Brand You Need to Know About | Pixi Beauty

It honestly wasn't until I pulled out all the products in my collection that I realised just how much I use Pixi products! I will say upfront that I do rate their skincare more than their makeup, however this post is going to be an overview of my entire stash.

Skincare

Glow Mud Cleanser | £18 | One of my bugbears about Pixi products is that the writing rubs off the packaging so easily! However inside this slightly ropey-looking tube is a fantastic cleanser. It's a really interesting gel-cream-mud texture and contains a small amount of glycolic acid, which helps to give the skin radiance without being harsh or the need to use a really intense treatment. I'm not sure why this is so overlooked but if you want a product that feels luxurious on the skin and gives you your everyday dose of glow: this is it.

Nourishing Cleansing Balm | £18 | This is one of the few skincare products from Pixi that was actually a bit disappointing for me! I love cleansing balms, I love Pixi; this should've been a match made in heaven. It's gentle and it does work for removing makeup, however the issue for me is that it doesn't emulsify on contact with water, like I'd expect, making it really quite hard to remove. It's fine with a muslin cloth but I don't always have a clean one to hand and I prefer my makeup removers to be quick and easy. This leaves a bit of an unpleasant film behind on my skin and I don't like the grainy texture as you work the product in.

Glowtion Day Dew* | £24 | This glowing moisturiser won't be for everyone but I personally love it! It gives your skin a natural sheen and comes in practical, hygienic packaging. It's very hydrating but not at all greasy or heavy. When I want fresh, glowing, hydrated skin; this is what I reach for!

Beauty Sleep Cream* | £24 | This is an old favourite of mine that I actually purchased myself a while back and used up completely. It's a rich, but not greasy, night cream that's incredibly nourishing. It's nothing too heavy so can be used every night without smothering or breaking out your skin. For this time of year it's great for maintaining soft, hydrated skin.

Glow Tonic | £18 | Of course this cult classic is in the mix! This is pretty much the perfect starter product if you're new to acid toners; it helps reduce the appearance of any dark spots or scars and of course removes dead skin via a chemical exfoliation. I use this every other day in the evening after cleansing or on days when my skin is in need of some instant radiance.

Nourishing Sleep Mask | £18 | Despite being billed as a mask as opposed to a night cream, this is definitely lightweight enough for everyday use. This is kind of like the Beauty Sleep Cream kicked up a gear. When my skin is dull, tired and dry then this gives a much-needed overnight moisture boost, smoothing and softening my skin.

Overnight Glow Serum | £26 | This isn't one I tend to reach for much but I'm not sure why, because I really liked it this time last year! As the name suggests; it's a serum formula to be used overnight, either on its own or under a hydrating night cream. It has a gel-like consistency, so leaves a slight tackiness but I don't mind when I'm using an overnight product. It definitely helps my skin look more vibrant and glowing when I wake up in the morning.

Hydrating Milky Mist | £18 | This has been one of my most-used products. I often opt for a face mist in the morning in place of a toner because it's just quicker and easier. This is the perfect winter option for a refreshing but moisturising spritz after cleansing. It's very lightweight and not at all sticky on the skin but has a softening, nourishing and plumping effect.

Glow Mist* | £16 | This is another face mist, which I'd say is even more refreshing and cooling on the skin. I can see myself reaching for this a lot in the summer months too. It doesn't leave my skin overly dewy but I do feel it looks fresh and healthy after use. Again, I usually use this in the morning instead of applying a toner.

24K Eye Elixir* | £22 | This is an eye gel with a cooling metal rollerball applicator. It definitely helps my tired, puffy eyes feel more awake first thing in the morning! If you need a really nourishing eye cream then this probably isn't for you, but if your main concern is soothing any puffiness then this will more than do the job.

Makeup

Brow Tamer* | £12 | I've been more into my tinted brow gels recently, however when I'm using something like a brow pomade, that can be a bit too much product, so a clear option like this always has a place in my collection. It's hard to get excited about a clear brow gel because it either does the job or it doesn't, however I have been reaching for this a lot. It doesn't feel too stiff (some formulas I've tried honestly give the feeling of having coated your eyebrows in hair gel...) but keeps any unruly little hairs in place.

