I have another review from my recent Makeup Revolution purchases! The last thing I needed in my life was another eyeshadow palette but I'm a sucker for neutrals and the Makeup Revolution Flawless Palette costs just £8! Check out what I thought of the palette, swatches of all 32 shades and a look you can create with it in this post...
It's taken me a while to figure out how to review these and to make the time to swatch them as there are just so many shades! So I'll discuss the palette as a whole, go into a little more detail about my favourite shades and let the swatches do the talking :)
I featured this palette in my last Things I Loved This Week post and I can really see this being my go-to Autumn palette as it just has everything you need for day or night. The palette as a whole is surprisingly compact, so if you're going away for the week you have all these versatile shades taking up a minimal amount of space. It has a nice big mirror, shuts securely, the shades come with names on a separate film sheet and it doesn't have one of those awful spongey applicators! If brights are more your thing you might want to check out the other 32-Shade Palette: Eyes Like Angels.
So here are the swatches of the first row, without flash and then with flash. From left to right we have Paper, Glow, Buff, Highlite, Angel, Unlimited, Brew and Silver Smoke:
For all the rows the first few shades are lighter, perfect as a base or crease shade, and the second half are a little smokier. For me the first 4 shades are pretty interchangeable in terms of what I'd use them for so I would only use 1 of them in a single look. Paper is the only matte and the colour payoff isn't great. The others are all really nice though for a pink-toned neutral shimmer look.
Onto the second row without flash and then with flash. From left to right we have: Almost There, Uncover, Barely Pink, Lowlite, Golden Night, Gold Digger, Cheerless and Blue Stars:
This row is a little more golden, as well as pink. Almost There is the only matte and the colour payoff is a little better than with Paper, it works fine as a transition shade. The rest are all really nice shimmers, and only Barely Pink has fallout.
So, let's take a look at the third row without flash and then with flash. From left to right we have: Smudge, Shimmer Heart, Universal, Copper Shimmer, Medal, Darkest Shimmer, Tarnish and Black Tie.
This is my faaavourite row! They are all shimmer except Smudge, which is a really pigmented matte, and Black Tie, which is a glitter shade. I love every shade on this row besides Black Tie because I'm not really a fan of large pieces of glitter (but that's totally personal taste) and because there's a little fallout. You can create a lovely bronze/gold nude eye with this row alone.
And finally this is the fourth row without flash and then with flash. From left to right we have: Pure Chocolate, Raw, Red Night, Molton Chocolate (not sure if this was meant to say 'molten' but this is how it appears on the list), Burgundy Nights, GreenStars, Cafe Noir and Night.
This is a lovely row, dominated by the smokier shades you'll use more at night. Pure Chocolate is a crazy-pigmented matte shade, and Raw is also a matte but the colour pay-off isn't so great, it works fine as a transition colour though. Night is a glitter shade (though less glittery than Black Tie) and it's one I use less for similar reasons. The other shades are all shimmers in red, brown and green tones; perfect for Autumn!
My favourite shades are:
Brew (a pink-toned medium brown shimmer)
Lowlite (a bronze shimmer)
Gold Digger (an amber-gold shimmer)
Cheerless (a cool-toned purple shimmer)
Smudge (a medium taupe-y brown matte)
Universal (a pink-bronze shimmer)
Copper Shimmer (as the name suggests!)
Medal (a gold-bronze shimmer)
Pure Chocolate (a chocolate-brown matte)
Red Night (a deep red shimmer)
Molton Chocolate (a bronze-brown shimmer)
Although not every shade is perfect, overall the quality of this palette is fantastic. I was a little concerned that it wouldn't be consistent with so many shades but it really is. Also I sometimes feel that in palettes with this many shades there's a risk of some of them being same-y, but I had no such problems with Flawless.
Overall Colour Pay-Off
****.5
Only 1 or 2 duds, which is pretty impressive out of 32 shades
Overall Durability
*****
These shades last me all day
Overall Texture
****
1 or 2 of the mattes were a little dusty, as with the shimmers. The rest were really smooth and buttery
Overall Ease of Application
****
I personally found Blue Stars, Black Tie and Night a little tricky to blend, but the others were great to use
Colour Selection
****
Obviously they're all neutrals but within this there's so much choice with this palette
Finish Selection
***
They are mostly shimmers, I'd maybe have liked a couple more mattes but if you're a shimmer-lover this is the one for you!
Value for Money
*****
As always with Makeup Revolution, this was just incredible value for money
Overall
****.5/5
Do you prefer neutrals or brights on your eyes?

DeleteThey look really pretty! I like the fact there's so many to choose from, although it might take a while to do my make up with all the choices...!!!
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing is when I do one eye and then forget which one I used when I go to do the second! Haha
Deleteoh you look lovely. Such beautiful colours. I don't think I'd know how to choose-I'd probably go for a mix of everything and look awful ;)

DeleteWow, perfect. Fortunately, I found your website!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! cheap makeup uk
You're welcome :) xx
DeleteHoW much is the palette in US dollars?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, hun - it's £8 so maybe around $12? xx
DeleteI really like the look of this! Some of the lighter shades look very similar but I can deal with that. My issue with MUR is some of their shades are very chalky and end up looking the same on the lid :(

Great review, I've been thinking about trying out this brand for awhile, just wasn't sure if it was worth it. Sounds like it is for the price and how well the colours swatched. I think I'll be checking this brand out a bit more, this palette looks very nice, with all the workable colours in it. x

Hi! I love your blog and I find your reviews soooo helpful! I have a question for you: I have a lot of warm neutral palettes and I'm looking for one with more pink, taupe and cool tones, would you recommend "Flawless" or Beyond Flawless"? Btw, did you try the "new-trals vs neutrals" palette? What do you think of the color selection?
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading!
Beyond Flawless has some more cool tones (there's a review/swatches of it on my blog also) and I haven't tried that one, I'm afraid! xx
DeleteThank you for your help! I bought the "New-trals vs Neutrals" and OMG girl! It's so versatile! You can do literally anything with it, from neutral and simple looks to dramatic looks, grungy,glamorous... Anything! I love it.
DeleteI have no experience with make up but I know my girlfriend is a massive fan of the brighter more intriguing palettes, I wanted to get her a good palette that isn't too cheap. I saw this product on amazon and wanted a second opinion, from someone like yourself, who has much more makeup experience! Thanks! The review was very helpful! If you can recommend a better palette for what I'm looking for than please say
ReplyDeleteI already have this palette and i would like to try Zoeva. Could you recommend one for me to avoid getting same colour range?
ReplyDeleteThis eye shadow palette looks gorgeous! I love makeup revolution products, i am way over due for another order, you should try out the 32 shade affirmation eye shadow palette.
