Obviously MAC Lipsticks are one of the most hyped beauty products ever. However I've picked out 4 gorgeous shades that aren't getting enough love in the blogosphere for this 'under hyped' post. I do own a fair few of them, and whilst I don't think they're the be-all and end-all of high-end lipsticks they have such a huge selection of colours and finishes I really think there's the perfect lipstick in there for everyone.
I've tried to include a good mix of finishes and narrowed it down to: Twig, Taupe, Jubilee and Dubonnet. MAC Lipsticks are £15.50 each and can be purchased here.
Twig was one of my first and is still a firm favourite. It's a gorgeous mauve/dusky pink shade with a Satin finish. That means it's not quite matte and still has a bit of sheen to it. I love this for work days and it's one I wear all year round.
Another shade I can't stop wearing is Taupe, which is Matte. It's a gorgeous brown with a tiny hint of terracotta. I love this with my Urban Decay Naked palette on the eyes. It's not too drying and doesn't drag or skip; it actually feels quite comfortable on the lips.
Jubilee is a Lustre finish and is a go-to on work days. It's just so easy and comfortable to wear. It's my perfect 'my lips but better' shade. Obviously it doesn't have amazing wear time as it's MAC's glossiest finish lipstick formula.
My 'nighttime' underrated shade is Dubonnet. I do love another red called Chili but that's a little more daytime, whereas this one (an Amplified formula) has a bit more of a 'wow' factor. I don't find many occasions to wear this deep red but it's still a beautiful colour. You do have the annoyance of glossy finish and dark colour leading to transfer but it's so beautiful I don't even care!
P.S. apologies for my lips - they were really sore that day! And I'm not pulling a face, they really are that wonky...
So next time you're in the beauty hall feeling overwhelmed by hundreds of MAC lipsticks, find these and have a swatch!
Have you tried any of these shades? Which are your favourite MAC Lipsticks?
