COLD WEATHER SKIN SAVIOURS

I'm not a fan of the cold weather and neither is my skin! Today I wanted to talk about my tried and trusted products to get me through the autumn / winter months, in the hopes they might give your skin a break too.

- FACE MASKS -

Dr Roebuck's Tama Healing Mask* | £25 | This is just an all-round pick-me-up for sensitive, irritated, dry skin. It contains turmeric, manuka honey and avocado oil as its key ingredients, which are so soothing and calming. I like to leave it on for a good while to work its magic and revive my dull, weather-beaten winter skin!

REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask* | £30 | This is amazing if you have sensitive skin because it's so incredibly mild and is designed to reinforce the skin's natural barrier. It really hydrates my skin (with shea butter, jojoba oil and coconut extract) and makes it look and feel healthier and plumper. If your skin is feeling tight or irritated this winter then definitely check it out!

- SERUMS -

Niod Modulating Glucosides* | £21 | I was actually pleasantly surprised at the price-point of this; Niod is more on the premium side but I think this is a great price for the product you're getting. This is an emulsion so can be used before or in place of a serum. The lipids and peptides in this product are designed to calm skin irritation and I know my sensitivity often flares up as the weather gets colder. This has such a lovely soothing effect and also helps to reduce redness.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst-Quenching Serum* | £29 | This is an almost water-light hydrating serum formulated with Caudalie's own grape water and hyaluronic acid. This absorbs quickly, so I definitely recommend it if you have oily or combination skin but just want that extra bit of hydration for the colder months. It really eases any tightness, softening and plumping up the skin to give you a healthy complexion.

- MOISTURISERS -

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra* | £17.50 | This is an old favourite of mine that comes out every single winter! I've had really horrendous skin flare-ups in the past and this was the only thing that didn't irritate my skin further and actually gave me some temporary relief. It's a lightweight cream, so if you suffer from sensitivity but you don't have dry skin; this will still work really well for you. There are no perfumes, no parabens and no alcohol in this formula. It contains hydrating spring water from La Roche-Posay's own source, along with shea butter, glycerine and neurosensine.

Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream | £35.50 | This moisturiser somehow has a super-concentrated nourishing formula but a dry-touch finish. Ceramides help to strengthen the skin's natural moisture barrier and this is packed full of them! It's so softening and smoothing, plus contains no fragrance so won't irritate sensitive skin. This is great for keeping your skin looking and feeling healthy throughout autumn-winter.

Kate Somerville Nourish Daily Moisturiser* | £55 | This is a sensitive-skin friendly moisturiser that also claims to prevent ageing. It definitely has more of a lightweight lotion texture but still feels really nourishing on my skin, so I don't need to apply a lot of product to get that hydration. It's a great one for when your skin is feeling a bit tight and uncomfortable, because it softens and smooths things nicely. It contains Vitamin C to brighten, Vitamin A for its anti-ageing properties and lavender and green tea to calm the skin.

True North De-Stressed Night* | £46 | I love slapping something really moisturising on my skin overnight so I wake up to soft, hydrated skin, and this has been doing the job for me recently. It's a slightly richer cream but isn't anything too greasy for my skin and doesn't cause me congestion or anything like that. It's fragrance-free so great for sensitive skin and is formulated with aloe vera and Swiss thermal spring water, so is soothing as well as hydrating.

- TONERS -

B. Calm Camomile Spritz* | £7.99 | This is an affordable face mist that I really recommend for dehydrated or sensitive skin. As the name suggests; this is a calming formula with chamomile. You can mist something like this on your skin for instant relief if things are feeling a bit tight and irritated.

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist* | £18 | This is a slightly heavier face mist, making it great for drier skin types, but at the same time it doesn't leave a tacky excess on my skin. It just really plumps and softens my skin, which is a welcome relief during the winter months. It's formulated with hyaluronic acid and black oat.

Pixi Rose Glow Mist* | £16 | If you're more looking for a dewy, glow-y take on hydration; this is the face mist for you! It's been my absolute favourite recently; it's blended with flower oils so you have to give it a good shake before misting your skin with it, however I just love how fresh and healthy this makes my complexion look. It can also be used over makeup for a luminous look.

- BODY -

Kind Natured Ultra Gentle Oatmeal & Aloe Body Wash* | £4.99 | I've always had really dry skin on my body and during the winter months it's most noticeable. That means that even when it comes to my body wash; I want to use something I know isn't going to strip it of moisture and make things even worse! I absolutely love this natural, hydrating, gentle formula and the oatmeal and aloe scent smells beautiful. It isn't super foaming (like most natural cleansing products) but I actually prefer that.

CeraVe Moisturising Cream* | £4 | This is a great affordable option if you suffer with skin irritation. I've been using this on an everyday basis; it's fragrance-free and pretty unglamorous but it works for my skin. It isn't greasy and doesn't take ages to massage in but is soooo hydrating on my skin, leaving it nice and soft. It contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid, plus you can also use it on the face, if you so wish.

Caudalie Divine Oil | £28 | My preference is to use a body oil, though they can be pretty pricey, so I use this sparingly! It smells absolutely beautiful and comes in a spray bottle, so you can just mist it over the skin and rub it in for intense nourishment. I love how this absorbs into my skin and doesn't sit on the surface. It just makes my skin so nice and soft!

CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream* | £5.50 | This has been another staple of my routine recently because it gives my hands lasting hydration without making them greasy. Ceramides and hyaluronic acid both hydrate and help restore the skin's barrier and retain moisture. It just does the job for me.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm | £10 | This is a super-nourishing lip balm that never fails to give me soft lips that won't crack or get chapped. It has a thicker texture, so I use this overnight. I've been applying this every single night before bed for years and wouldn't have it any other way!
