I'm a sucker for summer scents and Kayali has become one of my favourite fragrance brands, so I couldn't resist the new limited edition Vacay in a Bottle Miniature Set | £88 (4 x 10ml) / £28 individually...

First up we have Marrakesh in a Bottle, which is formulated to transport you to Moroccan souks. I love the combination of aromas here; we have top notes of orange blossom, pink pepper and bergamot, heart notes of Turkish rose and neroli and cedar as its base notes. The combination makes this my kind of floral. I don't typically gravitate towards floral fragrances, simply because I tend to find them a bit dated and powdery, but not this! It's more rose oil than rose petals in here, the cedar adds a woody undertone that rounds this scent out and the pink pepper brings a soft spice. I also love the fresh, citric, mildly fruity aroma that the orange blossom and bergamot bring to the table. It's warm, slightly sweet, slightly spicy and it has this heady, aromatic quality I love; as it settles on the skin, I really do smell every layer of this scent. It goes on pretty strong and I'd say its staying power is average.

Capri in a Bottle was honestly the scent I was least excited about (despite having spent a few nights on the stunning Amalfi coast in Italy earlier this year, which is famed for its citrus fruits), based on its description, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise... the top notes are lemon, sugar and freesia, the heart notes are raspberry and vanilla and the base note is musk. You really get the fresh, fruity lemon peel essential oil and sugared notes right off the bat, so its zingy, citric and sweet all at once. However it's not sickly and as it settles on the skin, that musky base note and the vanilla set in and really balances everything out. It's actually fairly subtle once it settles on the skin, and again I'd say its longevity is pretty average.

Next up is something more tropical with the Hawaiian-themed Maui in a Bottle, which reminds me of a Pina Colada! The top notes are sweet banana and pear, the heart notes are coconut cream and jasmine and the base notes are sandalwood and vanilla. This is kind of your classic summer scent in a similar family to something like Bronze Goddess. I really enjoy it, though it's probably not something I'd buy again individually, as I don't think it's that unique. You get this wonderful creamy sweetness from the banana and coconut (though I can't say I find the pear really stands out for me) and a warm balancing aroma is added with the sandalwood and vanilla, alongside the subtle soft floral of jasmine. It's a well-balanced scent that's not sickly sweet but still gives you 'cocktails on the beach' vibes. The longevity on my skin throughout the day was pretty disappointing for me; I couldn't smell it at all after 6-7 hours of wear with my usual application (a spritz on my neck and one for my wrists).

Finally, we have Maldives in a Bottle, which is obviously still in the island paradise category, but this time it has a more aromatic component to evoke this nation surrounded by the Indian Ocean. The top notes here are rosemary and wild lemon, the heart notes are starfruit and banana blossom and the base notes are ylang ylang and coconut. I'm inclined to say I think it's an either / or between this one and Maui and for me this is a little more unique. The banana blossom has a very floral quality to it and the rosemary adds something more herbal to the mix. I'm not sure exactly where it's coming from but it has this sort of water lily-like scent to it. Then the ylang ylang and coconut add a soft warmth and sweetness. There's something fresh and floral about this option which really sets this apart in a world of coconut-esque summer scents. The longevity on this one is probably the best of the bunch.

Have you tried these scents or anything else from Kayali?
