The Lazy Day Makeup Menu

It's that bit between Christmas and New Year (and I've been lucky enough to get all 3 'not bank holiday' days off this year) so personally I always revert to quick and easy makeup that's one step above 'no makeup' makeup for family stuff and those casual trips to the cinema or out for lunch.

Base

Becca Backlight Priming Filter | £32 | This is the primer I reach for when I want both hydration and a bit of glow (so there's not really any need to apply a separate highlighter on top). This isn't hugely smoothing or pore-filling but it gives your skin this dewy, flawless look.

Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick (Grandest Golden Neutral) | £23 | review | I'm actually nearly out of this stuff because it's so quick and easy to apply and even to throw in your bag for on-the-go touch ups. All you have to do is swipe the product on and blend it out with a buffing brush. I'd say it's a medium coverage with a radiant satin finish. I don't think it's the most long-wearing formula but that bothers me less on a bank holiday when I don't need my base to still look good after 12 hours (like when I'm at work). It just looks so natural and flawless that it's worth it!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer (Medium Neutral) | £17.50 | review | Of course this is in the mix! It's just one of those great concealers that you can use under your eyes and it isn't too thick or caky but it's also high-coverage enough and not too hydrating for on blemishes. It doesn't crease, is long-wearing and has such a natural finish, as well as a formula that blends incredibly well.

MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural (Medium-Dark) | £23 | review | This is my go-to face powder for everyday wear because it blots away any shine and sets things in place but isn't heavy or caky. It's virtually traceless on the skin and doesn't make things look too matte.

Cheeks

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Bronzed | £20 | review | Of course this is my go-to bronzer so it's what I reach for when I'm feeling a bit lazy. It's a matte formula that looks warm on the skin but not orange. The formula is so smooth and easy to blend that I can apply this in a minute or two to add some quick dimension to the look.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love | £25 | review | I guess it doesn't look like much in the pan, or even when swatched, but this is one of my most used blushers for a reason; it just always does the trick! It's a matte formula but does have a bit of a sheen to it. It just has the best formula, whilst it feels a bit crumbly, it just applies so evenly with no effort and lasts all day long. The colour itself is a mauve-peach-nude.

Eyes

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Sunset Blvd | $5 | Sadly this shade has been discontinued however the new release Jinxie (review) is very similar (I just wanted to talk about the shade I actually reach for the most!) ColourPop eyeshadows have a cream formula but the texture is quite spongy and unlike most creams I've tried. Sunset Blvd is a sort of bronze-y nude. This is a Pearlised finish so it has this gorgeous subtle gold sheen. It's m understated but noticeable wash of colour that's just so long-wearing and crease-proof.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadow in Red Earth | $12 | When I'm doing a 'no makeup' look I'll just leave it at Sunset Blvd but if I have a spare 5 minutes it's well worth doing the extra couple of steps. I then take a precise brush and run this through the crease. It's a matte reddened pinky-brown shade that's so pigmented and adds depth an definition to the look.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon | £29 | This is a bit pricey but you can always check out this KIKO dupe. It's worth getting yourself a stick eyeshadow because you can also line your eyes with it. I use this dewy bronze-brown shimmery cream eyeshadow on the outer part of the lid and the blend it with my finger (there's no need to be too precise).

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99 | Lashes are pretty much a non-negotiable, no matter how lazy I'm feeling - my makeup just feels unfinished without mascara! This is of course my old favourite because it gives me so much length and curl as well as a nice dose of volume that's nothing too clumpy. It just really helps open up the eyes as well.

Lips

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Honey | £19 | I know they're kind of pricey but I honestly swear by these tinted lip balms! They're so nourishing and are actually quite pigmented in terms of the colour. This shade is a very warm nude.

  7. Gorgeous flatlay, I used some similar products this morning because I really couldn't be bothered to put much on. I haven't used the Maybelline Lash Sensational for a while but it's my absolute favourite for thicker looking lashes without it taking ages, so impressive considering the price! Hope you had a lovely Christmas and have a fab new year! x

I agree with you that the Maybelline lash sensational is an old favourite - it's incredible and makes lashes really stand out even with minimal makeup! Love this post Jasmine - I really must try the Urban Decay concealer!
