New on my Skincare Shelf | Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It & Bliss Fabulous Makeup Melt Cleanser*

This past month or so I've been trialling a couple of new skincare bits I was kindly sent to give a go.  I thought I'd share with you my thoughts on them, so let me know if you like this format as I might do it with future skincare updates.

Starting with a product I've already talked a bit about; it's the Soap & Glory face scrub. It isn't a harsh formula at all, there are some very fine exfoliation particles in the paste-like green formula. Essentially it is both a chemical and a physical exfoliant. I really like the packaging as it's easy to squeeze out a pea-sized amount and the product is kept cool and hygienic. My only negative about the formula is that it's lightly fragranced, though it doesn't aggravate my skin personally, it can be an issue for some. I apply this to my t-zone and gently massage it in (it feels very slightly tingly) and leave for 2 minutes before rinsing it off.

Immediately my skin looks fresher and brighter, as well as less oily. When I took a look in a magnifying mirror, my pores genuinely seemed less noticeable. I'm generally suspicious when products say they refine pores as so few have done anything much for me, however this works. I don't know how but it does! With my dream line-up of using this before Benefit's Porefessional Primer and finally Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation, my enlarged pores have barely bothered me recently.

Best For: Combination, Oily, Dull, Dehydrated Skin Types
Ingredients Include: Kaolin, Glycerin, Lauric Acid, various citric acids

I'm a big fan of cleansers that melt away your makeup, so much so I did a post on them here, so this is right up my street. This product is free of nasty ingredients like  artificial fragrance, artificial colour, mineral oil, soap, parabens, sulphates or phthalates, which is a big pro. The packaging is hygienic and allows a lot of control over the amount you squeeze out, so nothing goes to waste (I can see this tube lasting me forever). However I do feel it could be a little fancier for the £24 price tag. Two pea-sized amounts are enough to remove my face makeup as well as my eye makeup and you simply massage it into the skin and wipe across the eyes. Although it does have more of a slip to it as you work it in, I don't find it too oily or heavy.

When you rinse it off the emulsion formula means it breaks down easily and takes your makeup with it. Whilst it works better with a muslin cloth, it is still very effective without. This is one of, if not the most effective makeup-melters I've tried. This really surprised me as I generally find that the less oily the cleanser the harder it is to remove makeup with. Personally, although it has a new lease of life as my morning cleanser, I found the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel useless for removing makeup (there was always so much left over afterwards!) If you're after something similar that works exceptionally well for removing makeup then check this out instead.

My only negative is that I have really sensitive eyes and this stings a bit if you're really trying to work the product into your lashes to remove stubborn black mascara and eyeliner. This is a real shame as if I could use it more thoroughly on my eyes, this would be perfect. After use, my skin feels fresh, clean, balanced but not stripped.

Best For: All Skin Types
Ingredients Include: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Sage Leaf Oil, Lavander Oil

  3. I haven't tried either of these, but I love experimenting with skincare. The S&G product is perhaps not suited to my skin type but I'm loving the sound of the Bliss one - agree with you about the boring packaging though.

  4. The Bliss cleanser sounds lovely minus the eye issue! I haven't used Scrub Your Nose in It since it was in the pink packaging but I hated the smell so never repurchased it!

  6. Ooh with oily and dull skin I think I need to try out Scrub Your Nose In It! I love the name of it and it sounds like this is exactly what my skincare regime needs at the minute. Lovely post, is the copper basket from H&M Home? If it is, I've had my eye on it for a while but don't know whether to get it :) x

  9. I tried Scrubatomic from S&G and found it too harsh for my skin, but it wouldn't put me off trying some other products from the brand. I tried the famous oxygen mask from Bliss and really didn't rate it buy I love their body products! xx

  17. I love Soap and Glory's range but it's all too scented for me so I can never use it, shame too I would have liked to give the pore scrub a go! I have a foam cleanser in the cupboard to use but I'm scared to use it, might see what all the fuss is about haha xx
