The Winter Beauty Edit

It's time again for a seasonal beauty edit! Although it's surprisingly mild for this time of year, it's definitely winter. I can't say wintery tones are my natural territory but these are the products I'm loving this season and they're a great way to dip your toe into these sorts of shades.

Makeup

Too Faced Hangover Primer | £27 | review | No surprises here for regular readers! This is a hydrating cream-based primer that takes care of any dry patches and makes sure my base doesn't sit on top of my skin but instead looks natural and radiant.

Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (St. Moritz) | £29.50 | review | This was my 'every single day' base last year and I'm already reaching for it loads again this winter. It's just the perfect product if you want something hydrating but not at all greasy or 'wet'-looking on the skin. It just gives that 'my skin but better' look that's radiant and natural.

Too Faced Born This Way Concealer (Medium) | £20 | review | This was in my Autumn edit too but it's good enough to have been carried forwards! It's just a really nice, hydrating concealer perfect for dry skin. Particularly under the eyes it gives a very radiant look (though I do have to set this to make sure it doesn't crease).

Topshop Limited Edition Christmas Highlighter in Sun Warrior | £10 | review | I don't think this will be around much longer, so get it whilst you can! It's a baked highlighter with such a nice, smooth formula in a light but warm gold colour. It's the perfect, slightly frostier, winter highlight for my skin tone and the glitter-free finish looks so natural.

Nars Dolce Vita Blush | £23 | review | This has been so neglected by me! I recently rediscovered it and realised it's perfect to get that 'just in from the cold' look. It's nothing too overboard but it's a nice rosy-berry shade with reddish-pink undertones. It has a slight sheen but shows as matte to me. It just goes on so nicely and isn't anything over-the-top or clown-like.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette | £18 | review | Of course it had to be this palette! I love warm tones on the eyes for this time of year and these sorts of colours are also perfect with a festive red lip. I think the pigmentation, texture and overall quality of these eyeshadows is fantastic; they're just so easy to work with. I also think that the little pops of colour take this to the next level and elevate it beyond being a standard warm nude eyeshadow palette. I've swatched some of my favourites below for you.

MAC Matte Lipstick in Chili | £15.50 | review | This is one of the few reds I can pull of (or at least I can in my mind...) It's a fairly creamy formula but is sometimes slightly drying, however it's nothing a bit of lip balm can't resolve and it gives you that long wear-time. This is quite a warm-toned red with very slight terracotta undertones, which is the way to go if you have warm colouring like me.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip in Carolina | £21 | review | Another rediscovery has been this. If I want something a bit more everyday-appropriate and moisturising then this is the perfect sheer winter lip. It's a sort of pinky-berry colour that's pigmented but still so wearable. It also pairs beautifully with the Dolce Vita blusher.

Skincare, Haircare & Body Products

Leighton Denny Light & Dark Delightful Eau de Parfum* | £43.50 | It's so hard to find wintery scents that aren't quite heavy and masculine but I think Leighton Denny have really nailed it with this one. It's deep but still fruity with notes of lotus flower, musk and blood orange (amongst others). It also lasts really well on my skin so definitely isn't one of those fragrances you put on in the morning and then by lunchtime you're wondering where it went! In fact, my only negative is the packaging; the price-point is up there with designer scents so I feel it could have looked a bit more premium.

Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask | £18 | review | When my skin is a bit dry and sensitive, I always reach for this. It has a cream-based consistency but isn't too rich or heavy at all. It doesn't feel greasy but still gives me so much nourishment.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil | £17 | review | This is just the most amazing, nourishing oil formula! It leaves my skin so soft without any excess and with no slippery feel. As well as using this for the body, it also works really well as a hair oil.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm | £9.50 | review | Of course this is also in the mix! It has quite a heavy consistency so I do use this overnight, but it never fails to make my chapped winter lips soft and free from any dry patches.

Lanolip Lano Everywhere Cream* | £10.99 | This can be used all over the body and has a nice, grease-free texture despite doing a good job of hydrating my skin. However at the moment I'm really liking it as a hand cream. My hands are so dry at this time of year so something like this by my bed really helps.

Essie Nail Polish in Fishnet Stockings | £7.99 | review | Of course I had to go for a classic red for my winter edit. This is a really nice shade with slightly pink undertones. Whilst I do feel it should last longer before it chips, I do find the formula to be very opaque, even with just one coat.

  2. The colours in the Zoeva palette are soo pretty! I was toying between that one and the Naturally Yours palette last time I was at the Zoeva counter and now I'm thinking I may have to go back and pick up the Cocoa Blend too! Also I've always wanted to try the Nuxe Oil but oils I've used in the past haven't been nourishing enough for me as I have quite dry skin. Would you have any idea if this is more nourishing than other options on the market? xxx
