Worth the Hype? || Zoeva Rose Golden Brush Set

Rose Gold is having a bit of a moment right now, from Charlotte Tilbury to Real Techniques Bold Metals. I've already earmarked the Rose Gold Volume 2 for February payday but I couldn't help but also invest in the extremely hyped-up original! (Update: read my post on the Volume 2 Set here) The original Zoeva Rose Golden Brush Set is £55, and you get 3 (or 4, depending on how you class a concealer brush) eye brushes and 4 for your face. You have eyes; you can see they're very beautiful, but what about the quality?

The Powder Brush is the perfect replacement for my Real Techniques Duo Fibre Face Brush, which I'd wanted to use for highlighter for a while. It's big and fluffy so you can dust on powder without smudging your concealer. I find it picks up just the right amount of powder and it's now my go-to.

The Silk Finish Brush works really nicely both for light bases and for thicker foundations. It produces a smooth, streak-free finish in seconds and the rounded bristles mean it's really easy to manoeuvre into every little bit of your face.

The Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush is the only one in this entire set that didn't really blow me away to be honest. I've tried a few different techniques but it never seems to apply blusher as easily as my Real Techniques Blush Brush. It's so lovely-looking it's a shame it didn't really perform for me.

The Face Shape Brush is your contour best friend. It fits so nicely into the hollows of your cheeks and the bristles are the perfect firmness to both apply the powder and to blend it out.

The Concealer Buffer certainly lives up to its title as it seamlessly buffs any concealer formula in with your base. It's also a good shape and size to get right into the awkward places like the inner corner of your eyes.

The Luxe Soft Definer is a really nice eye brush. Personally I use this to blend in the crease colour or a smokier shade applied to the outer part of my eye and it does the trick perfectly.

The Luxe Petit Crease Brush is perfectly shaped to fit right in the eye socket and apply that crease shade. It's now my #1 crease brush as it really adds that definition even if your application skills aren't incredible.

The Wing Liner Brush is another one that does what it says it will. It's really got me back into gel and cream eyeliner as the sharp angle of it means you get that absolutely perfect feline flick. It's so precise!

Every single brush is extremely soft. The white bristles make it really easy to see how much product you've picked up but don't worry, they don't get stained if you wash them properly. £55 seems a lot to drop in one go but you're getting a beautiful, amazing quality set of brushes, plus a travel pouch. And to put it into perspective, you'd only get two of the Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes for the same price. The eye brushes are by far the best I own; they're really something special.

Overall for me they are definitely worth the hype!

Have you tried Zoeva brushes? Will you be checking out the Rose Gold Volume 2 sets?

  4. This set is so beautiful, I've also seen a cream version floating around on Instagram. It's a shame there's not a brow brush, but I'm still definitely tempted!

  6. I've had these on my wish list for so long, I just can't justify spending the money on them at the moment because bills sadly have to come first :( When I do eventually buy them it's not to know they are worth the hype!

  10. I am desperate to try these! But I've also wondered if they are worth the hype. I'm not a huge fan of getting a set, I like to just get single brushes so I can pick which ones I want.
