Trying Asian Skincare | Beauteque Head to Toe Aloe Beauty Bag*

I've been dying to try out some East Asian skincare products for ages but I was a little overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. When the people over at Beauteque offered me to the chance to try their Head to Toe Aloe Beauty Bag* (£31.55 including P&P), I jumped at the chance, and now I've been trialling this for a couple of weeks I thought I'd share my thoughts so far!

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Moisture Emulsion*

I've never really tried a product like this emulsion before but I suffer from dehydrated skin so I was intrigued to give it a go. As directed, I've been applying this morning and evening after my toner. It's a light, lotion-like texture and I use a small amount all over my face on a cotton wool pad. It's really refreshing and I feel it adds a nice boost of hydration without being too rich and it sinks in really nicely. The only downside is that it's a little bit tricky to squeeze out of the bottle! Overall though, it's a quick and worthwhile additional step.

Silicon Massage Pad*

It took me a while to figure out what this was for! Essentially it's a little like a cleansing brush except the bristles are silicon. You use this to gently massage in your cleanser and I have to say I feel this allows it to clean right into my pores and has helped to keep my skin clear since I started using it.

It's Skin Aloe Soothing Gel*

This is billed as for face or body, which I had reservations about. However I did find it worked on my body to reduce the peeling I was suffering from post-holiday. On my face it's a refreshing boost of hydration that sinks in really quickly. You could easily use this in place of a moisturiser as I feel the gel really does penetrate into my skin and adds hydration that isn't just immediate and temporary.

Tosowoong Pure Aloe Mask*

This wasn't my favourite product from the bag, unfortunately. There weren't any English instructions but a sheet mask is fairly self-explanatory and I just left it on for ten minutes. Maybe it needed longer as whilst it was cool and refreshing, I didn't feel this added any lasting hydration to my thirsty skin. The sheet mask is soaked in a sort of gel that made my skin feel refreshed but I didn't feel it looked massively different.

Fresh Aloe Sheet Mask*

After a bit of Googling I saw most people leave sheet masks on for 15+ minutes so with this mask I left it on for much longer. I did find it very similar to the Tosowoong one to be honest; though I did think my skin looked a little fresher and more glowing after using this. I would say I preferred this one but that could be because the product on the sheet had longer to sink into my skin this time round.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera Body Cream*

I'm a really big fan of this body cream! It's kind of a lotion texture; it's quite light, cool and refreshing but it still adds some serious moisture to the dry skin on my arms and legs. It doesn't sit on top of my skin or just provide superficial hydration; it sinks in properly without being too heavy for the summer months.

Welcos Aloe Vera Soothing Gel Mist*

This is one of my favourite products of the bunch. I'm quite skeptical of facial sprays and mists as I'm never convinced they do much in the long-run. However I feel this isn't just temporarily nice and refreshing but it genuinely leaves my skin feeling hydrated and replenished. It's quite a heavy mist, however perhaps that's why I find it so effective! I use this as the last step in my skincare routine, after my moisturiser and before my primer and I will definitely attempt to repurchase this one it runs out.

Have you ever tried Asian skincare? Any brands/products you'd recommend?

  14. I'm desperate to try some Asian skincare and this selection sounds like the perfect introduction! I love products which include Aloe, especially during the hotter, holiday months. It's just a shame that the face masks didn't live up to expectations, as they'd be the part I'd most look forward to trying!

  16. Sheet masks are my favourite to use, but most people don't know how to use them properly. To use, it's best to keep on 10-15 minutes, then remove the mask, massaging in the remainder of product left on your skin, and not washing it off. Is that what you did?

    1. Like I said, I appreciate the first one was a bit of a write-off but I just Googled what people generally do the second time round and I just didn't feel it sunk into my skin well enough to give lasting-effects. Not to say that they wouldn't be amazing for you and other people but I can only speak from my personal experience regarding my skin type
