Finally, an Amazing Affordable Concealer!

I feel as though this past year I've been on a quest to find a drugstore concealer that I actually like. Most of the blogger favourites have either been the wrong colour for me or just not really worked. Then came along the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Eye Concealer (£7.99)...

I was pretty much expecting another disappointment but somehow one of the only 2 shades this concealer comes in worked pretty well for me. I have the colour 'Nude' (although surely everyone's shade is nude for them...?) I picked it up because as much as I love my Nars concealer, it's definitely one to go with a proper foundation. This is a lot lighter so works well with tinted moisturisers, cc creams and bb creams.

 Before

 After

It's definitely an under-eye concealer. I guess you could use it on spots and blemishes if you really want to but it's not really that sort of a product (if you want an affordable blemish concealer try the Collection Lasting Perfection one). The light texture also means you can use it for highlighting. Although there's not a huge amount to look at, I've swatched it so you can see the texture. It's smooth, easy to blend and will not cake no matter how heavy-handed you are with it!

The applicator definitely makes me feel a bit ill, but the fact it's an under eye concealer makes it a lot less unhygienic than if you were putting a sponge on your spots. The sponge does apply it quite nicely, though it can be hard to tell how much you're applying. Overall no product with such a weightless texture has ever given me such good coverage underneath my eyes.

The search is over so I'm gonna pack up and go home! Just kidding, but seriously, if you suffer from dark circles or hyper-pigmentation in the eye area it's a godsend. I definitely think they need to bring out more shades though.

Have you tried Age Rewind? What is your favourite affordable concealer?

  1. I have not long bought this and I have tried it a few times and I hate to say that I am not a fan, I find that it wears off really quickly and creases on me, also didn't cover much of my really dark circles but as we said yesterday that is just me. Glad that you love it so much and I have to say that you have amazing skin without makeup on :)

  4. I haven't tried this but I've heard so many good reviews, my favourite drugstore concealer is the seventeen stay time concealer. It's a lighter much more hydrating but still as high on the coverage version of collection lasting perfection.

  7. I mentioned this in my latest YouTube video because I am not a fan. I wonder if it's because the lightest colour is just a shade too orange for my face... the best concealer I have used or my skin tone is the Natural Concealer from Kiko. x

  14. I really wish I could find my correct shade in this concealer. I swatched this is instore and it looked a little too light and I didn't wanna risk it..so it's a miss until they bring out more shades. On another note, i have just noticed your freckles for the first time and it looks so cute and suits you!!...xx

    1. Yeah I agree it's ridiculous there's only 2 shades - this one is a bit light for me but it's yellow enough so I sort of make it work lol

And aww thank you :) xx

  20. I adore this concealer, but after I finished it, I never pick up a new one, and I don't know why. It was such a fab purchase in my eyes, I do just need to stop dithering and pick it up anon.

    1. Yeah I've noticed with a few brands like L'Oreal and Revlon too that there are way more shades in their base products in the US - very frustrating :( xx
