The Everyday Makeup Edit #13

I've discovered some really great products recently that have made their way into my makeup rotation, so today I'm going to talk you through the highlights of the everyday routine I've been going for over the past few weeks.

Base

After masking my pretty-obvious dark circles with the Bobbi Brown Corrector (Peach) | £19.50 | review | I've been obsessed with a new primer! The Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer | £15 | is both incredibly smoothing and a great base for makeup. It stops foundation settling into fine lines or emphasising my pores and gives a satin finish, also helping my makeup last. It's an amazing all-rounder! My go-to foundation is still Nars Sheer Glow (Stromboli) | £33 | because this is definitely an autumn-winter base for me and I'd like to use it up before I switch to something fresher for the warmer months. It gives a flawless medium-full coverage with a radiant satin finish. I love how perfect it makes my skin look and it's also very long-wearing. These are all reasons why it's my holy grail!

To conceal under the eyes I can't get enough of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (Medium) | £22. It's just incredibly full coverage without being heavy, cakey or drying. It's long-wearing and crease-proof, plus this shade really brightens and highlights under my eyes. I'm still committed to the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer (Ginger) | £24 | review | for the face and I'm setting my makeup using the Vichy Dermablend Makeup Translucent Setting Powder* | £18 | from last month's instalment.

Cheeks

On my cheeks I've been highlighting almost every single day using the Jouer Powder Highlighter in Skinny Dip | £19 (for full size). This is an intense, gorgeous formula that's incredibly smooth and not at all powdery or gritty. The colour itself is stunning - a sort of warm golden-peach. One of my favourite everyday blusher shades is Getting Handsy from the ColourPop Pressed Powder Face Duo in Double Play | $16. It just applies perfectly and evenly, doesn't go patchy during the day and has that ideal level of pigmentation. This warm terracotta nude colour is also perfect for my everyday makeup looks. For adding warmth and dimension, I'm loving the Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Bronzed | £23. This is a gorgeous matte formula that's nothing too orange and applies nice and evenly.

Eyes

I still use my Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion | £17.50 | and MAC Paint Pot in Layin Low | £16.50 | from last month's post to prep the lids however for eyeshadow I've rediscovered an old favourite: my beloved Lorac Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette | $42. I just loooove the formula of this palette! The mattes are creamy, pigmented and easy to blend and the shimmers have a semi-foiled effect, meaning they give a liquid metal finish. The longevity is good and it's just the perfect palette to create a warm, romantic everyday or smokey eye.

To tightline and do my wing, I still reach for my trusty Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Stingray | £14.50 | and Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black | £14.50 | which you can read about here. I finally finished my other tiny stump of coloured liner so I've moved onto the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Smog | £15.50. This formula is creamy to apply but long-wearing and smudge-proof once it's on. It has a soft metallic sheen and this is a bronzed golden-brown colour - I use it on the lower lash line.

It's all change on the brows and lashes front! I'm currently trialling the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara | £8.99 | and so far, so good. It won't be knocking Lash Sensational off its perch, but I do really like the clump-free volume it gives me. It's also lengthening and curling and doesn't smudge or flake. I've been using a pretty high-end duo for my brows - I definitely don't think you have to spend so much money on this type of product at all, however if you can make the splurge then I'm really enjoying both of them! The Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brown* | £29 | and Hourglass Arch Brow Volumising Gel in Soft Brown* | £22. I don't think I'd have picked out this colour myself, however for the pencil, it's spot on (though I tend to go for a slightly darker gel, so if I repurchase this I'll get Dark Brown instead). I really like this spooly and the angled pencil tip definitely helps to get the shape perfect. I love the level of pigmentation - it's just so natural! I'm also a fan of the gel - I don't have to scrape loads of it off to ensure there's not too much product on the brush - I can just go straight in there. It adds a very natural amount of volume, colour and thickness to my brows which is perfect for low-maintenance days.

Lips

The Gosh Ultimate Lip Liner With a Twist in Nougat Twist* | £6.99 | has probably been my most-used recent discovery - I'm obsessed! This is a twist-up creamy lip pencil that really helps define things and is in the perfect colour for my usual lip tones, which are usually a sort of warm pinky-brown nude. I often pair this with the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Clay Crush | £6.99 |, a gorgeous terracotta-toned nude in a non-drying but matte, long-wearing formula. I'm also a huge fan of the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip in Matte Beige* | £16. It's so comfortable - just like a normal creamy lipstick - but lasts for hours and hours! This is a perfect mid-toned taupey-brown colour.

  15. What a lovely post, some great natural picks for your everyday look! Some lovely tones!

For me it's Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream on the skin, Magic Foundation on areas where I need it, Benefit Goof Proof on the brow or Tarte Cosmetics, Shape Tape is a great concealer from Tarte, Urban Decay's primer potion is a must for sure it's wonderful. Lips, nothing in day at the moment aside from a little tinted lip balm from Hotel Chocolat!
