You Can Only Pick One - Beauty Tag

I'm probably super late with this but I saw it over on Agent Smyth and wanted to join in this little challenge! So here are my ultimate makeup favourites...

Low-End Brand

My Sleek Blush by 3 collection (comparison post here with links to individual reviews)

It has to be Sleek for me! (Though I'm not a fan of the term 'low-end') Their products are just incredible for the price and many can hold their own against brands charging 4x the amount Sleek does. I'm looking forward to more new releases from them.

High-End Brand

MAC Twig on my lips, Studio Fix Fluid as my foundation

This one's a little harder for me, as I tend to go for a variety of more expensive brands. I'm going to go with MAC, as I love their lipsticks (I feel they set the industry standard) and their foundations are just incredible in terms of coverage and the huge variety of shades they offer.

Primer

I only got this one recently but it has to be Smashbox Photo Finish, I'm doing a post on it soon, but wow; my makeup was held in place for an amazing amount of time and I really feel it smoothed out my face.

Foundation/BB Cream/Tinted Moisturiser

Makeup look using MAC Studio Fix Fluid

The only one I find myself going back to again and again is MAC Studio Fix Fluid. It provides such good coverage, without appearing cakey and reduces shine. There are so many different shades that they have the perfect foundation for just about everyone.

Concealer

Boi-ing concealing a bad night's sleep...

Until very recently it was Benefit's Erase Paste, but I think Boi-ing (also by Benefit!) may have de-throned it! It's not as greasy as the Erase Paste, there are more colours and the coverage is incredible.

Bronzer

I've really never got into bronzer, I think the only one I own is in a contouring kit but I don't use it at all.

Blush

Orgasm with daytime application

I'm in love with my Nars Orgasm blusher; it's perfect for daytime but also can be built on to wear at night. The pink/peach colour with gold shimmer running through it is so flattering to just about everyone! I just don't know if I can ever again justify spending so much on a single blusher!

Powder

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent has saved me on many occasions! If you have shiny face problems like me, definitely try it.

Setting Spray

I had never considered setting spray until recently, but I picked one up for £3.95 from e.l.f. and have never looked back. e.l.f. Mist & Set is a necessary part of my daily routine and, along with a primer, holds makeup in place all day.

Eyebrow Product

Before and after using my Sleek Brow Kit (review here)

I haven't used my Benefit kit yet, so this may change, but at the moment I just love my Sleek Brow Kit. I've used it every day since the start of this year and I'm only just starting to hit pan in one or two places! The quality of the product and the finish it gives is incredible; the fact it's only £8.49 is just a bonus.

Eyeshadow/Palette

'Daytime' Look with Glamorous nudes

This one's a toughie for me, as I'm an eyeshadow junkie at the moment! I love my Urban Decay Naked palette, but as of late I've been using my MUA Heaven and Earth and Benefit Neutrals palettes more...If I can only choose one I'll go for the Benefit World Famous Neutrals: Most Glamorous Nudes Ever. This past week I've fallen in love with it further; the colours are durable, wearable and just beautiful.

Eyeliner

I love my Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner, especially in the colour Forest Shimmer Ink! It's such a classic and amazing quality, plus one pot lasts for ages! (post on it here)

Mascara

This is another Benefit product, I'm afraid! Benefit's They're Real Mascara is just everything I want from a mascara: black, volumising, non-clumping and actually fairly natural-looking.

Lipstick/Lipgloss/Balm

I generally go for lipsticks, and my favourite is MAC's Twig (review here); it's natural enough to be worn in the day, but also looks good in the evening. It gives a nice pop of colour, but isn't too statement, so you can still do a striking look for your eyes. I also think the dusky pink-purple is really pretty.

Nail Polish

I've mentioned this so many times already, but I love Dress Me Up by China Glaze. It's just a really pretty colour, similar to my Twig lipstick, and it goes with so many things. It's neutral and understated.

Beauty Tool

I think it will have to be my e.l.f. Stipple Brush; it's perfect for applying liquid and cream blushers, is easy to use and much tidier than trying to do it with your fingers!