Fairy Dust Favourites in Metallic Warmth* | £12 | This is a fantastic little set of loose pigments. For the swatches below I gave my arm a spritz of Fix +, which I always recommend using on your brush with this type of product to ensure it sticks to the lids and you get that amazing pigmentation (and avoid fallout). The shades in this set are absolute perfection! They have this sort of duo chrome finish in a selection of warm tones that give an incredible dewy finish on the lids. Whilst they do dull down slightly by the end of the day, I don't find these crease or make a mess like some pigments can (by migrating to and gathering in the crease!)

Copper Peach Eyeshadow Palette | £15 | I definitely don't use this one enough! It's just a nice, easy collection of eyeshadows; they're pigmented but blend out nicely and are effortless to apply. The shades are warm and peach-toned but still really wearable. They're mainly shimmers with a subtle sheen (as opposed to full on dewy metallics) but there are also a few mattes in there. You can create a nice, everyday look with these shades and I find the wear time to be pretty decent.

Matte Lustre Lipstick in Bitten Rose | £14 | This is a really interesting lipstick formula because it's pigmented and has a slight sheen without being a creamy formula. I really need to use this shade more because it's one of those great shades that's just a step below being a full-on colour, making it very wearable. Though the sheen does fade throughout the day, I do still feel the colour lasts a good 4 hours before I need to reapply.

Tinted Shea Butter Lip Balm in Honey Nectar | £8 | This has somewhat fallen out of favour with me since I discovered the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments but actually, it's still a great affordable option. As well as a nourishing lip balm formula it gives a gorgeous wash of warm brown nude colour.

Endless Silky Eye Pencil in Opal Overcoat* | £11 | I'm so sorry I mislabelled this shade in the below swatch because I thought it was the more golden tone Oyster Glow! This is a creamy, opaque formula that's still very long-wearing. This pale champagne tone is perfect for highlighting the inner corner to make your eyes look bright and awake.

Rosy Radiance Rosette Palette* | £22 | I think this is as close to an 'entire face in a palette' as it gets! You have your face highlighter, brows, blusher, bronzer/contour, brow highlight and an array of eyeshadows. I was pleasantly surprised with the formula of the eyeshadows; I personally prefer these to the ones in the mineral palette because the shimmers are a bit more dewy and pigmented. I find they blend nicely, look good once applied and wear well. I really like the muted peachy-nude shimmery blusher because it's subtle and goes with just about any makeup look. I don't usually go for pink-toned highlighters but I actually really like the one in this palette; it looks very natural on the skin. The brow powders are fine but I probably wouldn't get this out just to use it for my brows but these work for an everyday look when I'm already using this palette. The bronzer is ok - it has good pigmentation but for me it's just a bit too shimmery and I prefer a matte look, though I have to say it blends out very nicely on the skin.

  2. I love Pixi as well, both skincare and makeup wise! Having said that, I still need to try their Hydrating Milky Mist! I personally really like the smoothing effect of the Mattelustre formula and the Copper Peach eyeshadow palette is among my all time favourites yet, just as you, I have a tendency to forget it!

  7. I have finally tried some Pixi skincare and the Glow Mud Cleanser and the mask have instantly become my favourites. The Glow Tonic didn't wow me but probably because my skin is well accustomed to much stronger chemical exfoliators.
Those metallic pigments are stunning! x

  8. I am an avid Glow Tonic user but have yet to really branch out with Pixi products. I picked up the double cleanse collab with Caroline Hirons but have yet to use it (trying to be good about finishing other products). I've been eyeing the glow mud cleanser but never hear much about it (as you mentioned), but you kinda sold me on it! Will probably aim to pick it up after I finish up a few more cleansers I have on hand. I also want to try the hydrating milky mist as it's one of those products that is just buzzing in the beauty community right now, it sounds lovely! I'm actually the opposite as I cannot bare spritzing anything cold on my face in the winter, but yes def excited for warmer weather when it'll be more refreshing! Great roundup of Pixi products, Jasmine!

I have been obsessed with that brow tamer. I don't know what makes it so amazing since it is just a clear gel but I love it xxx
