Best Of...Benefit Cosmetics

For me Benefit is a brand that delivers 99.9% of the time so it's been tough to choose my absolute favourite products, but I've managed to narrow it down to 5 essentials. I also just love their fun brand image and their kitschy, tongue-in-cheek packaging.

Including the Cheeky Sweet Spots Set (£29.99, sold out) is cheating a little so I've picked a favourite; Rockateur (£23.50). It was hard to choose between this shade and Coralista but I went for the rose gold colour. It has a small amount of shimmer and just gives a really nice pop of colour to the cheeks. I think it's pretty universally flattering as I've seen people of all skin tones and colourings rock it!

Ok, cheating properly now, as this is a set and the shades are sold individually, but I also love the World Famous Neutrals: Most Glamrous Nudes Ever Kit (£23.50). The pearlescent powder shades compliment each other so beautifully but for me the standouts are the cream shadows which are gorgeous shades and have such a great texture to them. When you throw it all together I just love the look it creates.

No Benefit post would be complete without mentioning the legendary They're Real Mascara (£19.50). It just does it for me! It adds the length, it adds the volume, it doesn't clump...it just does everything I want a mascara to do!

I was a little late to the party on this one but I've been converted to the Porefessional (£24.50)! Personally I just thought it was too expensive for such a small tube, however I got it 20% off and also if you're ever passing a Benefit store they sell a large that's £5 and you get nearly double the product! Otherwise, you really don't need to use a huge amount of it anyway so I can see this lasting. It does the best job out of any primer I've tried at hiding my large pores, making them virtually invisible. It also creates a nice, smooth base for applying foundation and makes your base last that bit longer!

Finally there's the Brow Zings Shaping Kit (£24.50). It's a fantastic product, though I do think you can get something virtually the same for less. However it's still a brand favourite for me. I use the wax to get the tail and structure right and then brush a bit of the powder through to fill in any gaps. It's really easy to create a nice, natural look with this kit.

Sorry these swatches aren't the best - I realised I needed to do some at about 4pm! I'll include better ones in future posts.

  4. I do think some benefit items are a tad over priced at times, but regardless their blushes are my top favourites and have been for quite some time now I just love them. I also love They're Real Mascara and looking forward to trying their newest mascara release soon. I also need to try Porefessional and see what all the fuss is about x

  5. I haven't tried lots of Benefit products but like the Porefessional but totally can't make the They're real mascara work for me. I really want to try their blushes, I'm regretting now not buying the Sweet Cheek set as it was a fantastic value for money! x

  11. Great picks! Benefit are hands down one of my favourite beauty brands. Although I'm actually not a big fan of the They're Real mascara, it just doesn't add the length for me. I prefer the Bad Gal lash by far! x

  20. Im still a little indesisive about They're Real, I love it as a mascara, but not sure if I can repurchase it time after time especially since It does a similar job to my L'Oreal.

  21. You know, I snapped up the Cheeky Sweet Spot before the Holidays and haven't even opened it yet...In all fairness, I thought I was going to gift it. Now it's sitting in my unopened pile. I already own the regular size of Rocketeur which is one of my all time favourites. I'm wearing it today, actually. And Porefessional is definitely a staple. :-)
