It's time for what I think will be the last instalment in my Most Reached-For series. This time we're talking lip colours! It's been tough but I've whittled it down to my my 10 most-used shades, which are unsurprisingly almost all everyday kind of shades with a few of my absolute favourites for the evening thrown in.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Petal | £20 | I have a couple of these but wanted to choose the one I gravitate towards the most for this post, which was narrowly Petal. It contains SPF15, has a hydrating and nourishing formula and gives an impressively pigmented wash of colour (in comparison to other tinted lip balms). This is a warm pink-nude colour that just always works on low-maintenance days. It's one of my absolute fail-safe go-tos on work days.
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Curviest Caramel | £18 | This is another quick and easy option to throw in your bag and apply on the go when you're running a bit late... It has a moisturising formula that's more opaque than their standard Chubby Sticks. This is a mid-toned pinky-brown nude that goes with virtually all of my everyday makeup looks.
MAC Lustre Lipstick in Jubilee | £16.50 | This is probably the first lipstick I've close-to finished in its entirety! It's seen me through just about every serious job interview I've ever had and is still one I regularly gravitate towards for a day at the office. It's a semi-sheer Lustre finish in a warm brown-toned nude colour. It just adds the perfect amount of colour and won't fade unevenly throughout the day.
ColourPop Matte Lippie Stix in Brink | $5 | This is just the most perfect warm brown nude with mauve undertones. The mid-toned colour of it really does make it perfect to wear day-to-day. The ColourPop Matte formula still does have a slight sheen, making it creamy, opaque and comfortable to wear, as well as having amazing longevity. Whenever I don't know what to wear but I'm feeling like a proper lipstick formula, my hand instinctively twitches in the direction of this!
Urban Decay Vice Comfort Matte Lipstick in Carnal | £15.50 | When Urban Decay pulled its entire lipstick collection, I was dubious, however the Comfort Matte formula has been a game-changer! It gives that true matte formula whilst being easy to apply (without skipping) and it never feels dry. This is a warm terracotta-coloured medium-dark brown nude. It's perfect for those days when I want something a little deeper and more sophisticated than my usual colours. It's very long-lasting and there's minimal transfer.
Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Clay Crush | £6.99 | This isn't the most opaque formula but it does glide onto the lips without clinging to dry patches or sucking out all of the moisture! The colour itself is gorgeous with a golden-bronze summer makeup look, as it's a very warm medium terracotta tone.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Strip Me Down | £16.50 | It was a tough choice but this has just pipped Taupe to the post, as I'm such a fan of a beige-toned lip these days. This is a medium-beige that's slightly warm but not overly so. It's one of MAC's nice, creamy mattes so is smooth and pigmented, as well as long-lasting. I wear this all the time, from work days to paired with a warm smoky eye in the evening.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Mehr | £16.50 | An old favourite of mine for when I want something bolder than a nude but more subdued than a full-on colour! It's a sort of dusky pink colour that works all year round and both for day and night, so it's no surprise that it's a favourite... It seems to have dethroned Twig as my #1 in terms of these kinds of colours, though it was a close race. This is again a very nice, creamy formulation that gives a true, lasting matte finish.
ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Echo Park | $6 | This is just my favourite liquid lipstick formula and Echo Park is my favourite shade in it. It feels like a normal lipstick and gives an opaque, semi-matte finish that's both comfortable and long-wearing. Echo Park is a mid-toned warm peachy-brown nude that's another one of those shades you can wear on a day-to-day basis or with a bolder makeup look when you want to focus on your eyes.
Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Everything Nice | £11 | This is one of the most comfortable true matte liquid lipsticks I've ever tried, which makes it one of my go-tos for nights out when I want something that'll stay in place and give opaque colour. The shade itself is a warm, rich brown colour that's not too deep but still looks nicely bold.

I definitely prefer the ultra satin over the ultra-matte formula from colour pop. Though ultra glossy is my favorite formula so far.
