The Autumn Beauty Edit

For me Autumn isn't really about rocking a full-on berry lip just yet - that seems a bit of a dramatic change from Summery 'golden goddess' makeup looks for me. Instead I like to take things a step deeper with more subtle versions of berry, mauves and of course warm-toned eyes! I also love a satin base that looks flawless but still allows a bit of glow.

Becca Backlight Priming Filter | £32 | Since the weather turned cold I've been using this pretty much every day. It isn't a smoothing primer as such but will leave your skin looking and feeling hydrated and glowing. I like the subtle sheen this adds to my skin to give a dewy but not greasy finish.

Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation & Concealer | £10 | I've really fallen for this foundation recently. It's got this lovely satin, full-coverage finish that makes the skin look incredibly flawless. It also lasts pretty well on my skin and the colour match (I'm Shade 6) is actually pretty good too. I feel like this would be a great foundation for every skin type except the very oily and very dry.

Too Faced Born This Way Concealer | £20 | This has become my favourite concealer to use under the eyes, despite its annoying tendency to crease unless you set it immediately! It's so hydrating and brightening and despite having a very lightweight texture it gives really good coverage. It blends out with ease and helps to achieve that flawless skin look.

Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion in 02 Gold* | £28 | I'm absolutely obsessed with this highlighter; it just has the nicest texture that blends out beautifully and looks amazing on the skin. It has a metallic finish as opposed to glitter so gives a sheen as opposed to anything really dewy. It's a gorgeous true gold shade that really suits my skin tone.

Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore | £7.50 | This has been a bit of a rediscovery for me recently and I'm really glad I gave it another chance! It's the perfect blusher to go with a deeper lip because although it has this pinky-berry colour, it's actually very subtle and natural on the skin. A lot of the time with deeper blusher shades, no matter how lightly you think you tap your brush into the pan, you still seem to end up looking clown-like within one swipe! However this is pretty much impossible to go overboard with and has a subtle highlighting sheen to it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette | £41 | review | I'm not sure why but this seems to be out of stock everywhere in the UK despite it being a permanent product, so I've linked to their site which ships here. This is just the perfect Autumnal eyeshadow palette in my opinion! The colours are beautifully warm-toned with nude shades as well as a few more pink, red and orange hues. It is weighted towards matte finishes however I find the shimmers in here are versatile so can be used with any look you might want to create using this.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Calypso | $6 | I am well and truly obsessed with this mauve-rose nude shade! It's a nod to Autumn without being too deep or dramatic for everyday wear. I love the Ultra Satin Lip formula; it applies and looks like a matte liquid lip but feels like a normal lipstick. It isn't at all drying but still wears so well!

Avene Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Serum* | £17 | This has been my 'every single day' serum for the past month or two because it's so lightweight, absorbs easily into the skin, giving so much hydration to my skin without leaving behind any excess or being too rich. It's just what my skin needs as we move into the colder months!

Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask | £18 | This is such a great overnight skincare product because it's not too smothering but still does the job in terms of being amazingly nourishing. It leaves my skin soft, hydrated and plumped and most importantly doesn't break me out in the process!

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs and Rosewater | £6.50 | I pretty much always use a facial mist in place of a toner in the morning these days. For Autumn I've switched to the hydrating combination of aloe vera and rosewater. It really refreshes and moisturises my skin in a quick spritz - plus it's a bargain.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream | £11 | This smells absolutely beautiful and despite not having a heavy or greasy texture, it gives my hands lasting relief from dryness. You don't need to use too much and it never fails to leave my hands soft and moisturised.

Formula X Nail Polish in Elite | $10.50 | nail swatch | This is one of my favourite shades at the moment! It's one of those lovely 'greige' shades; part neutral, part lilac, part grey and totally Autumnal. I love how opaque this is on first application; it really is a great formula.

  1. That is such a beautiful photograph! I love the Nuxe hand cream and that Mario Badescu spray. I always need a rosewater in my routine. I'm curious about the Becca primer. I've just about finished my Burberry Nude Radiance primer which I'd imagine has a similar effect but would be good to try something new. :)

  3. I straightaway dived in to berry lips, however, when I wear dark berry lips, I make sure to keep my makeup pretty simple. Does that sleep mask get your skin oily? As soon as the weather changes, my skin starts being weird so I need something that would keep my skin soft and hydrated. x

  4. I agree with the makeup style for autumn. I love dark lips but never feel they suit me so do berry/warm eyes instead.
I definitely need to use some sleep masks or serums, my skin is dry as hell during summer let alone now!

  6. Lovely picks! I got to say, I'm only just starting to wear berry lips as it just felt too early before! The Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Vera and Rosewater sounds lovely formula-wise and I wonder, what does it smell like? Because I don't really like strong rose scent, but I really want to try it!

  12. I have been testing out the Milani Foundation since I won it in a giveaway and one day I love it and another I hate it, I do find it doesn't work well if applied with a brush. For me I do prefer fuller coverage in A/W so I am really loving the new Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation.

  13. I've had the Milani foundation in my collection for quite some time and I've only used it once. You've convinced me to try it again. Your thoughts on the Becca primer make me want to try it as well. I've been waiting for the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette to come back in stock at Sephora for months. It's the top product on my wish list. I love the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm but I've never tried the hand cream, although it sounds amazing.

  20. I have been looking to try the Milani foundation but I don't know if it will suit my combination oily skin. A few people have said it is best for non combination/oily skin so I am a little apprehensive hehehehhe. I would love to read your full review of this foundation if possible.
