Although I love doing a full-on skin pamper at the weekend, for 5 mornings out of 7, I'm in a mad rush! However of course that doesn't mean my skin is always going to behave... Today I'm talking through the quick fixes that will give your skin a boost with minimal effort.
Frances Prescott Tri-Balm* | £46 | This is an amazing all-in-one product I've been reaching for every morning. It's a balm cleanser, moisturising treatment and exfoliator that can be applied in a few quick swipes! I massage it into my skin to lock in that nourishment and get rid of any dry patches before rinsing. It emulsifies with water, making it even more quick and easy. It contains a lovely blend of natural oils, moisturising Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid (to plump and hydrate the skin) and pumpkin enzymes (to gently exfoliate). I can already tell this is going to be a travel favourite for me too!
REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial | £33 | I think this is the OG express facial - at least in my skincare stash. It has the most unusual texture - a sort of watery paste - but bear with it! All you have to do is apply it to the skin and work it in (using slightly damp fingers) for a minute to activate the glow-boosting Vitamin C. It just helps tired and lacklustre skin look healthier, more radiant, smoother and more hydrated, plus the results are instant.
Gatineau Peeling Expert Radiance Enhancing Gommage* | £36 (for full size) | This is a really unusual product - it comes out as a gel (which you apply to dry skin) and as you massage it in, it kind of melts into a liquid. In total it only takes a minute or two and contains all the good stuff like Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid (are you noticing a trend...) and AHAs (which are acid exfoliators, removing dead skin cells to reveal a radiant complexion). It's a great instant boost for dull skin and leaves things looking fresh and healthy, making it a great antidote to those days when you wake up and things are looking a bit lacklustre.
Lixir Vitamin C Paste | £32 | This contains L-ascorbic acid, a natural form of Vitamin C. It has a sort of melting gel formula and you only need a tiny amount. It should be massaged in with damp fingertips and then left for a few minutes (I often leave it on whilst I brush my teeth) before rinsing. It immediately and noticeably revives and refreshes dull skin and just makes its tone look more even.
Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel* | £21 | This is a quick, gentle option as far as glycolic acid (AHA) masks go! It has a gel formula which also contains exfoliating pomegranate enzymes and although I can feel a very mild sensation, it isn't irritating and doesn't leave my skin looking red (which is important when I'm heading straight out to work), as it actually contains anti-inflammatory ingredients to balance things out. I leave it on for five minutes before rinsing and I love the instant glow boost I get from it. It also leaves my skin softer with any dry patches smoothed out.
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment* | £33 (as part of a set) | If the Merumaya was the gentle option then this is kind of the opposite! It's a product with a huge following and is now available on Cult Beauty. It certainly is 'intensive' but you can't argue with the results, which it kicks up to the next level. I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin, but if you can handle it then this is a really great option. It's packed full of AHAs and pumpkin and papaya which give me fresh, glowing, super-smooth skin in just two minutes!
What do you reach for when you want a quick skin boost?

I love the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate, there is also a more gentle version available as well for sensitive skin. I'll have to try some of these other masks sometime.
ReplyDeleteI've been using a sample of a peel recently, it's a gel which you massage in and it exfoliates away, then you rinse immediately. It's perfect for a quick fix!

I really enjoy the REN mask and should repurchase! The only thing I dislike is the almost metallic scent but the results are worth it though.

I love the Ren mask so much, it sounds like the Lixir one would work for me too. The Kate Somerville sounds good for a once in a while type treatment too.
