I thought I'd start a new series on my blog featuring the products I recommend from my favourite online beauty stockists. I'm kicking things off with BeautyBay and I've tried to pick products that you can't really get anywhere else (or at least in many other places). Let me know in the comments which site you'd like to see featured next but for this week we're going to chat my 10 favourites (in no particular order) from indie US makeup brand heaven!
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey | £21 | This is a stunning, true gold highlighter with warm undertones. I do have a lot of these shades in my collection and one or two (dare I say it...) have surpassed this one as my most-used, however it'll always hold a special place in my collection! It just gives a gorgeous metallic glow and the formula doesn't contain any glitter at all. The highlight it gives is both intense in its pigmentation but also natural in the way it applies and looks on the skin.
Milani Baked Blushes in Luminoso & Berry Amore | £10 each | I was so torn over whether to include Milani's stunning highlighters in this post or their blushers, but I had to go with the classics! (There is a brand focus on the way though, so look out for that...) Although the brand remains relatively affordable (despite its luxe-look packaging) - these have gone up in price considerably of late, which is a shame. However they're still well worth it because these blushes have a gorgeous formula. I definitely think it varies depending on the shade - Luminoso is softer and has a luminous sheen (as the name suggests), whereas Berry Amore is a bit more of a traditional shimmer blusher. The famous Luminoso is a warm peach tone that's perfect on me for a subtle look. Berry Amore is probably my more-used shade though, as it's perfect with a berry lip - it has that warm tone that's perfect for autumn and winter but is still very soft and subtle (like a hint of corresponding colour to your lipstick). They both apply smoothly with the perfect level of pigment that's not too much and they wear extremely well.
Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Pans in Grandstand & Legend | £7.95 each | I love love love Makeup Geek eyeshadows (they pretty much made building your own custom palette attainable on a budget) and my favourites are from their Foiled range. This formula has the most stunning texture and finish - a sort of dewy, liquid-gold effect. They feel very smooth and just have this intense pigmentation. They wear nicely on my lids too. Grandstand is a coppery rose gold tone (that I just hit pan on!) and Legend is a warm amber-toned coppery gold.
Dose of Colours Matte Lipstick in Truffle | £16 | This is one of my favourite liquid lipstick formulas - the only reason I don't own more from the range is purely because none of the other shades caught my eye or felt different enough to what I already own. I love the curved applicator, which helps you to define your lips, and the packaging is really nice for the mid-range price-point. The formula feels very soft and comfortable on my lips but looks totally matte and is pretty long-wearing (though does transfer slightly due to its creamier texture). Truffle is a sort of pinky-brown nude that always seems to work, whether it's a day at the office or paired with a smoky eye on a night out.
Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick Everything Nice | £15 | This has to be one of my most-used liquid lipsticks! I love this formula because it's so pigmented and is a true matte liquid lipstick that doesn't transfer and lasts all night long. It isn't anything drying (though 'hydrating' is a bit strong) and doesn't emphasise imperfections on my lips. This is a warm brown-beige nude that I really struggle to describe in a way that does it justice! I reach for this a lot on nights out when I want something more than a nude but don't want to wear a bold colour.
Ofra Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Miami Fever | £11 | I don't think any other lipstick has got the level of use this summer that this one has - it's just perfect for a warm-toned look in the evening. It's also the most affordable liquid lipstick in this post, coming in at a similar level to the higher end of the drugstore (such as L'Oreal and Revlon) but delivering a much better product. One thing I don't like about this is that the writing does rub off the tube. This is a stunning shade that perfectly balances red and orange - I'm not usually someone who suits reds but this is the exception! The formula is more like a comfortable cream than a very fluid liquid lipstick, however it doesn't transfer too much (I never really worry about it looking messy if I'm eating or drinking with this on) and lasts incredibly well.
Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette | £18 | review | I'm a huge fan of Zoeva eyeshadow palettes, so it was tricky to select one for this post... However as we head into autumn, I'm gravitating a lot towards this old favourite. The quality is excellent, as is the packaging and design for the mid-range price tag. The mattes are very smooth and blend out easily despite having excellent pigmentation. A lot of the shimmers remind me of the Makeup Geek Foiled shadows in their effect because they just have that smoothness and colour payoff. These last well on me and they're pretty much my go-to for a warm eyeshadow look. I really like the pops of colour in here because they make this something special and unique.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette | £41 | review | Again, it was tough to choose a representative for ABH, the cult makeup artist brand, however I couldn't not include this palette! (Apologies for the swatches, as they were taken with a different camera.) The pigmentation of these shades is insane, so that does impact on their ease of application and their everyday wearability, however I love this for an evening look or something more dramatic. There is a little bit of fallout, however this isn't a product you really need to load up your brush with when using and I still find the longevity good. As I'm sure you can see, it's 'all killer, no filler' here; there's not a single dud in the palette. It contains pretty much everything I need in terms of mattes, though there are a handful of shimmers. If I have a negative for this palette, it's that it could do with a mid-toned brown-bronze lid colour in the mix.
Juvia's Place The Saharan Palette | £30 | review | Juvia's Place is a black-owned brand predominantly focused on eyeshadows (though they produce other colour products). I love the packaging and the themes of these palettes and I'd been wanting to try them for ages. It was tough to pick which one to go for, however I decided on the Saharan because it offers something new and different for my makeup collection. The colour payoff with these shades is INSANE! At the same time, I find them easy to blend and work with. It's the palette for people who want to try warm, jewel tones but don't want full-on colour because it's actually very wearable. I'd say the longevity isn't bad, but it isn't incredible either - after a long day, I do notice some fading.
Morphe Elite Brushes: E28 Round Blender Brush & E3 Precision Pointed Powder Brush | £8-18 | Morphe is a brand I've had mixed fortunes with - the brushes that I tried from their standard range didn't last well and just weren't good quality in my personal opinion. The eyeshadows overall were nice but they just don't stand up to comparable alternatives n terms of longevity. However, the Elite brushes were the exception and I'd say they're definitely worth checking out. This range has been inexplicably replaced with the identical-looking Elite II range, so I've linked those. I've found these synthetic brushes to be good quality and they're more or less as they were (in terms of the shape and bristles) when I first purchased them, after many washes since then. Despite the name, this eyeshadow brush is actually perfect for the crease, whether it's to get a soft look or something more precise, the shape really works. The powder brush can be used for bronzer and blusher, but personally, I find it perfect for face powder. It works for me whether it's packing it on or doing a light dusting and the tapered point means it fits under the eyes too for setting.

Great post! Up until summer, my favourite Beauty Bay brand was Natasha Denona but now that they've stopped stocking ND, I find I don't visit the site as often. That being said, they do stock amazing brands and I love that they brought the Jaclyn Hills palette to this side of the Atlantic! xx
