I don't know about you, but weekend trips have been back on the menu for me over the past year and I've felt like I've had to relearn how to juggle lots of things. How to pack a bag for a weekend away, how to freshen up for after-work socialising and how to travel with hand luggage only, to name a few. So, today I thought I'd share the products in my 'weekend away' makeup bag and how I take my looks from a day at the office into going out at the weekend...

I'm a light base girl for days at the office and one of the lowest-maintenance options in my arsenal is the Rose Inc Luminous Tinted Serum* (060) | full review / demo. This is a humectant-based hydrating serum with microspheres of pigment suspended within it. As you work the product into the skin, the spheres burst and you get a natural tint out of it. Overall, the effect is healthy, glowing skin, a bit of coverage and your natural skin still shining through. What I often actually do when I just want to touch up at the end of the day to go out for drinks is take my Nars Light Reflecting Foundation* (Vanuatu) | £39 | review and demo | and use just a few dots on areas I tend to touch throughout the day (such as my chin, nose and jawline) and blend them out to bring back more coverage. The natural, radiant finish of this foundation means it blends really nicely when I've just used the tinted serum earlier in the day and just gives that slightly more flawless, perfected look to the skin, without being too heavy.

A product that lives in my dressing table and also lives in my handbag (I have two pots on the go at any given time!) is the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer (Ginger) | £26 | full review. This is a really good concealer for on-the-go or when I just want to do a quick little touch-up. It can be dabbed on over blemishes or under the eyes to quickly conceal and refresh. The stuff practically blends itself! For something more heavy-duty under the eyes, my weekend bag almost always contains the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer (250W) | £21 | full review / demo. This is a fairly full-coverage concealer that's hydrating and blends like a dream. It just offers that extra-flawless bright under eye look when you really need it. A pressed powder is great to have in your handbag or your 'grab and glow' makeup bag. My personal favourite probably has to be the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder (2 Medium) | £38 | full review. This is a super-lightweight setting powder with a little bit of coverage that sets concealer in place and takes down shine without being cakey or drying.

I also always like to keep cheek and lip sticks on hand because they just make everything quicker and easier! Here I have the Nudestix Nudies Matte in Sunkissed | £30 | full review | and the Nudies Nudie Max Luxe in Dolce Darlin' | £30. The original matte formula is a little creamier and I personally prefer it, but the more gliding formula of the Luxe version is still very good. These can be swiped onto the cheeks (and blended out with the brush that's included) and applied to the lips to tie things together. Both are long-wearing and quick and easy to touch up. Sunkissed is a muted rosy-bronzed tone, whereas Dolce Darlin' in a warm terracotta colour, I love Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand in Goldgasm | £30 | demo. This comes in a tube with a sponge applicator that you can dab onto the skin and blend out for a natural, glitter-free luminosity and I love the warm gold tone of the shade Goldgasm.

An everyday product that's rarely found outside of my handbag is the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in Vanilla Beige | £23 | demo. This is a gorgeous, nourishing lip balm with a tint; the warm rosy nude tone of Vanilla Beige just always works!

Cream eye products are my go-to for weekdays and I do also have a weekend glam upgrade on this. My go-to is the Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Colour in Copper | £26. This is a twist-up crayon so is super easy to just swipe on and blend out; I love how opaque this formula is from one coat and you can just blend out the edges and run it along the lower lashline to have a 60-second eye look. The formula is metallic and dimensional and I love this warm coppery-amber gold tone. To step things up for the evening, I love the Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Foil | £28. This is a 'press on and go' glitter shadow that doesn't need a base or mixing medium to stick to the lids and not flake off (you can even apply it over the top of something like the Caviar eye stick). This is a quick and easy to apply glitter-based cream shadow in a warm gold tone.

One of the easiest ways to take your look from work to weekend is adding in a bit of winged liner. I personally really like the Fenty Beauty Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner in Big Truffle | £19. This is a long-wearing, smudge resistant liquid liner that comes in a pigmented warm brown shade so it's a little more subtle and forgiving than jet black. Finally, I have to shout out my Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £9.99. This just gives me the perfect balance of curl, length and separated, clump-free volume. It doesn't flake or smudge so is perfect for long days. It's not too much for a day at the office and it's not so natural it won't work for a more glammed-up look!
