Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes | Review & Swatches

It's no secret that Max Factor isn't a brand I usually check out that much, however since I really liked their Excess Shimmer Eyeshadows I've been browsing their stand a lot more regularly. The Creme Puff Blushes (£8.99 each) were an instant 'got to have!' for me as they looked like Hourglass dupes at a fraction of the cost.

I picked up 3 shades: Lavish Mauve, Seductive Pink and Gorgeous Berries. I really didn't rate Lavish Mauve; it's not terrible, it was just a bit insipid and wasn't doing much for me at all. It was just too neutral and flat for my liking. Therefore I bought Seductive Pink on a recommendation. They look quite similar swatched but they're not, I promise! I think the merged peach-y shade in Seductive Pink gives it a much needed 'pop'. Finally Gorgeous Berries; a very beautiful shade and really pigmented. You definitely need to apply it with a light hand!

These are nicely highlighting, without being to over-the-top glittery, which I like. However I felt it took a little work to get them to apply nicely and they definitely went patchy after a couple of hours! Lavish Mauve was the worst culprit for me (another reason why I wasn't that into it), however with the other two I can deal with it. If you can only get one then I'd say to give Seductive Pink a go as I think it has nice colour pay-off, is the easiest to apply and I think the easiest to wear. This is how it looked on:

Overall, whilst I don't think I'll be deleting the Hourglass blushers off my wish list any time soon, I think there are a few nice shades in the Creme Puff Blush range. Do your research and you'll be able to avoid getting a dud!

Hearts (Out of 5):

Gorgeous Berries: ♥  ♥  ♥ ½

Lavish Mauve: ♥  ♥

Have you tried any of the range yet? Which shades do you like the
look of?

Edit: my apologies - the shade I have is Lavish Mauve, not Nude Mauve and I've now corrected it in the post! Sorry!

  1. Shame that you don't seem to like them much as they look stunning, I love the last shade gougeous berries, looks like such a lovely colour but I think I might save the cash on these and not bother :)

  3. I have two of them and I really like them and actually I was impressed with their staying power as normally my blush disappears after around 6 hours but these stayed on my cheeks for nearly 10. I''ve actually planned my post on them for Wednesday :) x

  5. These look so beautiful! I haven't really heard much about them but I'll definitely need to have a look now! Gorgeous Berries is a beautiful shade, but I think I'd have to look at getting Seductive Pink as it looks perfect for Spring and Summer <3

  12. Very helpful review! It's a shame the Nude Mauve under performed for you, that was the one I would have gone for. Maybe I'll stick to my original plan and get a Makeup Revolution Baked Blush instead... xx

  17. They look amazing and I like how vibrant they look in your photos...I am thinking of purchasing Gorgeous Berries but I think £8.99 is too much for a drug store blush....I can't help being a cheapskate today...hehehehe...xx

  18. Seductive pink looks really pretty. Max Factor isn't really a brand I buy often either except for the odd mascara. I might give these ago though, but right now i'll stick to my bareMinerals blusher :)

  20. I swatched these a couple of days ago but honestly didn't think much of them. I thought they'd have more depth considering they have a couple of colours in, but they seem to come out pretty averagely, so I think I'll save my money! :)

  30. I’m exactly the same when it comes to Max Factor until they release their Creme Puff Blushers :) I really want to try Gorgeous Berries but not sure if it was too dark as I’m quite pale, oh that sucks about it going patchy, I haven’t found that yet with mine - I’ll have to keep an eye out incase it does happen :)
