UNDERRATED BEAUTY PRODUCTS I NEEDED TO SHARE WITH YOU

In addition I have / have had a brand relationship with Monday Muse, Cult Beauty and the Ordinary (gifting) and Boots (paid advertorial content). If you're bored of seeing the same curated shelves with the same curated beauty products then you're in luck! Today I'm sharing products you might not know about but that I think you could love as much as I do...

First up, this will be no surprise to the regulars: it's Monday Muse's the Cleanser | £28 | full review. I think I'm on around my 5th or 6th tube of this stuff, by this point, which is no mean feat given the volume of products I receive to try! This is a kind of hybrid cleanser; it feels like a milky gel with a texture that's water-based but feels creamier as you massage it into damp skin. I love it because it's so gentle and balancing for my skin, leaving it fresh and clean but never stripped of hydration. This product is formulated with glycolipids; a gentle, next-generation type of surfactant that my dry skin definitely gets on with. It also contains prebiotics, which could help boost the skin barrier, moisturising hemp seed oil and skin-soothing aloe extract. If you love non-foaming cleansers and enjoy something light and fuss-free: this could be your perfect cleanser...

Next, we have a makeup product in the Trinny London BFF Destress Tinted Serum* (Leslie) | £39 | full review. This is one of my favourite complexion products ever and I can only think that it's not more known because the marketing feels like it's not geared towards Gen Z so it doesn't get discussed a lot within my part of the internet. Also the shade range is not the best (though it is a fairly sheer formula). This is marketed as a tinted serum but it does still have good coverage (definitely more than a water tint formulation). It evens everything out, hydrates my skin and leaves it looking glowing, even and it's absolute best! It also doesn't sink into fine lines or look unflattering as the day wears on. It's also nothing too shiny if you don't want that full-on glow. It's my skin but better and it contains added skincare benefits.

This is a product I've not discussed in a while, but it's like the least-hyped product from the most-hyped brand! Somehow the Ordinary's Pycnogenol 5% | £10.90 | full review. I guess it's not the most intuitive thing to use so maybe people just aren't sure how it fits into a routine, but here's how to use it... This is a waterless serum which kind of feels like an oil but it's actually propanediol. You use it around three times a week and you only need to apply a couple of drops AM or PM at the serum step of your routine. So, what's so great about it? This is a really powerful antioxidant made with maritime pine bark; if you don't know what an antioxidant is, it helps to neutralise free radical damage to the skin which can cause premature ageing. With antioxidants like Vitamin C, you will often notice an overall glow boost in your skin immediately after use, as well as reaping the long-term benefits but honestly: this takes that instant gratification to the next level! It's not at all irritating and makes my skin glow; every day I use this product ends up being a good skin day...

Ok, a facial oil isn't going to be a must-have for everyone, but I personally love them for that extra little 'happy skin' boost. My next underrated pick is an affordable way to dabble in facial oils: the Bondi Sands Wonder Potion Hero Oil* | £9.99 | full review. This is kind of a non-traditional oil because it does contain a water-based ingredient in the humectant glycerin, which helps draw in moisture and gives this product that extra-silky feel and perhaps that's why I love the formula so much. In terms of oils, we have some wonderful stuff in here (especially for the price-point) such as sea buckthorn, rosehip and jojoba, which soften the skin and provide antioxidant benefits (further bolstered with the oil-soluble Vitamin E in the product). This oil doesn't pill, it's not heavy or greasy and it leaves my skin feeling ultra soft and silky.

Next, I had to mention Then I Met You's the Giving Essence* | £51 | full review | which I need to repurchase... This is possibly my favourite Korean-style cleanser, which isn't an accolade I give out lightly! It's a water-based essence with some weight, as it's rich in water-attracting humectants like glycerin. It's formulated with a combination of hydrators, a hard-working active (niacinamide) and fermented ingredients, which is a signature of Korean essences (they can help improve skin quality and hydration). Niacinamide works in a number of ways to help discoloration, regulate oil production in the skin and boost barrier function (and therefore skin health) by increasing ceramide production. Licorice extract is another helpful ingredient for uneven skin tone and turmeric is a great antioxidant, and both are really gentle. With daily use, this made my skin bouncy, radiant, hydrated and healthy and I think it's amazing. I'm not sure if it's the packaging or the admittedly higher price-point, but I don't think this product gets mentioned nearly as much as it deserves to.

A product I talk about a lot is the Ole Henriksen Strength Trainer Peptide Moisturiser* | £42 | full review. I do think this brand can be a little hit and miss and some of the products are a little pricey for what they are, so perhaps that's why this gem has been overlooked a little, but it's honestly one of the best moisturisers I've ever tried. It contains everything I need from a moisturiser, actives that negate the need for multiple serums and the texture and feel on the skin mean it works for me AM or PM. This is formulated with peptides, which are a type of ingredient that hydrates the skin, helps with repair and potentially boosts up collagen production (which diminishes as we age). It also contains ceramides and cholesterol for skin barrier heath and our multi-tasking favourite: niacinamide. This is a wonderful all-rounder for busy days, travel or even just for those who want a quick, simple but effective routine. The texture has a nourishing, buttery quality to it but it feels light at the same time and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy, plus it works great under makeup but is also enough for my skin overnight.

Finally, I wanted to shout out the Refy Concealer (Shade 12) | £22 | full review. I've not bought a liquid concealer in a good few years but I love Refy and their capsule collection of makeup products so decided to try this when it launched, and it did not disappoint! This is a light, hydrating fluid concealer that still gives a good medium coverage that looks natural but still perfects under the eyes. It blends like a dream and once set, it doesn't crease and stays in place. It looks flattering and brightening but nothing too over the top. I love it and I really enjoy their highlighter, blush and bronzer so I would probably go as far as to say that all of their non-brow products are underrated!
