The Warm-Toned Eye Edit

To me; Autumn means warm eyeshadow shades. Ok, I guess I wear those all year round... And I guess if I listed *every* warm eyeshadow in my collection here then we'd be here all day... Today I'm bringing you my absolute favourites that are perfect for this time of year!

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Copper | £23 | This is one of the most long-lasting cream eyeshadows I've ever tried! It has a creamy, completely opaque texture that isn't at all dry to work with but sets down and won't budge or crease. I love the warm gold tone of this eyeshadow as a quick and easy all-over-the-lid shade.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in On the Rocks | $5 | Like all of ColourPop's eyeshadows, this has a gorgeous cream formula that's pigmented and long-wearing. It's a warm brown-bronze-gold with an iridescent glitter running through it. I love it to make an evening eyeshadow look pop - I just pat a bit of this on the centre of the lid and apply a matte shade to the crease and a light shimmer to the inner corner.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Kathleenlights | $5 | This is another gorgeous one to use as a pigment but this is also beautiful on its own; it has a wet-look metallic sheen that looks incredible on the eyes. It's a beautiful warm (almost orange-toned) gold shade.

Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Copper | £7.99 | Ok, this isn't the longest-wearing formula in the world (it's quite light and fluffy in texture though, which is nice) but it's still really pretty, so when I know I won't have a long day (or night) ahead it's still one I reach for. It's a gorgeous warm chocolate-brown and contrary to the name it isn't overly glittery.

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Pan in Legend | £8.50 | This is one of the new Autumn shades that I've been reaching for a lot (there'll be a haul soon featuring the others I picked up). If you aren't familiar with this formula, the Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadows have this amazing, dewy, pigmented, super-metallic finish that really makes them 'pop' once applied. Legend is a stunning warm gold shade.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Single in Cognac | $12 | This has become one of my most-used eyeshadows recently. The formula of these shadows is just amazing; they're so pigmented but still blend out beautifully and wear very well. Cognac is a deep reddy-brown with a subtle shimmer running through it. If you want to try the red eyeshadow trend for Autumn but you're a bit too scared to go all-out then definitely try this because there's enough brown in it for it to still be a sort-of-neutral.

MAC Pro Palette Refill Eyeshadow Pan in Amber Lights | £10 | This is one that always comes out during Autumn/Winter for me! It works beautifully as a wash of colour all across the lid, especially when paired with a berry lip. This is a very warm amber-toned gold colour with a metallic sheen.

MAC Pro Palette Refill Eyeshadow Pan in Woodwinked | £10 | Realistically I wear this all year round - it's just perfect for everyday! However the understated brown-bronze with golden undertones is especially perfect for Autumn. Again, it's got colour payoff and longevity and more of a sheen than an outright shimmer.

MAC Pro Palette Refill Eyeshadow Pan in Sable | £10 | This is a really interesting brown shimmer with reddish-purple undertones. If neutrals are your natural territory then this is another great shade because it's a very subtle nod to the red eyeshadow trend. This is a Frost finish like Amber Lights so has that subtle shimmer as opposed to micro glitter.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Single in Red Earth | $12 | This is my go-to crease colour when I want something that isn't straight brown. I love the Anastasia matte formula; it's so creamy and easy to blend yet still has that opacity. Red Earth is a muted brown-rose-taupe tone.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Cocoa Bear | £5.50 | This is another matte formula that's just a dream to work with! Cocoa Bear is my go-to deeper crease colour when I'm going for a brown eyeshadow look. It's a very warm medium to dark brown with red undertones.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Single in Truffle | $12 | I reach for this whenever I want a deeper colour on the outer part of my lid to add a little bit of smokiness. It's a muted plum shimmer with slightly warm-brown undertones.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan in Cherry Cola | £5.50 | This is the little pop of colour in my Autumn lineup. Especially for this time of year, I love to add a colour to the crease when I'm wearing an otherwise neutral eyeshadow look. The formula isn't quite as amazing as that of Cocoa Bear but it still works well for the way I use it. The shade itself is a muted deep purple-brown matte.

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette | £18 | Yes, it's this again! I just love the quality of the shadows in this palette; they all have amazing colour payoff, the shimmers are stunning and the mattes blend out beautifully. The shades are warm nude shades (golds, browns and bronzes) with little pops of red, pink and purple which really take the looks you can create with this palette to the next level.

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Luxury Palette | £38 | Isn't this palette just dreamy? I don't get enough use out of this but it always comes out for an evening look during the colder months. The formula of these reminds me of MAC's; it's not smooth and buttery but the shadows blend out nicely, have amazing pigmentation and wear extremely well. You get two shades with a subtle sheen - the champagne Prime and the rich red Enhance, a matte charcoal shade - Smoke and a gold pressed glitter - Pop.

Inglot Freedom System | £8 for palette, £5 each for eyeshadow pans | I have definitely neglected this palette but recently rediscovered it and have been making up for lost time! I created this myself when I came across and Inglot store in Westfield Stratford and the shades I chose are all in the warm gold-red family. 11 is an iridescent white-gold shimmer (for highlighting), 335 is a red matte crease colour, 606 is an orange-toned gold shimmer, 408 is a more antique gold shimmer and 52 is a warm mid-brown shade with a matte base but subtle gold glitter running through it. These are fantastic value for money; the shimmers are as good as MAC's and the mattes are actually better!

Blank Canvas Master Series 1 Eyeshadow Palette* | £31.37 | If you love warm neutrals then this is pretty much your ultimate matte palette. I love the texture and quality of these; there's not a single dud with a chalky texture in here and it makes working with mattes so effortless. Though there are a couple of slightly cooler charcoal tones in there, most of these shades (and all of my favourites!) are very warm.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette | £41 | Last but certainly not least is this beauty! It has a mix of very warm neutrals with little pops of warm colour. I find the quality of these shadows to be just as good as the singles and in here you get an amazing variety of warm browns, reds, pinks and oranges.

What are your favourite warm eyeshadows for Autumn?

  3. Great picks! Creating my own Inglot Palette is something I'm very looking forward to do later this year! I've heard so many great things about the process, but also about the eyeshadows! It's expensive but the pans seem pretty big so I can justify the investment! The shade 335 is gorgeous! The Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette is definitely my favourite warm palette!
