Recent Beauty Empties #1 + Mini-Reviews

Welcome to my first ever Empties post! I have to say I didn't really get the point of Empties posts until recently but despite the fact I'm basically showing you my rubbish I think it's a good way to talk about more everyday products you don't get to hear about so much, as well as boiling things down to whether I'd repurchase them or not.

As you can see there are a fair few things as this is over a month of stuff! So the rest is behind the cut..

Haircare

I did like this product but I felt the price was too high for the relatively small difference it made. This has a lot of hype but it just didn't deliver for me. Repurchase?: No

I really like this spray because whilst it protects your hair it's also non-sticky and doesn't lead to product build-up. Plus it's a bargain! Repurchase?: Yes

This is pretty much a 'forever repurchase' for me! Although I do get through these fast, I tried Colab and they were even worse for that (full review here). Repurchase?: Yes

Colab Dry Shampoo, £1.99-3.49
As I said above, I did a full review of these here. The bottom line for me is: they smell nice but do nothing to reduce greasiness. Repurchase?: Unlikely

Skincare

I really love this face mask for my combination skin; it reduces shine as well as clearing up blemishes. Although it smells amazing I don't find that it irritates my skin. Repurchase?: Yes

I do like this product so if you can't stretch to the Bioderma, definitely give it a go. But as you can see from the two empty bottles, it just goes so fast! Repurchase?: Probably

Bioderma Sensibio H2O, £4.50-9.99
This is my #1 eye and lip makeup removing product; I just love how gentle it is and how quick and easy it works. Repurchase?: Yes

This is a really nice milky cleanser that leaves my skin soft and hydrated but not with any shine or excess product. Read the full review hereRepurchase?: Yes

The sample was so small I can't form a proper opinion on it. Repurchase?: No Idea!

I really didn't get on with this product. I felt there was a lot of excess and shininess; not good for a combination skin product! It also didn't do anything especially exciting for the price tag. Repurchase?: No

This really didn't do much for my pores but it had good cleansing power and left my skin really soft. It's not a must-have for me but it works well enough that I will probably stick to it. Read the full review here. Repurchase?: Probably

This is a really nice, hydrating foaming cleanser I would really recommend for the winter months. Read the full review hereRepurchase?: Yes

Makeup

This didn't rock my world; it was nice enough but I think you can get better products for the same price or less. Repurchase?: Unlikely

Brush Cleaning

This is perfect for a quick spritz in-between proper brush washes (which I do around once a fortnight). Repurchase?: Yes

This is a really nice brush cleaner. I don't find it works any better than homemade methods like baby shampoo but it's really convenient for travel. Repurchase?: Probably

This is really nice to clean my eye brushes with and leaves them soft and smelling nice. Repurchase?: Yes
You can read about my brush-cleaning routine here

So those are my recent empties, as you can tell: you win some you lose some!

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?

  1. Its such a shame you don't like the Collab dry shampoo. I prefer it to Batiste because it is a lot lighter. So glad I didn't invest in the Morrocan oil. It is so annoying that it has such a big price tag when it doesn't deliver x

  2. I absolutely love the Garnier Micellar cleansing water, to make mine last longer I just use it once in the morning and stick to a facial wipe at night :) and I've heard such good things about the CoLab dry shampoo, yours is actually the first negative comment I've seen so I'll definitely have to give this a go myself! x

    1. Yeah I guess different things work for different people but I did notice all the positive reviews I read were all talking about the fragrances (which are nice) as opposed to the actual de-greasing power, which probably should've set off alarm bells. For that price you don't have much to lose by giving it a go though xx

  6. The E.L.F. brush cleaner is really good! I've never tried the cupcake mask though, because when I go into LUSH the ladies say it's not the best one for my skin type, despite it smelling the most delicious *sigh*.

I will say, I thought it was a great idea to do an empties post like this, but I'm sort of getting sick of saving my rubbish! My windowsill has a small pile forming.

    1. I know what you mean it's a constant battle between getting one for your skin type and one that looks yummy!
And tell me about it! I just had to shout at my mum 'no, don't throw that rubbish away - it's for an empties post!' lol xx
