! xx
DeleteI haven't tried any of these yet, but I keep passing them in Boots and I'm tempted. xx

DeleteThese look so high end. I keep telling myself I don't need another blush but I'm really tempted to get at least one of them. xx

Haha I know what you mean, I keep telling myself I don't need more makeup, yet here I am D: xx
DeleteWhat a pity they went patchy as they do look lovely and the swatches are so pigmented! I have the Hourglass blush palette and it is my absolute favourite - really well worth the splurge! :) x
ReplyDeleteBrenda BusyBee | Bella & Bear Pro Makeup Brush Set Giveaway
I really want an Hourglass blusher! xx
DeleteI've seen quite a few bloggers talking about these blushes and they look gorgeous, and so pigmented! I'm a sucker for blushes so I'm sure I'll end up with a few of these in my collection.

DeleteThose blushers are beautiful, but such a shame they broke up after a while. You would think a "dupe" would do a better job. :/
ReplyDeleteAngie x | Chocolate & Lipstick || UK Beauty and Lifestyle Blog
Yeah I know :( I do struggle with that with a lot of blushers tbh! xx
DeleteThey aren't actually a cream formula - confusing, I know! xx
