Smooth Skin Favourites

Summer is the time our arms and legs tend to come out of hiding, and even when they don't I just love the feeling of soft skin. These are my favourite products for smooth, hydrated skin, as well as to battle post-holiday peeling.

I start by using a body scrub and this one from the Body Shop is my favourite. I love the honey fragrance and the formula is like a butter with small, gentle exfoliating particles. It buffs away dead skin without redness or irritation and is surprisingly nourishing at the same time.

This is seriously one of my all-time favourite bath products! I've never found a razor that's been life-changing enough to blog about (though a few of my friends swear by epilating, so maybe I'll try that), however this isn't only an amazing body wash but I've completely ditched shaving foam in favour of it. The yummy almond-oat fragrance and incredibly nourishing formula leaves my skin feeling so soft and makes shaving my legs effortless.

Once I'm out of the bath or shower, I dry off and apply this straight away. It sinks in so quickly and adds some intense moisture. If, like me, you suffer badly from dry skin on your body then this could be a miracle product for you too. It's so affordable that it's something I'll always re-purchase.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Anti-Aging Smoothing Lotion | £4.39

Don't be put off my the name! I picked this up after reading a recommendation by Sali Hughes because it contains AHAs and BHAs, both ingredients I love in facial skincare. Whilst this doesn't have the nicest fragrance in the world (I am, however one of the apparently few people who likes the scent of the original), it does the job perfectly. It really does banish dullness and the dreaded 'ashiness' darker skin tones can suffer from. I also like the light lotion formula in comparison to the standard Cocoa Butter.

This is my 'in a rush' summertime pick. It's a light but very hydrating lotion that comes out in a spray. My only annoyance with this is that after a few months of use the spray's aim became a bit unpredictable! However I still really like this for when I don't want to pile on anything too  heavy.

The Righteous Butter has to be my favourite rich formula. I love the light scent and it's just so creamy, luxurious and nourishing to the skin. I love even just putting this on before bed as there's no nicer feeling that the sheets against your super-smooth legs! This is the one I reach for when I feel I need something heavy duty or just want something a bit more indulgent.

What are your favourite products for smooth skin?

  2. I'm using the Dove Shower Cream at the moment which is a fraction of that S&G one, but I will definitely have to try that as I bet it smells amazing. I'm so over shave foam in favour of the creamy body washes now! They work so much better :)
I will have to try that spray lotion as well, seems so convenient for lazier days!

  10. I love The Body Shop scrub (my favourite is the argan oil one) and I love the scent of S&G Righteous Butter but I am sadly allergic to it. I have never tried Palmer's product. The spray sounds so easy and convenient. I personally like in-the-shower products, in particular the body conditioners from Lush :) Xx

  24. You can never go wrong with Soap and Glory! The smell of Whipped Clean is lush, while the thick formula of the Righteous Butter is perfect for people with dry skin (like me). Palmer's Moisturising Body Oil looks like uninteresting one as I have heard a lot about the quality of their products so I'll have to check it out x
